The History of Quakers in Newcastle, a talk by Margaret Bozic.
The Religious Society of Friends was established by George Fox in 1652. The movement spread very quickly and arrived in Tyneside only two years later. At first they were not welcome in Newcastle and so held their meetings in Gateshead. But by the end of the seventeenth century they were able to worship in Newcastle and built their first Meeting House on Pilgrim Street.
The Lit & Phil Library is Newcastle’s exquisite secret library, open to all and free to explore and browse. This is one of a growing series of free online talks all of which are available here in the Lit & Phil's CZcams channel.

The Lowry estate is an interesting one. Is it Carol Anne Lowry or Carol spires? Or is this the same person?! Also, why is there no confirmation of what happened when Carol was involved in a plane crash, which killed her husband and children... An article claims she died in the incident, whereas another article claimed she survived and was recovering in a local hospital?? Can somebody help clear this up please.

not a complex issue at all. the problems with the batteries are easily summarized, easily understood and lead to one and only one conclusion which is as stated, these batteries have no place in existence. totally unsafe, with the entire climate change agenda a hoax advanced by Orwellian misfits out of initiatory societies advancing the agenda of oligarchical satanism. duh.

I think with some artists, lack of recognition in their lifetime is life's way of protecting them from the fickle circus of fame and celebrity. It can often spoil a sensitive soul. Some people are better off left to just get on with it, bless them ! Lowry was a case in point. I think he understood that, too.

Sorry you weren't happy with the audio and subtitles. I admit that the audio for the introduction is not great, but I think that of Selina Todd seems fine to me. The subtitles are generated by CZcams automatically if you choose them. I've just had a look and again, with a few caveats, they are surprisingly accurate.

The movie is an excellent whodunit and concerns upon one murder in the Orient Express train with Hercules Poirot (Albert Finney) as sleuth-man to solve it . There are many suspects , all support cast : Sean Connery , Ingrid Bergman , Anthony Perkins , Vanessa Redgrave , Jacqueline Bisset , Richard Widmark , Rachel Roberts , John Gielgud , Michael York , etc . Who's the killer? . Poirot is helped by a ¨Watson-alike¨ (Martin Balsam) and they will track down to culprit at the end . At the beginning of the film talks about a kidnapping and killing a baby similarly to the Lindberg's son and which the murderer was condemned to death row , this one will be related with the death of the train. The motion picture is only set on two scenarios : the station and train . However this doesn't make boring it. The runtime movie is overlong : two hours and some but isn't slow-moving and is amount amusing for suspense and tension. First-rate interpretation specially from Albert Finney and Ingrid Bergman , Oscar winner as best secondary actress . The set design and costumes are riveting , the flick is magnificently set by that time . Evocative musical score by Richard Rodney Bennett . Geoffrey Unsworth's cinematography is atmospheric and colorful. Sidney Lumet's direction is fascinating such as ¨12 angry men¨ . The movie will appeal to suspense enthusiasts and thriller lovers.
