Totally agree with you on the resting in the fridge step. This is important for the flour to get fully hydrated, and I don’t think freezing it allows that to happen in the same way. Some of your steps seem different to Claire’s which I think might explain why it spread so much. Mainly the step of cooking down the brown butter mixture over ice before creaming in the sugar. I think this makes them less liquidy and spreadable

Girl I couldn’t eat an egg or I’d puke all nine moths. The smells for sure bacon cooking, a rinsed out tuna can. For sure puking. It was awful. My son to this day at 32 hates eggs lol

Yes the only thing they do bother me is the piling on the inside but they are so comfortable!

She also browned all of the butter and did a few things different, and her cookies didn’t spread as much and were less thin. That maybe why yours came out different. With baking I have noticed doing the steps in the order she shows is key and worth it to get as close as to what she made.

Baking is a science if you did any step / ingredient differently you can't really compare it with the original. It's not the same unfortunately.
