Get a DR650 with knobbies.

I mean, the biggest problem I've faced is the lack of torque in the lower RPMs when I am driving on the trails. The transmission hunting can be fixed by either choosing the manual or getting an OTT tune. I suppose, if I had the money, the Magnuson is what I'd go with. I want the truck to crawl through obstacles with minimal throttle. Wish Toyota offered a diesel option tbh

You said in one of the comments that you only recommend OVTune or CVC Tune. Why is that? There are other tunes, some are more popular than others, but how did you come to this conclusion? Heard of complaints or issues? Compared tunes? Done a dyno test? I'm intrigued

lol as much as I love my fully built 4Runner, I’m always amused to see a rock climber girl driving a bang up Subaru or RAV4 or a Prius to some of the toughest trails that us off-road guys would be scared to tackle without a lift and bigger tires. Those girls are the real goats

Disagree. This is the real list: 1. Way too many aftermarket lights 2. A dometic fridge that never gets used 3. Recovery gear mounted on the outside of the vehicle at all costs (how else will people know how hardcore you are?) 4. GoPro mounts EVERYWHERE 5. Last but not least copious amounts of stickers and TRD badges that weren’t originally on your rig. This will make the biggest difference in vehicle capability (I’m just joking don’t come after me)

Are you just running stock Tundra springs? How does it do with all the weight? Does it lift it any? Getting the Icon lift, but running on bump stops with RSI and full kitchen stock suspension.

Love this truck. Super practical and will hit so many of the trails we have here in Colorado. Perfect adventure truck. MTN YOTAS built my 4Runner and I love it! This trail just happens to be one of my fav!!

I got a 4th gen 2004 about three months ago for $5800. And my head gasket just blew but it’s in the shop right now getting fixed. Can’t wait to start building it when it’s ready

I can buy a short block 302 blueprint engine, which is built and making 360 HP NA for $5k. An engine swap isn’t cheap, but I could sell my 3.5 with 35k miles for a good amount to recoup some money. I don’t know why people spend so much on forced induction on a V6. The magnuson supercharger is like $13k!! Ridiculous

A year late, but yeah, everything stated here is exactly on spot. If you wanna go bigger, it’s gotta be done right, and done right cost big. I bought my Tacoma already built, total chaos, kings, leaf under, airbags, everything. I swear it’s one of the trucks in this video, anyway, whoever built my truck, in Colorado, built the perfect Tacoma. And now the baddest Tacoma on South Padre island Texas….

If prochargers were more reliable then why are all the oems running TVS blowers on their factory or dealer installed supercharged cars, including Toyota themselves with the TRD blowers?
