    To create a wash of pumice-mixed-paint, can you mix it with gamsol since it will evaporate pretty quickly?

    • @AmyShawley
      @AmyShawley Před 2 lety

      Hi Angelique, gamsol isn’t a compatible medium with the pumice gel since the gel is acrylic, you can just use water to thin or an acrylic medium but you want to be careful not to underbind the pumice gel, because the pumice pieces can pop off your surface if there’s not enough acrylic binder to hold them together.

  • @amritashankarmahato5442

    Hi recently started following you and tried hard to understand this video. Unfortunately, it wasn’t clear at all. You made two paintings or one . And the other was for reference. it would be better if you read out the information instead of writing them down. thanks

    • @AmyShawley
      @AmyShawley Před 5 lety

      amrita shankar mahato Hello and thank you for your feedback. To help guide you better, the voice over in the intro mentions the goals of the project and shows two separate final paintings, one embellished with watercolor and one with pastel pencil...both of which get coated with Gloss Medium during the project. These images in the intro are the result of the steps of the video project. The video shows how to apply a layer of GOLDEN Pastel Ground to previously painted surfaces you want to be toothy (in this case monoprints) so that they can better receive materials like watercolor and pastel pencils... when that layer dries, I go on to apply watercolor to one painting surface and pastel pencil to the other, then I show how to use Gloss Medium as the next layer. What other parts of the project were unclear? I want to do my best to clarify... you can always email me at amyshawley@gmail.com if you have any general questions beyond this video too. All my best!
