You need to invest time for yourselves, you should create a local support system for kids rather than nannies. You can stay in your hometown during those time with parents and in-laws. You should better go back to your home town. Why you are yet in Bangalore???

Salaries for technology related gone up maximum and keep going up basically if you want services plus loyal people you need to pay well enough to run household too right or not? Educated don't get jobs just because they were not downloaded from technology? So learn to do own work maximum as much as possible or be ready to pay for services karnataka government may be giving citizens and voters money but other places like up government not bothered too just want votes and power too? Society's should fix the salaries for part time workers like 30 mins morning and 30 mins evening amount per home like and the person should get like 5 homes bare minimum too? Where are the so called mentors now? Pardon if you don't like this but blr is a overpriced and overhyped city too?

7:58 Just a perspective, these Freebies available in Karnataka has significantly affected the financial status of the government employees salary and pensions. Lower midle class and poor are the ones here in bengaluru who are actually enjoying these facilities. Most of the times we travel by metro trains. Literally NO MAID cleans any house properly no matter how much ever you pay them, within 20-30 minutes they finish all there work and leave, and in the meantime we have to be all eyes so that no thing goes missing. We always have to watch over them. And when we are not in home we from our side have to ask them to skip the work to be on our safer side.

Exactly same problem in chennai also. She kept on asking for more money, she joined for 3k , in 1.5 year she raised her salary to 5.5k.she used to bring her freind or lady relatives then they ll loudly laugh and talk and do job which was a huge hindrance because I had a baby back then, I told her many time u come alone and do chores, she said it's so boring to do alone. Then I said to myself enough is enough. Then I bought bosch dishwasher, cleans vessels like charm. Then invested in vaccum cleaner too. Then I told her thanks for the help so far kindly don't come from tomorrow.she was schocked, I rocked😂😂😂😂😂

Learn to respect the maid. Give her atleast 10 percent increment every year. When u get 15 to 20 percent hike, the maid also needs to be motivated. Many people n India don't treat them as human beings. Don't keep gold and cash in your homes if u have mids. Either u stay at home and keep things safely locked or keep in locker These days money is needed for not just food and clothes but also for top up for so many things. Be helpful and kind. Still they are not thankful, depend on machines.

I have talked to some of these maids. Almost all of them have no education and thier sons ans husband are mostly addicted to drug/ alcohol.

The whole point is not that . When you’re paying for a service you expect some work which is not happening. What’s your solution for that?

This is an excellent topic. I stay in individual house in ecity since 8 years. These maids create an artificial demand and form a group among themselves. Then they demand more money and if we don't give, they don't allow anyone to join even from outside. I faced theft once and there was another lady checking my cupboards etc. fortunately we have camera at home. Anyway i finally decided to buy robotic vaccum and dishwasher. Using since two years and I don't have regrets. UC for bathroom cleaning and i clean the garden, terrace etc. problem solved

You are talking through your hat. You don't know or realise what you are saying. 6 to 8 days of leave per month is ok ? 3500 per month plus the days off, adds up to another 1000 ! This is just one example. A lot of your age working kids even guve their two wheelers to these maids. No wonder they are arrogant and demand more. You know nothing but talk through your hat. Get your facts first.

It cleans super good. cleaning the floor I do daily and mopping twice or on alternate days. Bathroom cleaning on Sundays.make it a point to ask everyone in the family to contribute to the house cleaning and this way children also learn the household responsibilities. You seem to have a poor idea of the vessels needed to be washed, cleaning them up immediately after dinner is at the end of the day. After a day of office work ,with or without commuting,it would be tough to pick up the washing. And what happens to the breakfast vessels, can you wash them before you leave for work? When you have kids, their eating, their snacks dabbas all add up. Loading and unloading a dishwasher is not an easy ,it’s also time consuming Vacuuming can be done only on the weekends-- there goes your weekends. I’m not being a kill joy,but being a realist only. It’s tough running a house, best of luck.

As living standards in india are improving, you will generally find less people willing to take up cleaning other peoples dirty dishes. Get a dishwasher and a wet mop. Forego Gym membership, this burns enough calories for a typical person. Hire a cleaning company fortnightly to do one off cleaning the whole property, they charge hourly. Its a standard thing in the west.

Middle class just tries to copy rich by following these practices. Its problematic for those few who have no shame in accepting their actual financial status. Also bargaining culture is losing its ground among the middle class. Bargaining is very important for Middle class so that they are not mistaken as rich by lower class. If you are not actually rich and just perceived to be rich, thats when it gets messed up. So its for middle class and even upper middle class folks, don't feel any shame in bargaining on streets, do not give extra allowances and gifts to your maid regularly, and never give tip to anyone. Leave these tasks for rich class.

You see all those reports of income equality, that 3% of population having all the wealth. But no one addresses the real reason. What you said is the real reason. The people who are not making progress, are the ones who dont want to work. For those who are willing to work hard and hustle, there are enough opportunities to advance in life. Even with small scale businesses, I have heard friends running these complain that the guys come, sign on the register and expect to get paid. They dont want to work or they put in minimal effort. Also with gated communities etc, they are jealous and resentful of what they refer to as outsiders.
