Awsome!!
We just played this in a concert Sunday past! 😊😊😊❤❤❤
Beautiful
Just beautiful ! ! ! I booked him on my Jazz show at the Platinum Grille in Philly, when he was 16. From prodigy to genius.
Billy Joel =musical genius. This is an example of why.
the second oboe part is great
I remember this piece my freshman year of high school in the All-District Concert Band! Such a fun piece and also really gorgeous Air!
I love this.
Yes
Mannered?
As a Texan Im afraid I hardly heard any thing
Thanks for sharing! Just beautifull! Cheers from France
good job
I have played this arrangement with a project orchestra in the Netherlands. For me as a percussionist, it brought me a scarce oportunitiy to let all the beautifull mallet percussion being played.
Wonderful !!!! Geoff !!!!!!!!!!!
Wonderful !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am playing this song for band and I Clarinet and its tooo slow its sooo hard
What's wrong with the recording system, the constant pause in the music ?
GRACIAS BELLISIMO.
Some young musician!
Little shit
Made me want to watch a western... and I Hate westerns... LOL
Fantastic
This is the first comment on this video to mention quarantine.
Necro'ing this video, but this is such a lovely rendition of this arrangement! My college band is playing this song this semester and this recording is one of the best ones that I've heard! :)
Talent +++
Delightful! What kind of trumpet is that?
Today, just by sheer accident, I came across this amazing talent, playing one of my very favorite songs. He is definitely a child prodigy. He is absolutely amazing and awesome.
Me too. Yes, he is. You can tell it instantly..first two notes. The way he attacks a tune, the invention..It is all there.
I need to show this to my conductor.
that unfortunate clarinet squeak right at the very end... Very beautiful performance of this great piece though.
And the person coughing all throughout
were playing this in wind ensemble its sooooo fun to play
Will he be as successful as Miles Davis ?
pretty sure the temple block rhythm is ( _ + 2 _ 3 + _ + | _ + 2 _ 3e+a 4 + ) - underscores are rests.
Simply brilliant!
Endurance at a young age, skills!!
I feel like that last note just ends to abruptly, I wonder why the composer choose that
Kyle Manley cuz they’re better than your gay ass
@@samlauer8855 Can't argue with that
Omfg absolutely astounding!!!
I played this song for my high school band just a few weeks ago on suspended cymbal, woodblock, and temple block. They went faster than we did. Woodblock was supposed to play with woodwinds at 0:37 and temple blocks sort of made up their own rhythm here. Everyone else sounded okay, but I'm honestly not sure what bells and xylophone were supposed to sound like since ours weren't here half the time. Overall, good job. ugh im literally in high school why am i writing so pretentiously
N Runestad were playing this too im doing the Xylo and bells and chimes
Still amazed!
One can imagine the adults, the professionals and highly skilled players of this fine and august orchestra of dedicated musicians, at the peak of their career, saying "I can see it but I don't believe it.. I can see it happening in front of me but I don't believe it!" I like them have put in the hours, the scales. the arpeggi-wotsits, breathing exercises, (need I go on?) and have made some acceptable noises in front of some BIG audiences, in EU and US, have been paid AND asked to come back. BUT I'm NOT (many of us aren't) in this guy's league! Unfortunately for Geoff, he is flowering in an age of diminishing reverence or appreciation of talent, OF ANY SORT! A kid was being interviewed and said that she wanted to be famous. The interviewer asked "Famous for what?" Silly girl answered "What do you mean for what? I just want to be famous!" Well she is NOW if anonymously!. Old Geoff may have to enjoy the adulation of folks of his parent's generation or earlier and watch audiences taper off through the years. The new generation doesn't like music..They just like the noise it makes The cream of the best has gone and I am privileged to have lived through the back end of the best. Beatles...Schmeatles... "Dad. What was it like in your day>" "In MY day? Get used to it Beginner.. I'm having my day NOW! This is MY day. You should hope and pray that I allow you to live long enough to reach YOUR day!" My day indeed!
Happy Independence Day Texas!
I am playing this song for band and I and play snare (its like 7 notes) XD
Thrilling!! He was born with a great gift that has been and will continue to are nurtured. Were are watching the growth of a wonderful flower yet to fully bloom.
The young lad has a beautiful sound and will surely get better if he just keeps practicing. I was good like that when I was his age then it went to my head ... . I hope he has people that keep his head on straight and keep him focused. A little too much cutsy pie nonsense with the hats.
Actually the bell player was out of time on both "solo" moments. AND that is NOT the written temple block rhythm. But still an overall great performance. I'm just hyper critical due to having studied the score for my own performances of it.
My high school band played this. Likely my favorite piece we ever played.
Me too!
Wow.
I'm speechless. Geoff is certainly a very old soul bringing forth extreme musical talents from many past lives to this present one, his future as a professional performing genius artist will boggle the imagination.
Well done young man. Wonderful take on an American classic. Sheesh, the kid must be about 18 now?
16.
@@kellinsfilms2832 and by now he’s 22.
what great tone for his age or any age.
