      @JoshHovis Před 19 dny

      @@VicsYard yes there is a forward and reverse lever to the left up by the steering wheel. You can use it at high rpm but you have to have the clutch engaged in order to shift from forward to reverse and vice versus, and I always come to a complete stop before switching from forward to reverse to keep the wear on the machine down of course. Another nice feature is that it has synchronized gears so you can shift through the 4 low gears in low range and the 4 high gears in high range just like you would in a truck or car with a stick shift. You cannot shift from high to low ranges while moving. It has a throttle pedal and the right so it is very easy to shift gears if need be. It’s just a great tractor that is very easy and fun to drive and run and has a lot of power to get tasks done.

    I have watched this video over and over, got another question for you, thx for answering my first question, here’s my second question, have you plowed without the coulters on it? I ask because I have so many people that say they don’t have them or if they do have them, they take them off, what is your opinion on the coulters, anxiously awaiting your response and keep the videos coming fellow farmer.

    • @JoshHovis
      @JoshHovis Před 7 měsíci

      I have not plowed without coulters on it. In the big picture I’m sure whether the coulters are on or not the ground will get turned over. I think the coulters keep the sod cut before the plow share lifts and turns the ground giving it a cleaner edge. Other than that, the end result of preparing the ground for seed can be accomplished with or without. We have some areas we use a rototiller instead of the plows and the end result is very comparable. One other thing that comes to mind is if the ground is tilled or plowed every year or so I’m sure it will turn fairly easily either with or without the coulters on. If it is an area that has been let go for a while the coulters might help the machine a bit breaking through the sod. Hope this helps. I’m sure either way you’ll get it done. Thanks and good luck

    Hey Josh, I just got a Dearborn two roll plow exactly like yours except mine doesn’t have the coulters on it, I will will find them real soon in the future, here’s my question, does the front bar that holds your front coulter interfere with any part of the 3 point hitch when you raise or lower it?

    • @JoshHovis
      @JoshHovis Před 7 měsíci

      Yes, the front coulter did have the potential to interfere. There is an adjustment. I just loosened the bolt and adjusted it down further so the front coulter was a little lower and now it is good to go, so when it is raised up it won’t or can’t make contact with the tractor. That’s a good observation on your part. Luckily I noticed it right away and made the adjustment before I raised it the whole way and did any potential damage. Good luck with your set up. Thanks

    Have you ever encountered any soil in which the 2 bottom was too much? I'm looking for a plow to pull behind my CK35 (manual transmission), and am waffling between a single 16" or a two bottom 14" It's a 1 acre garden, so I wouldn't really be saving any time with two. My primary concern is for the machine.

    • @JoshHovis
      @JoshHovis Před rokem

      I have not had any issues with pulling a 2 bottom with this tractor. With a manual transmission you would actually have more power than I do with a hydrostatic transmission. I think you'd be fine with a 2 bottom. Of course it depends on how Rocky your soil is. If you are plowing super rocky soil you could always get a single bottom...it will just take you longer. Good luck
