  • Today we use the Farmall H and a set of international (IH) discs to work up a field we plowed a few weeks ago, and also pick some of the bigger stones out. Music written and performed by Josh Hovis

Nice to see old equipment back working again. Great use of rock resources...i do the same on my ranch. Every rock is a treasure....less mud when it rains. I just acquired a 1946 Avery model V tractor this year...got it running...changed all fluids 5 times...Hercules motor runs great. Been sitting outside not-running since '68.

Thanks! Yes these older tractors are great and pretty easy to work on as well. That's pretty amazing about getting your tractor running after sitting for 50 years! Wow! Thanks for watching!

Brings back memories I want to forget disking with an old tricycle front end we never had to put the blocks on the disc LMAO

I like running the old farmall's for fun. They still get the job done. Thanks for watching

Ah the memories - music to my ears, even the squealing of the brakes! We used that very same set up, though we called it a wheel harrow.

You have to pick up the rocks by hand? Can't they be raked out?
Just wondering if there's a better way.

Some of these rocks were pretty large to rake out. I was just picking the large rocks out by hand that could possibly damage equipment like the discs or the tiller. I suppose there is always a better way. A rock hound would probably be the easiest way, but I dont have one. Thanks for the comment

Great video and editing.... tight tractor turns and close ups of the ground work! Fast forward - very well done! Moving turned up rocks from the field to improve the road - I am adding that to my list of projects. Good job!

Thanks! Those Farmall's were made to make tight turns! And I'm always looking for rock to fill in holes in the trails! Thanks for the comment!

Nice disc, someone must've given it some TLC at some point. I haven't seen anyone bother to put notched discs on one this old before.

Yes they are in good shape. We bought them years ago from a lady and they had hardly ever been used. I know they are newer than the Farmall H we have, but not sure what year they were manufactured....but they do pretty well for us. Thanks for the comment!

@@JoshHovis I'm pretty sure IH started making that style of disc in the 30s and made them thru the 50s. As for the exact years, I haven't a clue. Information on implements is hard to come by.
