@BuildingIntegrity can add in impact CAFR (comprehensive annual financial report). of course one can argue the whole fiduciary aspect but to summarize the corp. took a % of premiums customers paid going back to the beginning (ex circa 1910) and set aside that % which they invested. over decades this/these accounts held tens and then hundreds of millions, or even into billions but the corp. won't touch these in times of crisis because of course they're in separate accounts from customer accounts. so one side says we're broke we need to raise premiums or not pay out for claims, while the other side has $$$ sitting there they keep reinvesting. if people push to audit they're stonewalled, or the firms doing the auditing are vested by repeat businesses to not make waves and at best if exposed will just point out that separate money is in accounts not related to customer's-claims. this is same for teacher's pensions(pers)etc.. they'll get told their pension is decreasing or they have to pay more into their retirement, while those separate accounts going back decades and decades are accruing massive amounts of profit.

They deny coverage now. House with shingle roof that's over 10 yrs old gets turned down. Period. That's why the number of roofers in the area has doubled. People are now putting on 40 yr metal roofs, so soon the insurance companies will find an excuse to deny insurance if a metal roof is, say, over 18 yrs old. Why? Because they CAN. Florida is the free for all state when it comes to companies like this. No consumer protection.

I have owned five homes since 1987. Currently own two. 37 years I've paid homeowners insurance. In 37 years my homeowners insurance has not covered one single thing in any of my homes. I worked for FEMA, in mitigatiin for a couple years during and after Katrina. The majority of the people I spoke to, who lost everything, thier insurance did not cover anything. They rebuilt from federal disaster relief Katrina grants. I was in Mississippi where the whole coast was basically wiped out. I was also in the office when the flood maps were updated. Lots of people found out thier policies didnt cover floods. Flood insurance is through the federal flood insurance program. Your insurance company may manage it, but you had to ask for it specifically. Lots of people were living in the coast and didnt realize they werent covered. Just remember, during hurricanes most of the coastal damage is caused by storm surge. Flood. Better check your policies to make sure you are civered if you live in a coastal area. As a member of the mitigation team, our job was to show and teach the people rebuilding how to mitigate damage from future hurricanes. If they didnt rebuild meeting the mitigation standards, their insurance wont cover that future damage.

Okay.I don't own a home right now, but all insurance is a scam. It's outright theft without using a gun or a mask. Yeah, you have to have insurance, but then when you need it, your premiums go up and they do very little to really fix the calls, It's like having car insurance. Everyone should know there's a thing called a C.L.U.E. report. It stands for comprehensive loss underwriters evaluation. Had a couple one time that was going to file a claim, because their gaming system was stolen . I immediately put a stop to that. If you end up with a clue report you will have substantially higher homeowners and car insurance rates!!! Do not file a claim, unless you absolutely have too. I have a friend who is a real estate agent. Back in 2010 they were in the process of closing on a sale. The underwriter saw that there was a claim with the homeowners insurance back in 2003. The owners had fully taken care of the issue at hand. Yet Nope, they would not approve the loan! Also know that you are not insured for flooding with your homeowners insurance!!! You have to procure that insurance through FEMA! Your homeowners insurance can ensure you for loss if there was a backup of sewage but that is a special additional rider that you have to have. So make sure you're reading the policies don't just trust with insurance agent tells you.

Liberty laid off a bunch of people. An acquaintances was told they had to let him go and thousands of others because of all the payouts that they had from the climate change and hurricanes in Florida. It ended up working out quite well for him. He went back to his prior employer. Starbucks ended up giving him a big pay raise. He's leading a whole entire crew of people. That's boosting his resume and he ended up sidestepping the whole it boondoggle that has been happening since this weekend. If you hadn't he would have been stuck having to clean up the IT mess of Azure. 😂 While making less money and being worried about losing his job. it's a win-win for him.

This guy is nuts. The building was built wrong and the building has to be taken down piece by piece its common sense. Each day each hour each minute this building is not being dismantled thousands of people could loose there lives if this building collapses. This guy is explaining this situation but only thing this guy isn't saying is the time it took to build and how much money the project costs. Money and deadlines come into play, and no contractor wants to loose money so people look the other way. Before they know it everything spiralled out of control. Its unbelievable they haven't taken this building down. Can we imagine the secrets behind this build. Wow

  • @brett76544

I can remember a few commercial buildings claims the company I worked for was doing the hazardous waste removal. The adjusters had no idea of the asbestos and tried using, it was a new law and not covered excuse. Then I pointed out that the building was built after 94 for the federal laws and after the state law was first enacted to carry out the federal law or well regulation. The part that was fun, I was a licensed producer in my state, but in NY it would be an agent and broker. After that flood we did over a dozen large and I mean large claims and it was almost till the end no one at the insurance companies knew I had an insurance license, even the clients' agents. Then at one meeting I ran into one of the companies' risk assessors I have worked with quite a bit. She started laughing and told everyone that I got the CIC designation in less than a year passing each course the 1st time which does not happen often. Little to say they gave up on almost everything. Still, it seems you have an issue with insurance in general. Sometimes it might be someone selling a customer a dwelling fire policy instead of a homeowner's policy or defined claims, vs excluded claims-based policies. One of the things I can remember doing was going over a policy with a customer with a CIC that trained me. The customer was happy, and I learned a ton. We had to add a rider that was worth a few dollars for the policy to address the owner's concern.

Agreed I pay an insane amount for homeowners insurance. On a monthly basis nearly as much as my mortgage and I live in Texas. The deductible is set up where it is a percentage; I think 2 %, of the value of the home. That pretty much much makes the policy useless unless there is a catastrophic loss. As my friends are paying off their homes they are dropping their insurance and instead are depending on their savings and retirement to pay for in any loss they may incur. I plan on doing the same as soon as my home is paid off.
