Agreed, finding a room to rent for a guy is tedious. U got 2 think about high rent, or rental increase every year or two. U have inconsiderate neighbours, thin walls, and if there is coffee shop downstairs... the noise! Look I know landlords wanna earn money but hey we are not here 4 vacation or parties! We're here to work and contribute to your ________. I remember there were some expats complaining about high rent. The question is do u really want the high rent to be like the situation like in Hong Kong?

as so far what you can do is buy an cheap and cozy hdb for about 500 k and pay it off with loans rather than paying rent as this is the advice i give out to all the people who want to live in singapore

The Sungei Road Trishaw Laksa is a big disappointment. I am surprised you rated it so high. I just went there recently.$12 for the bowl with crayfish is too much. The soup is diluted and bland. How does the crayfish contribute to the taste of the laksa? Will definitely not eat again. I think the laksa at EAT tastes better than them. Laksa should be judged by the gravy and the sambal, not the accompaniments.

eh, my rent is 1700k and it's the size of a queen bed (not sides) and door. Bathroom shared with 4. Pathetic. 600 will get you side by side bed sharing now and 1200 is an HDB room

They really like the color white. Everything looks the same. Copy pasta. Nothing original. I love singapore, but the construction is terrible because the buildings are as sterile as the ICU in a hospital. It's difficult to look at gorgeous European architecture that stood for a thousand years and then see buildings that are not designed to last 100 years, yet in many cases they cost far more money lol.

Need an update for this... I am Malaysian just moved into Singapore... A lot had changed! 600$ does not exist anymore(unless sharing), 1000$ is the norm(for small commom room)... I was lucky tho to secure 800$ in a good location & friendly landlord. It is a simple room with no aircon but it is still cozy for me.
