Tips for Making Amp and Cabinet Easier to Use

Oh wow, I don’t record guitars a whole lot, and the idea of using a dry (or, well, undistorted) guitar as a reverb source is not only very interesting, it sounds really good in the video. Hey great video, lots of ideas to try! One thing I don’t think you explained though- after you’ve selected some sections of loops that you like, do you then resample those sections into another new track? Or do you chop up / paste those sections within that same track. I know ultimately you’d get the same outcome, just wondering about workflow for you?
Hey, was this in reference to something in this video or another one perhaps? Only because I don't think I did any resampling in this demo. But either way, typically if I am "printing" effects or a certain change in sequence or any major change like that I will resample it into a new track. Mainly because then I can always go back to what I was originally working with, or I can completely ignore what I was working with and treat the new resampled thing as it's own entity. But this is the sort of thing where you can really follow your own instinct and do what makes the most sense for you!

Do you need Max for Live / the suite version to use all of your plugins?
Yes, they generally always use an instrument device or effects that are only in Suite. I think there might be one or two that use Drift and might be compatible with Standard, but I’ll have to check and get back to you.
Looking back it does look like everything is Suite only. I realize that's a bummer and I'll look into using Drift and a few of the stock intro devices on a rack that's compatible with every version in the future! I haven't gotten a chance to use them much yet but perhaps the new drum sampler will be of use for this sort of thing as well. I do have some free Drift presets which I have videos for and can be downloaded with a track I made with them here: czcams.com/video/zJ_jk70X38c/video.html

Are looking for tutorials for making percussive sounds or more putting them together in racks? See, that’s why I export all my MIDI to Cubase v3 on my Atari ST, and quantize and add grooves etc there, then bring the files into Ableton again. Those Berlin dudes are all smiles and cheap beer on the surface, but once you scratch that veneer, you end up their robotic slave!
