If the bbc brought top gear back today, they only way they could get away with the grunting chest thumping competative format, while sticking a round DEI peg in a square hole for their diversity quota - would be to have a boys club of very blokey men presenting, that flirt with being misogynist, BUT also have a segment with a bunch of very FEMINIST girly/ladette girls club type girls as well that flirt with being Misandrist. You could even mix things up, have two blokey guys and one very gay masculine girl in team one, and two really feminist girls, with one very gay feminine boy in the other team. They would each need to have their own dedicated segment in the top gear style but with repective bias's, but also there would need to be at least one segment where it is team VS team, either reviewing a vehicle, or racing or just doing a road trip down to the pub or something. Heck if you really wanted to double down on the humor, if the girls lose, they have to make a sandwich or vacuum a room or something, and if the guys lose they have to mow the girls lawn, or put out their trash or something. Or to triple down on the humor do it the other way, guys lose THEY have to make the sandwich/vacuum/sew on a button, girls lose THEY have to take out the trash/mow lawn/change tire or such. DEI does have some scope for humor, but only if you are playing both sides, so neither can complain. A bit like the youtube strategy where if you keep having trouble with copyright claims, then add so much copyrighted content from different IP's that they all end up being too busy fighting with each other for any single one to be able to dominate the copyright claim :P

I'm sure I've heard Andy say, on another kind of chat show, that the Argentina Porsche was re-registered......i.e, Top Gear had to have a different registration plate put on it? Whether or not that was the case, it really does seem odd that none of them noticed. Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed listening to Andy talk about the production itself, it was very interesting. I'm also very happy that Ben and Andy get along now and have moved on from the bitter period they had. Its a good lesson for everyone who has fallen out with someone in the past, not to hold a grudge.

Maybe one day I'll do it and have my own channel 🙂 I loved the Porsche Carrera Speedster as love my Porsches. Hopefully some day the wife will let me buy one. I love the shape of those older ones with the frog eye headlights. The only things I'm not keen on is the bumpers with the black shocks and ofcourse the US rear bumper.
