@@mendozillah6501 so all the updates happen inside the radio. You simply connect the radio to Internet either with WiFi or a SIM Card. Go to settings/System/Upgrade. Then you select the different firmware options (App or MCU) and it will tell you if there is an update available or if you are current.

@@victorialynn961 it can not be AT&T. Their network settings make getting our radio onto their network near impossible. Your best bet is Verizon or T-Mobile. We have had some customers use Boost Mobile as well.

@@victorialynn961 yep. The radio gives you 3 inputs. A rear, front, and a side. Or you can go with our multi cam adapter and get that number to 6 camera inputs.

@@alejandrohernandez-oj5vf yep. Uses the same app as the Gen 2. Replaces the wired dongle with this one.

@@terryhaley9680 so because the radio isn’t powered on by the factory remote start the radio can not command the AC. It’s like asking a computer to run a program while it’s powered off. Just can’t do it. You can try reaching out to the techs on our website and see if they have been able to create a loop in the CanBus to allow the AC to work in remote start. I know we have on some model vehicles. Not sure on the older F-150.

@LinksWellInc I have been emailing them but no solution yet. Is it with the radio system? The radio I had before, not stock, did do it.

@@terryhaley9680 correct. Because the factory radio wasn’t responsible for the AC controls. There was a completely different part in the truck responsible to control the climate controls. So when the factory remote start doesn’t power in the ACC circuit which the radio is on, the factory Climate controls panel gets its power separately through IGN and will work no problem. So it has power and can control. But because with our system they become one controlling part, if it isn’t powered on, again because the factory remote start doesn’t power on the ACC circuit, the radio doesn’t know to be on, so it don’t know to control anything. An aftermarket remote start that gives you the option to power the ACC circuit fixed the problem. With the factory it takes A lot of trying to work around the system not having power but being able to command.

I have an after market remote start added to my truck.

@@terryhaley9680 work with the company to have them power on the ACC circuit. If they power the ACC then the radio will power on and the climate will work.

@@TonyAndersonUSA1 this video is what we have for instructions. The install is quite simple, and because we sell to dealers who have trained technicians we don’t have printed install manuals in the packages of our radios.

@@Jh3454-df5vm the red light will light up because the factory radio is removed to the 911 assist can no longer locate you. There is no fix for this. It is what happens no mater what aftermarket radio you would install because the system no longer is getting info from the UConnect radio. The power off when the door opens is normal. This is how 99.9% of factory radios work it’s called “Retained Accessory Power” or “RAP”. It means your accessories like a radio will stay powered on after shut down until you open a door. If your factory radio didn’t it must have been an option you turned off or someone else before you turned off. If you go to the “Vehicle” icon. Hit the gear icon in there and look through the factory settings. Check for power off or RAP. That may be a feature you can change inside the truck settings that will make it work with key instead of RAP.

@LinksWellInc ah ok thank you. And ad for the factory fade not working on the ram alpine....if one was to connect the stock 8in and fade to one side would those settings be held when going back to the linkswell?

@@Unfinished-Business24 love hearing that you enjoy our products! The XL is for one type of customer. The Standard Gen 6 T-Style is for the other. We had people ask for bigger and others prefer the factory look of the original T-Style. This is why we make both.

@@iRemainNameless so they do know. Talked to them a couple years ago about that. Bare with my old memory, but I believe the reason they couldn’t had to do with the program not being able to recognize a swipe from the edge command while in split screen. I can ask again. But originally when they add the hide menu bars feature I reported that and they said it wasn’t possible.

@@adamfoster8131 the radio isn’t equipped with an eSIM. So there is no eSIM to use. You could try using an IMEI from an eSIM your have to get a physical sim programmed and install that to the radio though.

@@codywhite3582 yes it will. But with WiFi you will not be able to do CarPlay while being connected to the internet because wireless CarPlay use the WiFi connection.

@@LinksWellInc when I select Bluetooth phone it uses the links well mic and speakers if that’s what you are asking. However for some reason that mike won’t pick up when I’m in CarPlay. When I got the unit 2 years ago I worked hard to get it to work correctly, they sent me a new mic, but as I found out the mic was not the problem. I spent hours on the phone with support pulled and reinstalled the radio numerous times and just ended up disappointed. It works great on CarPlay with Waze and Sirus but I lose my mind when someone calls or texts

@@rtcfvgbsh if it’s our radio go to our video showing how to program the HVAC and verify the protocol and all is set correctly. Rebooting to safe mode though may be a much bidder firmware issue. But check the HVAC settings like I mention specifically the Protocol setting. If they are set correctly. You can try disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes. Or with the car running unplug the AC controls from the back of the radio. A CanBus link has been severed or is stuck. Have to reopen the signal. Or there is a base firmware file that corrupted or crashed.

@@watchurheadrc721 if you use any of the data based nav’s yes. So Google Maps, Waze and so on all require internet to work. If you get a download nav like the iGO upgrade we offer no. The benefits to data based nav’s is you always have the latest in mapping. Down side it only works when you have data. The benefits to downloaded mapping is it works no matter what but your mapping will get out dated and you will have to purchase updated maps.

@@jmbuschman1 I cant say. If you watch the video I talk about that. Some apps work perfect, some not all the way. Others not at all. So in theory yes it is possible. But if it’s not one we have tried ourselves I cannot say for sure.

@@sgsubramanian4625 it will not the Everest is right hand drive so the bezels are all backwards and won’t fit.

@@carolinaquinones142 both. The camera module is needed to turn the LVDS signal into a standard video signal. The multi cam is needed to control your extra cameras. So plug the output of the camera adapter into the rear input on the multi cam module.

Thanks for the info. One more thing I don’t see mentioned is the speaker that comes in the box. Is the speaker necessary for calls or will the radio use speakers in the car?
