Creative Chair Exercises for Enhanced Mobility
Join Power For Parkinson's instructor Lauren Lewis for some Creative Chair Exercises for Enhanced Mobility. For today's class you will drumsticks-knitting needles, wooden spoons or anything resembling sticks you can find around the house will work!
Bear with us as we test out our new green-screen to add some color and variation to our videos (We have some exciting new changes with that on the way!).
This video will tackle shuffling and bradykinesia, while also working on vocal strength and cognition.

      I'm glad you are taking the challenge and not getting frustrated. These exercises are DIFFICULT and they are cognitively challenging....thats why we call them cardio and cognition hahahahaha. Stick with it. It will get easier as you strengthen your brain and mobility. let me know about your progress. I have faith you will get better.....believe me!

    Loved it but struggled with feet and legs at the same time then I fell left while stretching but I’m ok - you mopped my preworkout tears. I love you!

    Great workout. I was able to keep up with you for the whole class, but movements that would have been easy a year ago are now a challenge, due to coordination and range of motion issues. But I intend to keep at it. Love P4P videos!

    Thank you Lauren! It is very important session. I had a major problem with the ball. It was constantly slipping from hands. I was chasing after all over the room and returning the playback, instead concentrating on the exercises. Getting very upset and using not nice expressions. Until my wife came to the rescue. She told me to wet the fingers. It resolved the problem immediately. Simple like the story about Columbus egg.

    Where can I buy the Next Drive as I am living outside the Sydney / Australia I have the freezing whenever at home or go out. The most dangerous place is walking on the roads to cross the traffic light

    Lauren Kelly from Sydney Australia winter here and 25 degrees Celsius today. That makes me feel good but to top it off so did your class today. I absolutely loved it I used wooden spoons but I couldn’t tap them too hard because my Daughter and my husband were still asleep.     Hi Lauren and my PFP family, I enjoyed the routine challenging but it will do our brain wonder . I used wooden kitchen spoons as my drums sticks . I think the twisting needs practice but that’s just me recovering from back fusion surgery as mentioned early on but I still trying to keep at least with one or two different sessions like Polly or seated yoga to switched and try out different exercises a day . Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for such a wonderful exercises style to address different symptoms of Parkinson’s challenges ❤🥰😍🙏🏼🙏🏼

      Good for you Nadia - I think, since you had back fusion surgery, you may want to just move your arms to the side of the chair instead of a full trunk twist. You will still be crossing the mid-line (so important for Parkinson's) and getting a good amount of benefit from the pattern of taping right, facing front, tapping left etc. Let me know if that helps.
