AC Tips To Keep Cool This Summer | Western Heating Air and Plumbing
Brent with Western Heating+Air+Plumbing details three ways to increase your AC's efficiency and lower your power bill in the hot summer months.
The first tip is keep up on regular maintenance. This includes scheduling checkups with a professional technician and changing out filters to be sure the system is working at its best. The second tip is to do minor adjustments to your thermostat settings so the AC isn't working as hard when it doesn't need to be. The third tip is to use window coverings and blinds to keep the outside heat from coming in as much and forcing the unit to work harder. To schedule a technician for regular maintenance on your AC, contact Western Heating+Air+Plumbing today!

Is your summertime power bill really high? Here are three tips to boost the efficiency of your AC unit.
Hi. I'm Brent with Western Heating, Air and Plumbing. We really want you to get the most efficiency out of your AC unit.
Tip number one: regular maintenance. Just like any vehicle, your air conditioner needs regular upkeep to perform at its best. Make sure to clean or replace your air filters every 1 to 3 months. A clogged air filter can restrict air flow, forcing your AC to work harder and consume more energy. Additionally, schedule an annual professional maintenance checkup to inspect the unit, clean the coils, and to ensure that all of your components are in top condition.
Tip number two: optimize your thermostat settings. Did you know that adjusting your thermostat by just a few degrees can significantly impact your energy bills? During the summer, set your thermostat to a comfortable temperature while you're at home, but raise it a few degrees when you're away or asleep. Investing in a smart thermostat or programmable thermostat allows you to
automate these adjustments, ensuring that your AC isn't running unnecessarily when you don't need it.
Tip number three: utilize blinds. Closing blinds in the hot afternoon hours can really reduce the
solar gain and help relieve some strain from your air conditioner.
And there you have it; three simple tips to improve the efficiency of your air conditioner and
keep your home comfortable without breaking the bank. Remember to schedule regular maintenance, optimize your thermostat settings, and utilize fans and ventilation to maximize your AC's performance. With our Western club membership, we automatically schedule visits to come out twice a year once for a routine maintenance for your AC.

zhlédnutí 187Před 14 dny
Brent with Western Heating Air Plumbing discusses frequent AC issues you can check yourself before calling in a technician. If the air flow coming from your AC unit is weaker than normal, it's usually because of a dirty filter or one that's become clogged. So the first thing to try is replacing the filters on schedule and ensuring the filter is the right size and type for your system. If the ai...
Refrigerant Explanation

Brent with Western Heating Air Plumbing discusses what refrigerant is and how it should function for your AC system. AC systems are closed loop systems; so refrigerant that absorbs heat from inside and releases it outside should never run out. Brent explains that if you're having to replace your refrigerant, even if it's only once a summer, it's an indicator that something needs to be repaired ...

    Our furnace is linking water underneath. The air conditioner man came out. He told us that we needed a water pump. He told us. Instead of letting water run down the pipe. Like it was doing. He will connect the pipe fm furnace. Run pipe outside the furnace. Run it into the bathroom. So it can be drained into our toilet. I do not lk that idea. Will this mess up my plumping? Thanks

    Ice on the outdoor coils (condenser) is normal when running in heat mode, but excessive ice is not… Furthermore, excessive ice is probably not a dirty indoor filter and is more likely a problem with the outdoor coil, system charge, or the defrost controller… Alternatively, the system was just not designed for the humidity and low ambient temperatures where it is installed and is therefore unable to handle the heating load… I say this as you don’t mention which mode while speaking, but the clip makes it clear it is a heat pump in heating mode as a non working system in cooling mode wouldn’t have ice on the condenser during the cooling season…

  • @pathfinder290
    @pathfinder290 Před měsícem

    Use a hose with a sprayer attachment you need to get penetration inside the coils otherwise it's just a surface clean. If you got the money to spend get nucalgon condensing coil cleaner and the coil gun for it. Rinse surface dirt off and apply the coil cleaner it'll bubble up pushing any dirt inside the coils out. Then rinse thoroughly. Notes; the mentioned coil cleaner is corrosive so do not get it on your skin or eyes, Also if your unit is microchannel use just Straight water.

    • @Floridaman457
      @Floridaman457 Před měsícem

      Nu Calgon sucks buddy. Triple D everything . Also, you realize you’re talking to an HVAC contractor, right ? Make that two now. 😂 Sorry to say it’s not the cleaner that kills your coils though. It’s the lack of rinsing. It’s takes a lot of water to remove coil cleaner. And finally, he obviously has the unit in his shop because he just replaced it and now he is going clean it and sell it .

    • @pathfinder290
      @pathfinder290 Před měsícem

      @Floridaman457 am a commercial/industrial hvac tech of going on 5 years. Company I work for uses Calgon almost exclusively. And yes I know it's the lack of rising that'll weaken the aluminum and ruin the fins, but if you're claim to clean coils is to "brush and rinse with hose water" I'd say that's not going to be enough to get them clean, rule of thumb I do is clean till you see through them. Coil cleaner makes that easier I recommended Nucalgon cause it's what I'm familiar with diversetech is another but it'll function about the same use a sprayer to get a mixture let it foam to push the dirt through and rinse thoroughly.

    • @FrenchBeefCDN
      @FrenchBeefCDN Před měsícem

      as a chiller mechanic for 12 years I dont care what you use or how you clean my coils as long as theyre clean. Don't be a Particular Peter and just clean the coils and move on. Its far from that serious. Like arguing how to change filters...
