  • Brent with Western Heating+Air+Plumbing discusses what level your humidifier should be set at for optimal humidity in your home.
The time of year and outside temperature can be factors. But generally the experts suggest keeping your humidity level below 40% to avoid condensation on walls or windows. Brent prefers to keep his humidity level at 35%, increasing it only briefly when someone in the home is sick.
Once the level has been set, humidifiers take some time, usually 2 to 3 days, to reach that desired level. However, keeping the humidity level high in certain seasons--especially warmer days in the winter or in the fall or spring--can be harder to do. The experts also recommend keeping windows and doors closed to make it easier to maintain the level you want.

Ever wonder what humidity level your home should be at? Here are a few tips.
I'm Brent with Western Heating, Air, and Plumbing here to talk about humidifier levels. So you have a humidifier. What level should you keep it at? Well, based on outdoor temperatures, we
usually recommend maintaining a humidity level below 40%. Anything above that and you run the risk of having water condense on your windows or walls. I usually maintain around 35% humidity in my home. That seems to be the ideal level to avoid any water condensing on walls.
However, if I have a sick child, or if I'm not feeling well myself sometimes I'll crank it up to 40- 45%, let it get nice and steamy in the house, and then turn it down.
A humidifier like this one depends on your furnace in order to evaporate water into your air. So it can take a little time for your humidity to get to to the desired humidity level. So your humidistat is really one of those set it and forget it kind of things. I usually set my humidifier to around 35% and then let it do its thing. It takes 2 to 3 days to get to the desired humidity level. Maintaining high humidity levels during the fall and spring or during warm weather days in the wintertime can be somewhat difficult. We usually recommend keeping windows and doors closed and limit indoor-to-outdoor activities.
If you're interested in adding humidity to your home or having help with your current humidifier please feel free to reach out to Western Heating, Air, and Plumbing.

When you guys going to fix my air conditioner that you installed? It failed completely due to the faulty rubber hoses you used for the install instead of the proper copper tubing.
