Oberheim OB-Xa Vintage Synths Emulations - For Yamaha MODX & Montage
The Oberheim OB-Xa emulation for Yamaha MODX (+) and Montage (M) pays homage to the legendary analog synthesizer that defined the sound of the '80s and some other vintage synths like Jupiter-8, Moog and CS-80.
Capturing the rich, warm tones and lush textures of the original OB-Xa, this emulation brings the classic Oberheim sound into the digital realm.

A remake of Queen’s Under Pressure using virtual instruments only. The arrangement was done based on an acapella of Freddie and David Bowie. The most difficult part was setting the acapella to the grid in Logic Pro X since they did not record it with a metronome (which brings more felling to it btw). I will release a tutorial soon! @@whattherec I had a MODX a few years ago and did a 1999 patch from scratch. Sounded pretty good, but I traded up to get the new Montage M. With that AN-x engine I was able to add a few more synth layers and now that patch sounds HUGE!

Not sure but the theory is the same. I think as long as the synth has a usb to device port it will be possible. However, check with Roland first if this will not damage your synth ! 🙏

If I just want to connect my digitone, can I just use the a/d input and use four parts for the 4 different tracks on the digitone? I'm sequencing this with a modern mpc.
I believe you can. As long as you are able to address different MIDI channels for each track.

why are the drums from garage band, their so obviously triggered drums. everything else is great though! 0:45 he’s hitting the crash in the video but the sound is clearly the hi-hat. and the snare drum fill before the verse is bad, it’s triggered and like meshed together
😄 Not from Garage Band at all! But we used some SSD in the mix to correct some issues.

I know it is possible with a regular footswitch, but only for going forward, I think. With this one, I got it to work only in Performance mode. Please let me know if you succeed.

A very interesting take with the "subdued" vocal in this cover. Not to take anything away from Geddy Lee, but when sung in a more subdued manner, I think one appreciates Peart's ability not only as percussionist ( I am a drummer) but even more so as a song writer. A great song leads to many attempts to cover it in many ways, as if to wring out the hidden full potential of the song. This is an excellent cover as it didn't try to overplay it.
The female singer reminds me of the one in Fleesh in their excellent cover of The Pass. Similar tone.

I wanted to use us b but I couldn't find it for mac book 10.9.5. on the Yamaha website otherwise another question we sent free sounds I compressed mi on usb key but I can't download it into the synthesizer thank you
Hi ! You can use a USB hub as long as it a powered one but you will connect it directly to your MODX/Montage not your Mac. Regarding the files, you just need to upload any library to your usb drive, plug it in the USB hub, and load the file via MODX/Montage. I hope that helps !

@@ozcandurmusoglu Yep. I tested with two brands that did not work. I learned Coolhood (from my own experience) and Arzopa work fine.
