2008 Expedition Bad Fuel Injector
zhlédnutí 1,7KPřed 3 lety
More trouble with rough idle. Turned out to be bad fuel injector. It had been throwing a generic misfire code p0301 but then this time it finally gave me p0201 for the injector circuit. Very easy to install and got the injector at the dealer for about $60. Here are a couple links on past videos I did about other rough idle and timing issues czcams.com/video/tJlnkdLJHkY/video.html czcams.com/vid...
4th gen ram emblem on 2nd gen dodge
zhlédnutí 489Před 3 lety
I've been fixing up the 99 dodge 2500 and finally got the paint done and time for the emblems. I decided to go with 4th gen style because they look the best in my opinion. I found on ebay for $100. It came with front ram and Cummins badge, didn't need them though. side note: if anyone knows an option for wheel to wheel step bars for quad cab long bed let me know
PVC fishing rod holders for boat
zhlédnutí 11KPřed 4 lety
All you need is: 1.5" pvc, 2"x1/8" aluminum bar stock, U bolts, ss bolts with nuts, wood to make a jig and a trim router with top mount bearing. Good luck!
Broken bolt in wake tower
zhlédnutí 95Před 4 lety
I broke a SS bolt off in an aluminum bracket for my wake tower. Couldn't weld on a nut with a 90amp wire wilder. Good old vice grips to the rescue.
Stihl ms39 chainsaw bad cylinder
zhlédnutí 59Před 4 lety
Engine revved up real high then stopped and wouldn't restart. Pull cord very easy to pull like there is no compression. Piston and cylinder scored and rings not making a deal, no compression.
Tahoe 215 boat battery switch

Simple switch to have everything run from one battery or another or both. I usually only run one and have the other for back up.
2008 Expedition 5.4L 3v timing update
zhlédnutí 95Před 4 lety
Changed VCT solenoids a few years ago and then had to do the infamous timing job on these engines. Sorry I didn't get it on video but will link a good one, also link my video changing VCT solenoids. The Ford tech videos are extremely valuable, watch them all the way through. There were just a couple of things different in my engine compartment I wanted to make you all aware of. 1999 dodge ram 2500 oil pan gasket
zhlédnutí 18KPřed 4 lety
This is a 5.9L gas engine. I thought the rear main seal might be leaking also but turned out to just be the oil pan gasket. There was no oil getting back on the torque converter. Be sure to use some liquid gasket on the half moon corners and seams where the front cover meets the block.
2008 expedition bilstein shocks
zhlédnutí 833Před 4 lety
The expedition has about 156k miles with original shocks. It has quite a bit of sway and bounce and rumble with the god awful late winter potholes. I went with bilstein 4600 shock absorbers. These are coil over springs so you'll need a set of spring compressors that can be rented at auto store. Got the shocks on Amazon, best price I found. I had to cut through old shock to get it apart and used...
Ken tool tpms repair kit
zhlédnutí 3,7KPřed 4 lety
I found a manufacturer's video but none with someone actually using the tool. Overall it worked and saved me a little money and even more time. There are a few helpful hints in my video, the manufacturer's video assumes every step goes perfect and as we know that's often not the case. Thank you and good luck. www.amazon.com/Ken-Tool-29975-TPMS-Stem-Repair/dp/B01HOXQ14Y
2008 expedition VCT solenoid replacement
zhlédnutí 8KPřed 4 lety
I couldn't find anything for the 08, I think it was a split year with some changes to engine design, valve covers had to be removed and that was the hardest part, replace them with hopes of fixing a rough idle I started experiencing during a long road trip. It did fix it for a couple of years but it started again. From what I've found online it's really important to use Ford OEM parts on intern...

Did your engine tick at low rpm acceleration?? That’s what I’m trying to diagnose right now. At less than 2000rpm while accelerating I hear a tick, beyond that the tick goes away.

    • @cantfindfixes7683
      @cantfindfixes7683 Před 3 lety

Sorry to get back with you so late, the ticking is probably a stretched or loose timing chain probably from blown gasket on chain tensioners and or broken chain guides, I had to do the whole timing job eventually. Can be done yourself for around $1200 with oem parts and oil pump upgrade and only a couple specialty tools. Way cheaper than having it done at a shop. Good luck. I have a 97 dodge b2500 v6 van. I followed alldata to remove right motor mount nut, and loosen the left, and jack up engine to make clearance for oil pan. But I'm still an inch or three short, and engine won't go up anymore. There isn't space for jacking anywhere except towards the front. Any tips to help me make that clearance to remove the pan? Also, there is a bottom mount nut, and a nut on the top. I removed/lossened the tops, as they were easy to reach, and the bottom ones are near impossible to get a wrench around. I tried to support and jack up transmission along with engine to help clearance... but still no dice. And there are no vids for 97 dodge b2500 oil pan removals, and could use any help/advice.

Why Ford did not stay with the earlier egg shaped opening in the valve cover, so you could change the VCTs without pulling the valve cover, is criminal.

Good video 👍 I’m having basically the same problem with mine. But not quite as much oil on the bottom of the engine, I was almost certain it is the rear main seal. But after watching your video I’m thinking it may only be the pan gasket, I have to add oil anywhere from once a few days to once every week and a half depending on how much i drive it.
