Finally! I've been researching this engine, and the more I searched the more confused I became. Basically, this M42 double overhead cam engine has the M40 style intake. It made no sense. The car also has 4-wheel disc brakes, steel wheels with hubcaps, and a sunroof. I don't think it has the coil-on-plug feature since I can see two units feeding two plugs and installed on the fender. Cheap vinyl interior and dash cracked into about fifty pieces, and a roof seal leak. It's a sun-baby. Thanks for revealing the unique position of your car.

I just bought one off Bring a Trailer. Paid $32,000 for it, but it's all original and only has 34,000 miles on it. I can't wait to get it delivered!

My grandfather recently passed away I helped him build the driveway for his Porsche 944 and we put a canopy over it to stay out of the sun we took it out every now and then now that my uncle moved into that house he took over the title even though my uncle is technically not his son and was not raised by him and my grandpa hated him my uncle is abusive to my grandmother instead of giving me my grandfather‘s car who raised me he wants to sell me something for free for $5000 and it doesn’t even run anymore I don’t know anything about cars other than how to drive and maintain but I would give anything to somebody who helped me get that car back so I could hold onto my grandfather’s Legacy I miss him so much

Awesome Sport Fury, reminds me of my first car which was a '68 Sport Fury as well, only a convertible with a 440/4spd and all power options. Definitely not the normal first car for a 16 year old, really miss that wonderful land yacht.

Had a nearly identical car as my first car back in '90. Aside from the really short gearing on the highway, it was probably my favorite car I've ever owned. That would be my one change. Making 5th gear a little taller. The chassis was excellent though. Interesting to see the red interior as I didn't think they came with the black exterior. Mine was the black/blue stripes interior with black exterior. Love what you've done though. Beautiful car with timeless styling.

I'm the second owner of a 2005 V70R 6spd manual in candy apple red with 176K miles on the clock (had 145K when I bought it). I have replaced with stock OEM parts: Control arms Shocks and electronically controlled struts Fuel pump Turbocharger Fuel injectors and pressure regulator Thermostat Power steering pump Alternator Motor mounts Tires I have put in approximately $1.5K each year over 5 years, which is nothing compared to a new car payment. Next up is repainting the peeling clear coat. It goes like a bat out of Hell and I can pretty much beat anything off the line and I especially love the HP and torque in 3rd and 5th gears when I need tactical speed.

I had a 76 Fiat 124 Spider and it had THOSE wheels. This X1/9 is awesome.

Really cool build. I had played around the idea of swapping in a eco boost in to my car but my ears and brain can't comprehend it 😂. I listen to this guy ripping his 550 all the time after work and there is no way I want my car sounding like that. Old school sbf it is.

These are very neat cars and the love this guy has put into it is great. I had one years ago and enjoyed that M42 tremendously. Had a 318is as well but that 4 door was neat. I don’t even want to know what either one of those cars cost nowadays.

The 318is is such a cool model imo, and this build is fantastic, props to the owner. The video is great too, keep it up!
