    “The roman rite is constantly evolving” is simply misleading, if George is trying to justify why the TLM isn’t the Mass of the Ages. There were minor adjustments in the liturgy through the centuries, but the overall structure of the liturgy was not radically changed for centuries until the Novus Ordo. I would think that, let’s say, a St. Thomas Aquinas or a St. Catherine of Siena would still recognize and participate in a Mass celebrated in the 1962 Missal, even with its minor revisions, because the entire structure was not changed. However, they probably wouldn’t recognize a Mass done in Novus Ordo. Additionally, “evolving” denotes an organic addition or improvement to the basic, preexisting form, not a radical shift. Lastly, poorly sung hymns and bad Latin are not essential elements of the Mass and does not deter a faithful Catholic seeking to worship in a more traditional manner from attending the Latin Mass. I’m convinced that the TLM is the “Mass of the Ages” which inspired countless people to be great saints. Judging by its fruits, I know it can’t be bad.

    God bless you! It has completely destroyed my family. What I witnessed at the palliative care unit where my father accepted MAID was pure evil. I did not stay for the crime, but everyone else accepted his choice (all devout Catholics). The worst part, I was told to not mention anything to the priest who would be conducting his funeral. I was rejected and shunned from assisting and participating to my own father’s funeral because I objected to MAID. The priest gave my father a full mass thinking he had died naturally….I was threaten by family and to this day suffer from great post traumatic stress from the whole situation. I was mostly greatly disturbed by the lack of faith from my so called Catholic family. Many are not telling the priests the truth because they want an ordinary mass, my heart is destroyed beyond words. People are becoming lukewarm with the faith, all playing a facade. Our foundation is crumbling, praying for people to understand the gravity of such actions. God’s grace and peace be with you 🕊️

The traditional account is that traders of Judea arrived at Cranganore, an ancient port near Cochin in 562 BCE and India accepted Christianity ( Syrian Christians in India) in the first century itself even before the Europe Accepted Christianity.

    I just don’t buy the notion that the complete and radical reform of the Mass in the way it occurred was some needed and great thing. It’s like if we suddenly achieved TradWorld and started doing revisionism saying there was basically nothing redeemable about the NO and it was always celebrated badly, which isn’t true. Whichever way you want to spin it the fact is that after Vatican II Mass attendance dropped precipitously and now less self-identified Catholics believe in the real presence of the Christ in the sacrament than before.

    What is really laughable is that he talks about all the liturgies like they are completely and entirely different. What he doesn't say is there's only one paragraph missing in the 62 missal from the missal used in the 50's vs. Several omissions made after the 40's but from the 1500's to the 40's the Mass was almost entirely unchanged. Ambrosian Rite, Mozarabic Rite Et Al are all strongly based on the Gregorian Liturgy especially in their formulation of the Canon. You can look all these Liturgies up online and you will notice aside from a handful of prayers they are all very similar. You cannot say that at all for the Modern Mass. The biggest issues and accusations people made about the Gregorian Liturgy was that Latin was hiding all the information and the priests used Latin to hide the scriptures. In the modern era it is exactly that, the clergy hinges their arguements on the idea that no one is going to look this shit up because the laity is too stupid to learn a new language. So the intent is to supress intellectual thought by making the ancient texts inaccessable and silencing the teachings of the early church fathers which have not been published by an authorized Catholic Intellectual body in ages. They have literally become the monster that they accused the Tridentine Church of being. This is the worst form of bearing false witness. By no means am I saying that the Modern Church is invalid but I will reiterate Christ's commandment "Do as they say, Not as they do." I will take my Mass Catholic and only attend the Modern Mass whenever there's no way to schedule around the Tridentine Mass. Why? Simply put, because I am a Catholic, not a Lutheran. No offense to Lutherans, just don't muddle the mixture. If you want a Lutheran Mass, put it into an ordinariate like they did the Anglicans and this whole dispute comes to an end.

  • @justinjanecka3203
    @justinjanecka3203 Před měsícem

    The "parking lot catastrophe" sounds like poor management and lack of care by the pastor/bishop which is more or less the same lack of care that continues on in the Modern Church. People talking in the pews blatantly in the middle of the Mass, cell phones going off in complete lack of care for the transubstanciation, people leaving after the Eucharist, people being completely half-assed in their approach to the altar, and we wonder why it could be this way when we have fine examples of modern Catholicism in Cardinals Wuerl and McCarrick. If the Modern Church wants to be the bare minimum, fine but you can't mask the fact that in each diocese you can count on one hand the number of churches where parishioners actually are well formed and understand what is taking place. To me it's all just a continuation of the very poor formation that took place when transitioning to the modern Church. As much as you want to blow your trumphet and tell people "Not to buy into bad news" the fact remains that the modern church is a bloated corpse on the verge of complete and utter collapse and without the Institutional Church which you yourself claim to be completely and utterly destroyed there will no longer be any real Catholicism.

    When people say “Mass of the Ages”, they don’t mean a copy of the Mass in the early Church 🙄Frankly, obsessing over the earliest type of Mass possible is what led to the reform (by an academic committee nonetheless), so it is an ironic accusation against traditionalists. We want the apostolic line of the TLM, a line that, yes, goes through the ages of the Church and it is not captured by any given generation.

  • @Christian-ez5zf

    Honestly, this is very sad to see. When you say that the reason people go to latin mass is for the "awe and wonder", it shows how out of touch you are with the people who attend. I know people can make a case for a reverent N.O., which I believe there are some (very few). But one thing that I would like to point out is the reverence the priests are trained to have in the traditional liturgy. One example out of many, is they are trained to bow their heads at the name of Jesus every time it is said ( this should be the minimum requirement as we are expected of even greater reverence according to Philippians 2:10 just at the name of our Savior). And to genuflect every time they cross the tabernacle. That is something that diocesan and modern priests are not trained to do. I was raised in Catholic school my entire life, and never saw these gestures from any of the priests. The genuflection when approaching the tabernacle to take out our Lord was the only time genuflections were done. Just food for thought.

    The Traditional Latin Mass provides everything that the secular world cannot. By trying to bring down the mass to a secular level you are hurting the laity, not to mention the holy priests who have to desperately try to keep the service reverent while Clarissa goes into a Disney princess-like ballad during communion. Ugh.

    I grew up in the 1980s in an all-Catholic community and went to Catholic school, kinder to 12th grade. Soon after graduation, I left the faith. I recently returned but was unsure of what to do since I was heart broken by what I saw in the masses I attended (they were all Novus Ordo, but I didn't even know that terminology back then). So, I was about to take a step back until someone told me about the Traditional Latin Mass. I didn't walk, I ran back to the Church and I am dying a Catholic. From cynical atheist to Traditional Catholic. How else can that happen but by the miraculous acts of God and the Lex Orandi, Lex Credendi, Lex Vivendi exemplified in the Tridentine Mass?

  • @ClassWalton
    @ClassWalton Před 2 měsíci

    We take the point that "Awe and wonder can be part of a Novus Ordo Mass", and that's great, but that's just not what we experience the vast majority of the time. If you're blessed to live near an Oratorian reverent Novus Ordo or something similar, that's wonderful, and God bless those priests and parishes, but most of us don't have that option nearby. And anyway, everyone knows that when the Novus Ordo is done reverently, it is only reverent in so much as it looks, smells and sounds a bit like the TLM: the TLM is the measure of the NO. In any case, as you say, the Mass of '62 is celebrated better now than it was in the past - doesn't that sound like all the more reason to go to the TLM now more than ever? It also concedes the point that Mass can be done "better"; therefore, do we not have the duty to seek out the Mass which is done "better" or preferably "best"? How likely is that to be the local parish N.O? There's also so much more to this question, not least of all the fact that you can go along to the TLM with 7 children including 2 crying little ones and not look out of place.

    George, I agree the Extraordinary form of the Mass celebrated today is better than the variant I remember sixty years ago, but I was ten and didn’t understand much of anything when I was ten. But, most of adolescence and adult life I was steeped in the Novus Ordo and Vatican II Mass and my experience is that the best Novus Ordo Mass is not even close to a bad Usus Antiquior Mass. Sorry, has an educated man you should know the two liturgies are not the same in word and theology.
