the most disapointing thing about the last kirsten book is the fact the the entire seires seems to have an emphasis on material culture, how kirsten has so few items that she treasures, her family has their belongings from sweeden and theyre slowly accumulating more, and then its all destroyed. but aparently it doesnt matter cause now they have a nice new house and furniture; and sure maybe its the whole things dont matter people do moral or something, but it feels sort of like a betrayel and now we have a bunch of stuff for her doll version that she doesn't even have anymore On a more positive note though- amazing video!! its so thourough and sensitive to the history, it feels like a perfect slice into what it was like to be a fan of kirsten as a little girl

More specifically, for merchandising purposes (stocking a store with merchandise) items will sell better if they are color coordinated. Colors affect emotions and this affects what people buy. It's capitalist psychology. Food products most often have red and/or blue on the label because it hasbeen scientificly proven that people buy more of these products. I call it "Kraft Mac N'Cheese phenomenon." People will not buy Mac N'Cheese in a green box unless it's "vegan, organic, gluten free." Green means "tastes bad but is good for you." Red means "tastes good" and blue means "makes you happy." This is how our brains interpret packages. For merchandising (creating and selling merchandise) this also means "Generic princess Halloween costume" is not the right princess dress. Think about this... what does snow white wear? What does Dorothy Gale wear? What does Wonder Woman wear? Each of these questions has only 1 correct answer. And this means that the Halloween costumes are always recognized 100% Now picture a bottle of Tide, a can of Pesi and one Coke. What color is Mr. Clean's shirt? The answer is "branding." 😅 You memorized these products because those companies made you memorize them. Disney has the same intention: merchandising (advertising), subsection: branding.

My dolls except for when I was way younger like about the ages 3 and 4 I was always careful with my dolls, like the fake American girl dolls (my parents didn't have the money for the real deal) when we sold them one person was like "Wow this is in great condition" I am not lying when I say there hair was brushed, clothes not ripped, almost all the accessories weren't lost (I was a five yearold not a colector)but yet all those dolls were still loved by me and have special places in my heart❤
