Elbow pain can be a real hindrance, especially if it interferes with your daily activities or favorite sports. In the latest video, Dr. Anne takes us through the ins and outs of tennis elbow, a common condition that affects many people, not just tennis players.
Tennis elbow, or lateral epicondylitis, is characterized by pain on the outside of the elbow. It's often caused by repetitive wrist extension, which can happen not only in sports like tennis but also in everyday activities such as typing or using a hammer. Dr. Anne also touches on golfer's elbow, which affects the inside of the elbow, providing a comprehensive overview of elbow pain conditions.
One of the highlights of the episode is Dr. Anne's explanation of the Graston technique. This method involves using specialized instruments to perform soft tissue mobilization. It's designed to break up adhesions and muscle spasms in the affected area, promoting better blood flow and faster healing. Dr. Anne provides a step-by-step demonstration, showing how the technique can alleviate pain and improve function.
Dr. Anne emphasizes that tennis elbow is a chronic overuse injury, meaning it develops over time due to repetitive stress on the tendons. This makes it crucial to address the condition early and implement effective treatments like the Graston technique. By increasing blood flow and stimulating healing, this method can significantly reduce pain and improve recovery times.
Whether you're an athlete, a desk worker, or someone who uses their hands frequently for work, this episode offers valuable insights into managing and treating tennis elbow. Dr. Anne's expertise and practical advice make it a must-watch for anyone dealing with elbow pain.
Don't let elbow pain hold you back! Tune in to the full episode to learn more about tennis elbow, its causes, symptoms, and the Graston technique. Your journey to pain-free living starts here.

Should you be able to maintain this pressure while doing daily activities while standing and walking even if doing them for long periods? What kind of band is that in the video?

The band is a piece of generic theraband. You don't normally walk around performing this exercise. The more you practice it, the more it becomes natural and something you can turn on when you need it in daily life.

Are we talking about an elite runner like Bolt or every day advice for the average population? Everything depends on your goals. Were you originally asking which distance should be done JUST ONCE all out, for long term health? Cardiovascular health? Joint health? I would argue that for the average person, doing a few rounds of 100m is probably better for long term health generally speaking, and is easier to start doing vs 400m. But obviously everything depends on your goals.
