i bought this album today, it is awesome,i may have heard a bit of compression but so what,its a friggin great album,i got the black vinyl version with one sheet of stickers and a lyric booklet.

I remember seeing a compilation titled Metal Massacre...and for some reason that title just made me laugh! But yeah, when you were a kid with no money, comp collections were an economical way to go. KTEL and Ronco!

Preferably the Frankfurt, Germany 6/30. <> They have been releasing some amazing shows in the last year. Forget the classic boots. The new ones are definitely the way to go. Would like to see episodes on the bootlegs of Cream's 1967 show at the Grande in Detroit and Jimi Hendrix's 1st show in Berkeley 1970. The 2nd was officially released, but I like the 1st better.

Hey Vance, Catching up on your videos. Another great pick. Good old Scorpions....hmmm...Sun Plaza, Japan....isnt that where they did Tokyo Tapes?? Maybe taken from that? Im not sure...im not the biggest expert on the Scorps...The US Festival stuff is legendary...love that whole concert. But its a cool concept,,,having that track sheet is a nice touch. I've never managed to see SCORPIONS live but they have performed here in my hometown 3 times. The 1st time was when they were supporting yheir BLACKOUT album back in 1983. The 2nd time was in the summer of 1998. Me and my friend were outside the concert area (Oulu baseball stadium) so we heard them playing live. In 2013 I missed the whole thing. Weird! Hard to say which one is their best album: Blackout or Love At Fist Sting, Jarkko/MyVinylBar

Hey Vance! First time I saw them was at B.Ginnings in Schaumburg. They had played Chicago Fest, but I skipped the madness and went to that show the following night. Ah yes, the advent of the "side boob." Love that you showed the ticket. It always amazes me when I do the inflation adjustment on tickets. I saw Dylan with the Heartbreakers at Poplar Creek back in the 80's for like $20 - and that was a seat in the pavilion. Alice Cooper for $6.50 at the Amphitheatre in 1973, and on and on and on......BTW: according to the inflation calculator, the $6.50 I paid in 73 for Alice, should now be $46.00. I'll be paying a lot more than that when I see him in Rockford on August 7. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Cheers!

Scorpions have to have released the most "banned" album covers of any other band. My first copy of Lovedrive I owned was the blue scorpion alternate cover reissue.

BB VK. Did you see the Chicago Cubs Stones release for Hackney? Checking out the Metal Meltdown and Metal Rage comps. It used to be pretty easy to categorize. Crazy how much metal has changed over the years. There are literally so many heavy metal genres that it gets tough telling one from another. Industrial, viking, metalcore, progressive, speed, neoclassical, pirate and alien deathcore are just a few of the hundreds of metal genres. Crazy. George W and Marilyn M going for a drive. Very cool Metal Comps! I often buy soundtracks for the Nostalgia feel as well. I Picked up the albums to “Youngblood,” & “The Flamingo Kid.” over the years just bc I loved the movies. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Great Video.

Lots of people look down on comps. I really like them though I don’t have any Metal ones. I like the Bangladesh box set. Though I watch the DVD more than I listen to the record.

A Genesis fan who "favors the Phil Collins years" is not a Genesis fan.

The new stones is pretty good I also recently picked it up. Those comps are good sometimes they have rare songs or one hit wonders that are hard to find

Love those Metal comps. Oddly enough one of the records I purged this year was the Earthquake soundtrack. Reckless is always a good time. I always spend more than expected there.

We saw the Stones in Oakland many years ago on a rainy night after a day in Wine Country! I thought it was their last tour then!!! Never say never in the music scene!!😂🤣✌️

Hey Vance, Happy 4th to ya!! For me the first one I bought was 1983’s “Genesis” but I was familiar with Abacab and Duke. I have the 4 80’s on vinyl, but only a 3CD greatest hits where I was introduced to the early stuff, I love the early stuff and have pre ordered all the Acoustic Sounds 75th series Genesis records. Abacab has 4 color variation covers, incl a spine letter like Zeppelins Outdoor LP (mine is a D) Cheers

Great collection. Like you, I much prefer the Collins era of Genesis. That run from Duke through Invisible Touch was killer.

Hello BB VK. I have been surrounded by Gabriel, Genesis and Crimson fans/collectors for the last 47 years. It started when I went to see Led Zeppelin in 1977. My cousin Mark, his brother Matt and all of their friends were huge fans of those three bands. More so than the Blimp. I did not get it at the time. At the time I couldn't understand why anyone would choose the "Lamb Lies Down" or Crimson's "Red" over "Physical Graffiti". But I was only sixteen back then. What did I know? It took me a little longer to appreciate all three bands. <> I did like ABACAB. It may be my favorite Genesis release. I liked the Phil Collins period of Genesis over Gabriel. But I liked Gabriel's solo stuff over everything that Genesis did. <> Nice to hear that you took your sister to see the show in 1983. I actually did not know that they came in four different covers. Abacab was my 1st Genesis album too. I had it on cassette back in the 80's. I would later see them on the Invisible Touch tour in 86. That was a great show. Makes me want to dig in my Genesis vinyl collection!

I currently own no Genesis on vinyl (only the best of on CD), but back in the day I did own Abacab (likewise my first) and Three Sides Live. :Loving this series you're doing, and might "steal" the idea and launch a series too....if you don't mind. Sounds fun.

Do you remember if Freddie sang 'We Will Rock You' on the shoulders of someone dressed as Darth Vader, during the encore? I ask as I've seen photos of Freddie in black shorts riding Darth Vader, at the subsequent shows in Detroit and Cleveland on the 20th and 21st

Even if some people say that these tracks are culls from other albums there is some top notch stuff here. Led Zeppelin leftovers are better than most band's best material

I very much love this record. I have many different versions. Loud love is one of my top songs of theirs. I saw them many times up until 92 and then not again until 2013. I’d liked Soundgarden better at the time because live I could understand the words and nirvana I couldn’t understand the words a few years later I would like nirvana more but still Soundgarden is a top band..
