Being diagnosed with PTSD, this book made me cry so many times. I'm crying writing this right now. I'm usually more eloquent with words when I love something but I can't even bring myself to say more right now. I just finished it last night. It almost breaks my heart because I don't know if I'll ever be as healed as Feyre.

I get your love of the romance. I’m not usually into romance and cushiness but OMG these books. Iv fallen in love with them. I cannot stop re-reading the trilogy.

Ok but, how did they know it would be useful for Feyre to know that Tamlin has a heart of stone? Like, how did they know there would specifically be a trial for her to stab him in the heart? And it seems like this is really the only bit of information she got from “listening” carefully.

I just discovered this series and I finished A Court of Mist and Fury minutes ago. I made some tea and thought to myself "why did that book affect me so much?" I loved the story, the world etc but it really affected me deeply. Then I realised - I am currently in therapy for my CPTSD and I struggle to get my thoughts together to tell my trauma therapist how I feel. It was like SJM reached into my little brain and helped me thread my thoughts together. I immediately looked up reviews and yours was the first I found. When I tell you I was nodding and tearing up as you spoke! Thank you for this review. I am sorry we have this in common but I am reaching out across the ocean from Scotland to you to let you know that you're not alone. Thank you. I am wishing you love

I have adhd too and I hadn’t wrote anything anything in like almost 1 year and a half…. Because I kept letting my insecurities get the best of me so I never continued my novel and getting to my desk to write on my computer get har at some day…. I think this routine is a good one I might not get up that early though because being outside for a walk at 6 where I am wellll not really great but maybe at 7 am then go on the walk then write …. I will see also I love the whole « do nothing or write » idea but with adhd can be pretty hard

I enjoyed this book on a completely different level, as I used it as an escape rather than reflect in on my own mental health journey. I think of it as self care to sometimes dive into a fantasy world and get lost in something that is just not about me. Nevertheless some quotes spoke directly to my soul. And just after finishing it I begin to realize why. And after viewing your video and your story, I want to read it again, and again, and again. What a book! You are absolutely right, it's a work of art!

Cassian is very physical. He shows his love by touch. Nesta had to be shown she mattered. The smut was necessary in that sense.

I hate it here so I will go to secret gardens in my mind-Taylor Swift. That’s the best way I can describe my reading life. I tried reading faster but it wasn’t as helpful as I thought. A lot of speed reading is only skimming. Then it just turns reading into a chore I have to do? Instead of a choice if that makes sense. Especially when reading fiction, I like to picture it in my head and get to know the characters. Good reading is more about the fluency instead of the speed. Reading at my own pace is much more enjoyable. Also Middle Earth got me into fantasy too 😊

Feyre is one of those characters I have grown so attached to. I feel like she’s a mirror of myself in a lot of aspects. I have not felt this way about a character since meeting Katniss for the first time. It’s crazy how much a character can mean to you

This particular book was so damn triggering for me in the beginning of it. My previous marriage I was not allowed to go out on my own. He didn’t want to leave the house, especially didn’t want to leave the small town we lived in. I hadn’t seen any of the state I had moved to to be with him. This lasted for 7 years. I left, found someone who was so supportive. I ended up being able to explore and experience way more in 6 months than I ever had in those 7 years. I think it’s important to be reminded that it’s okay to start again and you never have to be stuck with someone or in a situation where you are unhappy.

This has to be the best "Hero's Journey" breakdown I've seen. It's great to hear this as a conversation too which let's a viewer grasp the content easier, perhaps? Best part is that you two discuss the outlined sections with examples of Harry Potter, LOTR, or Star Wars...very handy way of giving the audience some concrete, known, cases where these sections are used! Well done! Be cool to have this type of breakdown for other story types?
