    I so enjoyed the opening of Barker's Price is Right. I never realized the meaning behind it all, but always thought to myself, whoever thought of this really enjoys what they are doing. The focus on the set and lights was a great touch. It definitely made me want to be there. Its a lost art that you don't see as much today.

    My favorite part of this entire show, is from when it begins, to when Bob says, Let's take a look at the first item up for bid on The Price is Right. The pricing games are fun, as is the big wheel, but my most absolute favorite part is what I first described. I love it when the doors open and he comes out. Like I'd run out to the living room, just to see that whole thing play out, and then go off and do my own thing for rest of the day.

    For me, I think the show lost a little something when it moved from CBS Television City to Haven Studios in Glendale. The stairs at CBS that contestants ran up on in order to get on stage don’t exist at the new studio and it kind of takes a bit of energy away from the show.

    Bob Barker was the star of the show. To me he came across as the proverbial car salesman that's trying to sell you something (the show) despite giving things away in the process. Bob always had an aura of "the untouchable star" that most of the time he kept in check. But once in a while he would say something that showed his true arrogance. Drew is the host, not the star. He's just like the guy next door that's there to play the game with all of us. He's goofy, he's awkward, he laughs at his own jokes way too much. But there's no arrogance like Bob had. Drew doesn't come across as a salesman.

    Never noticed that the scene of Jimmy and Chuck getting back to their room is not in blue. Every other flashback in the whole show is in blue. So it not being blue, indicates that is “the present”. That is what is still going on in Jimmy’s mind

    I think only half of Kim's story is true. She has learned from Jimmy that the best lies have a hint of truth. Yes, she likely moved around a lot as a kid and didn't have a lot of stability. But the bit about her bare, frozen feet? Like she doesnt own any shoes at all? That was the step she took that made her story unbelievable even to the older gentleman she's trying to trick. Kim knows how to be like Saul in theory, but isnt quite there in practice.

  • @Dycehart
    @Dycehart Před 2 měsíci

    The misogyny in this show isn't blatant or obvious in the way a lot of other suit-oriented shows try to be. The men around Kim claim to support her professionally, but as a human being they still look down at her and expect her to fall in line. They remove her autonomy and assume that another man is making her choices for her. They remove her humanity and re-create her in their minds as Lady Justice herself. Kim is a Good PersonTM so she will naturally do As The Law Says and what is Right, regardless of her own personhood. Nobody sees Kim as she is, just as the men in her life want her to be. I think that's why she takes part in becoming Slipping Kimmy and creating Saul Goodman, to assert herself as her own person with her own goals (all of which become tools to punish herself later when it goes to shit.)

  • @Dycehart

    I love the use of blue and yellow/orange in this show. For me, the blue flower shows that Nacho's essence was that of goodness. Though he was planted in a sea of dead yellow and browns (the cartel, working around the law), Nacho is a blue flower. He had a good heart that survives despite how his environment did not support that. Kim and Jimmy's fishtank is blue, with that little hint of the yellow goldfish to show that not everyone is all good or all bad. There's a bit of both that blue and yellow in all our characters.

    We’re so happy you’re back and take all the time you need to drop the next one. One thing I noticed about the earring scene is Kim seeing her mom for who she truly is was like Saul seeing his dad become a sheep in S2 ep7 and promising to never be on that side of the game
