I had a 86 XJ. It looked great, drove great, was comfortable and I was happy. Until I had to start buying parts for it. OMG it doesn't nickle and dime you to death, it hundreds and thousands you to death. Traded it in for a used Nissan Maxima at the Jaguar dealer. Nissan guy ever since 😊 Not as good looking and not as high quality interior however the Nissan never broke, everything always worked, it was actually faster than the Jaguar and got better mileage. Just not the "wow" factor when you pull up somewhere. Oh well, I bought a nicer home with some of the money I saved with the Nissan. All it ever needed was usual maintenance, oil, filters etc. The only thing I ever had to do with it and the four other Nissans I've owned in the last 30 years is replace headlight bulbs 😊 Your Jaguar in the video makes me have good memories up till the point I know you saved many thousands of dollars doing all that work yourself. But you do have a very sweet Jaguar now. ❤

Diesel fuel has a very short "shelf life" even with additives. Any fuel over 12 months old can damage your engine. Propane on the other hand has an UNLIMITED "shelf life" my propane generator is still using fuel I purchased 13 YEARS ago! It only runs during power outages so the 180 gallons in my 250 gallon tank is still over 40% full after at least a dozen outages over the years. Propane is also much cheaper than diesel fuel... less than half the price per gallon. Also, no starting issues at any temperature.

On Sunday, a guy is coming to pick my Daimler Super V8 for £750.00. Body is rough but it runs great and interior. Been sat 6 years and started up first time after charging the old battery. Next step up from the XJR but the 4.0 litre, not 4.2. Happy to see someone get it and put it back on the road.😊👍

Therebis one fatal flaw in this video. The main bearings can explode if done how you say. On the AJ133 Essex Engine (who produced this motor in Canada) introduced Crank case/ shaft Matrixing. It was more time efficient to have a robot measure each bearing location and tell the operator which sizes to use (they produced all kinds of custom bearings) The person I bought my RR from watched a CZcams video and swapped the bearing without surfacing the crank properly and after 10k the motor exploded. If your going to swap the bearing regrind the crank! They can have up to a 30 thou difference!

You don’t know How to check oil level, you have to pull out the stick then celan it and later you can put it inside again and then you can pull out again and check oil level

Being in New York, I’d bet there was a bit of payoff to the adjuster to total the car. The customer didn’t want to pay a couple of grand to have the suspension module replaced on a car that was getting older.
