At-Home Breath Hold Training for Freedivers - C02 and 02 Tables
Want to increase your breath-hold? Follow these simple workouts to become more comfortable underwater! C02 and 02 tables will help increase your overall breath-hold, become more comfortable while holding your breath, and experience fewer contractions after long dives.
Whether you're a freediver, spearfisherman, enjoy diving just for fun, or want to learn more - these workouts are for you!
My goal with this video is to give you an idea of how to set up some of your breath-hold tables down the road. The times I used are designed to be a decent starting point for even those with little experience.

Spearfishing | Feast or Famine - Final Days Fishing the Tuamotus
zhlédnutí 1,2KPřed měsícem
These were our last few days diving the Tuamotu islands. With resources running low since the supply ship was on holiday, it came down to gathering food for ourselves and honestly, we sucked. Spearfishing is not an easy sport. It takes a lot of practice and patience. Of course, out here there are many other variables to consider, the biggest being the shark population. So many sharks live in th...
Isle Tuamotu - A Cinematic Film | Sony A1

Isle Tuamotu is a cinematic short film I worked on for several weeks. This film showcases the beautiful Tuamotu islands throughout French Polynesia. I have wanted to produce underwater films like this for years but never really gave it any effort behind the camera or in front of the computer. Still, after countless hours and over 80 different clips, I finally put together my first cinematic sho...

Aloha friends! In this week's episode follow along as we land a few fish for food, head to the beach to gather coconuts to use in cooking, and check out some of the local shops in the area. In this video, I also make one of my favorite fish meals - Poisson Cru. Poisson Cru is a French Polynesian specialty! A raw fish meal with fresh vegetables and fresh coconut milk. Similar to Hawaiian-style p...

Awesome video Josh
Thanks Terry!
Great footage. Great story! I enjoyed learning about the less "romantic" aspects but reality of sailing, such as the down time, balance issues, cleaning and the cool anchor setup.
Thanks guys!!
Nice video
Thanks 🤘🏽🤙🏽
Man you’re awesome 🤩 Your approach is great and your explanation is super cool and helpful 🩵
Cheeee! Appreciate it!
where could i buy the weight belt D-ring . great video keep it up. new subscriber here i just went through your other video and you are making seriously good content.
Appreciate it! I’ve got a link in the video description for one of the D-rings on Amazon. Or your local dive shop should have something. Can find other brands or variations if you just search on google. I wanna say Rob Allen sells something similar
Well done mate, this was really cool to watch, I enjoyed the footage. Your editing was clever, great pacing. Thanks for sharing the entertainment. Just Subbed - No pressure 🤣🤣. Keep up the good work, Dive safe, have fun! 👍🤿😁🍻
Cheers!! Thank you so much!
That Repurpose the old wetsuit for gun cover was clever, like that. Cheers for sharing the video! Top stuff. Dive safe, have fun! 👍😁🍻🤿
Appreciate it! Yeah, I'm all about repurposing old gear. I've thrown away many old wetsuits and now I wish I had used them for things like that!
@@JoshDaMunoz I was thinking the same thing when I was watching this video - DOH!😁😁
I did not know baby shampoo could be used as defog. I have seen a lot of people either burn or use coke-a-cola on the inside of their mask, but was wondering if you had any recommendations on that? I read some people say that it is removing the protection layer for if the mask were to shatter, but seems super popular still!
I always burn my masks yeah! But it's still important to use a defogger...even if its just your spit. If you burn your mask just be careful to not burn the sides of the mask. Only the lenses of the mask! And then wipe away with a paper towel.
Great tips!
🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
I’ve seen that knife before!
Such a rad video! Would love to hear your opinions on what you would recommend to someone who is looking to get into this stuff as a noob :)
Might just have to add that to the list of videos to create!
I've just got into spearfishing this year and loving it. I broughta rob allen 120cm and it is too big for a noob get the rob allen cobia 90cm which is half the price
Josh is the best.
😅🤣😀
If you pull the fish to you as soon as you shoot it you won't have that problem. That is absolutely not the way to pull a fishing after shooting it.
I was pulling the fish as hard and as fast as I could! It was actually a pretty big rainbow runner. I was hardly making it to the surface because I was pulling so hard against the fish. Plus with the breakaway set up I had to find the line next to me. Its not like it was on the reel.
that shit did all the work getting away from the shark haha
That place is magic.🪄So untouched.
It truly is!!
Finally a useful video! Thank you! Greetings from Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain
Cheeee 🙏🏽 appreciate it! Cheers from Hawaii 🤙🏽
Isnt the reason why people use mono is for the penetration, If its blue water should you prioritize penetration? I mean a 30L float provides 30kg of resistance and crimped mono breaks just above 100kg (or well the stuff Rob Allen tested), why sacrifice penetration for 30kg more breaking strain that is not required?
I have personally never heard that theory about penetration. What I will say is that in blue water especially its not always likely that my shaft even goes entirely through the fish and out the other side. Sometimes its only just enough to have my floppers or slip tip engage. So either line, wouldn't have been pushed through the fish because the shaft wasn't pushed through the fish far enough...if that makes sense!
@@JoshDaMunoz Theres a video on youtube by majdq8 called spearfishing shooting line testing. Setup is kept identical and the only thing that changes is the shooting line and shots are taken in a pool. Worth the watch. If I remember correctly 2mm dyneema loses like 20cm of penetration and even 1.2mm cable has better penetration than it, due to the amount of extra drag. I have no clue, I'm not a bluewater spearfisherman, I shoot off reef fish but made me make changes to my setups
@@JSJ-mn8wg That was a super intersting video!
You should show how you make your flashers. The throwing one too cause that thing is golden!!!!
Ohhhh yes! It is on the list of videos to make!

Sick video! Amazing whale action 😍
My man!
Awesome video man! I really felt the struggle watching the video and know that feeling of being in a funk.
Thank you bro!
The highest of highs and the lowest of lows 😂
When the sharks snag your catch, its there a threat of the hook getting lodged in the sharks mouth ? :-(
Yeah, the sharks definitely get hooked by the fishermen at times. It's why we never fish with a hook and line close to these areas.
@@JoshDaMunoz Ok, but when you spear throw and impale a fish and then the shark goes after it and succeeds .. does the shark leave with the hook in their mouth ? or is it a different system ?
@@wolfcruise different system The shaft will come out. The shark will either cut the line that holds the entire shaft and it falls off. Or they will pull the fish off the whole system and then you get your gear back at least.
Love it !! what great content Josh !!
Thanks Claire!
Absolutely Epic dude. Givin a like, comment, subscribe, and sending this link along! Absolutely epic. Gained a fan man. Keep it up! Never stop creating, we'll watch you grow brother! Inspiring me to get back into it.
Man thank you so much! Glad I can help inspire! Really appreciate your comment!
This video was super helpful! Do you advise against keeping the housing on for repeated dives over several days? Doing a liveaboard soon and I purchased the USB/charger port so that I don’t have to de-assemble in between diving days. Wondering if the vacuum seal is enough to keep all of the water out of the housing.
Usually, the batteries last a long time. If you don't need to change the camera battery, leave it! I've left mine on for multiple days at a time. But I do always travel with spare batteries just in case! But for sure the vacuum seal is enough!
absolute unit
My new favorite descriptive word.
Great story. I've never seen so many sharks.
Glad you enjoyed it! Yes the sharks are awesome if you’re taking photos and video. Not so great if you’re trying to catch dinner!
Definitely , and they've also demonstrated that they can be remarkably aggressive. I didn't notice if the lemons sharks nictitating membranes were covering their eyes, but they looked like they were setting up for a bite.
@@mattwarning8699 Yeah they came guns blazing 😅
Great vid sorry about the sharks, i talked to a commercial spearo on fakarava they simply have no option but to stone the fish…keep posting!
Thank you bro! Yeah man we eventually gave up on Fakarava and just left 😅 Its very difficult down there.
WOWWWWW!!!
Awesome! Nicely done on the music and background sounds as well!
Thank you guys!!
definitely used the “one friend hides with all the gear, while the others check in” strategy 😂👌
living vicariously through you is getting me through finals week 😂🥲📚
Epic footage! Such a fun few weeks having you guys onboard 🙌🏼
That was amazing.
Appreciate it!!
