Air Still Pro - Small Batch Distillation Reflux & Pot Still in One
Today I'm stepping into the world of home distilling.
The Air Still Pro is my first still. In this one, I'll go over its key features and show you how to set it up so you know what to expect if you decide to get one for yourself. I'll be honest, making spirits at home is some of the most fun I've had in a long time. It's quite possible I could be hooked on making plain old base spirits, as well as fancier drinks. This machine will do it all - Whiskey, Rum, Brandy, Bourbon, Vodka, Gin and probably even more I'm not mentioning. It's also on sale currently linked below 👇

Duofiller Semi Automatic Can Filler Review
Some "pro tips" I've learned over the years: Turbo Yeast was designed for making ethanol fuel FAST (i.e. stressed out yeast). It's not very good at making palatable spirits. You can clean the packing in place with a vinegar run. But foreshots & early heads (which you toss anyway) do that also. You can get "neutral-ish" in 1x distillation, but doing several stripping runs & then a spirit run will make it better. And since you're making beer already, do a sugarhead on the spent grains (~8 lbs/5 gal water). Makes a fine whiskey! Especially if you invert the sugar. I have a Franziskaner whiskey that is getting pretty phenomenol after only 6 months on oak.
Thank you very much I really appreciate it 🍻🍻
I wish I was still into brewing beer. The now Ex-W made me get rid of all my equipment because she didn't like my hobby. Wish I got rid of her first, 😂😂
💯😂
Please, no more dark vids. Thank you sirr.
🍻🍻
Do you have a problem with your pro lid gasket coming off or leaking? I cannot get mine to seal and it always pops into the kettle. The lid also is a tight fit onto the kettle. Like it has to be pushed on as the lip of the kettle scrapes against the lip of the lid. I'm not sure if this is just a problem with mine or all. It cannot be used for distillation as it doesn't seal.
cant wait to watch your vids of using it. Im a brewer myself and have been looking at getting this. At this stage i dont want a big setup to run with my brewzilla. Just hoping to make a bottle every now and then so this would be perfect
Hopefully I'll have the first of those videos out in the next week or two 🍻🍻

LOVE IT!! Can't wait to see your journey with the AirStill Pro, we love it - for distilling water obviously! Thanks for the mention!! 😉
It's my pleasure and thank you very very much 🍻🍻🍻
Mine makes awesome distilled water.
Yes 💯🍻
Thanks for the video! Some minor feedback: the music is a bit loud it kinda drowns out your voiceover.
I would agree. I got that audio level a little high 🍻
I use the regular AirStill for making water for my CPAP. Works great!
I'd chucked that up to one of its mini uses 🍻
Mmmm shine ☀️

What’s the little bag of teeth for?
Lol those are ceramic boil enhancers
So many parts, nooks and crannies to clean, but they're worth it for brew quality.
🍻🍻
There was some awesome advice provided on this channel. Ill start checking the communities for single vessel brewing and other items thanks.
Thank you very much 🍻🍻🍻
Dude, solid info on the adjustments needed. Thank you
Of course, I do believe it's gotten a little better over the years Keep that in mind 🍻
One of may favorite recipes (and beers) - it's fun to try different yeasts on it, too! The Verdant IPA yeast makes it really dry and a little hazy - I called it Hazy Hog.
That sounds pretty good 🍻🍻
hey! where did you get your recirculation maniflod? thanks
Here's a link to it. What type of system are you using it in ? www.morebeer.com/products/ss-brewtech-mash-recirculation-manifold.html?a_aid=PortlyGentleman
Does it have a US plug, or did you need to use some sort of adapter on the Australian plug?
I didn't cover this but it comes with a power cord. Once it's available in the States it will come with a United States plug.. as is I'm sure with every market it's going to be sold in.
@@PortlyGentleman I’m looking to import one from Australia since it looks like they won’t be available in Canada for a while. Is it possible to use the Australian plug with a simple travel adapter, or is something else required because they use 240V in Australia?
@@WarTortoiseGaming absolutely you can get an adapter. It's 24 volt power supply
could you use this in a garage?
I don't think I would. You definitely want to wait to vent
The bubbling of the tomatoes is actually boiling... it occurs when the vapour pressure of the water equals/exceeds the ambient pressure. That's why water boils at a lower temperature high up in the mountains where atmospheric pressure is less than sea-level. In the case of this chamber vacuum machine, water will begin to boil when the pressure reaches 2.67 kPa (0.387 psi) and the temperature is 22 C (72F). Atmospheric (ambient) pressure at sea-level is 101.4 kPa (14.7 psi).
Yes
Just started watching your channel. Although your equipment is much more sophisticated than mine, you give a great viewer experience! You pack in quite a bit of information.
Thank you very much 🍻🍻
Commenting to boost the algorithm and because I love these. Also, I know it's an edge case, but any chance that brewbuilt X3 will fit in the RAPT fermentation fridge? Still happy with my Spike CF10 in there, but that band clamp around the whole body of it is eventually gonna give out and an 8" tri-clover looks niiiiice.
Nevermind, found the dimensions. Sadly just a bit too rotund to fit width-wise but fine height-wise. I resemble that shortcoming too, so no harm no foul. :D Beer looks amazing and since Pliny is a favorite on my rotation, adding this one as well.
🍻🍻
Like seeing the Brewzilla in action. Taken me 5 or 6 brews in my 35L to get the process dialed in. Kegland's CIP cleaning head makes that process a snap.
No doubt it's not a whole world going from my 65 l Brewzilla to the 100 l. There are some subtle differences that need to be accounted for though. 🍻🍻
I was looking at the recipe to brew this blind pig, IPA and notice 2 ounces of magnum at 60 minutes when you put this into BeerSmith it comes up very high on the IBU is that 2 ounces correct because I cut it down to 1 ounce and I have the same IBU at the end of the brew😅
Hops and ibus is a whole other topic. My friend don't even get me started. Hop utilization is a strange thing. It depends on your system greatly lol
🕶 🐖 🍺 👂 😋
You know it 🍻
I would love to see a Russian River Happy Hops kit. Great video as always 🍻
You and me both 🍻
Looks great. Might have to try it
I highly recommend it 🍻
Awesome system and video.

These do not come with the 2 small cubbies anymore.
That's too bad and I bet the price is probably the same
@@PortlyGentleman sure is. Teslas great customer service simply said let us know if you want to set up a return.
🤣
Sad with companies that steal ideas from others. I would never buy kegland's products
I get your point. Having said that, competition breeds innovation that will benefit all of us. I'm wondering 🤔 are you using a Motorola cell phone as they released the first cell phones? 🍻🍻🍻
How does it compare to the duofiller gen3?
That's going to be an interesting video 🍻
I had a Duofiller, sold it, and my canner because it was an endless source of frustration. I imagine this will be a great solution.
What did you find? Most frustrating ?
@@PortlyGentlemanmostly the calibration aspect. It was not worth banging out anything less than a whole batch because of the time & beer waste. It wasn’t a good fit in my brewery. Worth stating that my DF was an early V1, and I missed the pinch valve upgrade.
CopyLand
😮💨
This appears to solve some of my struggles with the duofiller.
I can see that there's also some issues that it's going to solve that haven't yet been disclosed I'm pretty sure 🍻🍻
What struggles I am considering one?
@@andrevangijsel957 I have struggled with calibration. I need to spend more time with it though.
Definitely the display makes it easier 🍻
@@PortlyGentleman That’s what I took away from your review.
Looks like a new toy I need to go with my Cannular Pro. 🍻
They definitely go together quite well 🍻🍻
I know kegland is known for knocking off other manufacturers products, but this filler is probably some of the worst i've seen. It's a blatant ripoff of the duofiller/monofiller.
Ok ...... 🍻
Great , need to ship to the uk , we would be interested 🔥
I'd start checking with the MaltMiller immediately 🍻🍻
Nicely done Bradley. I need to get my review done yet, ive been waiting on European release. You made some great points 🍻🍻🍻
I can't wait to watch it! Hopefully it's availability is sooner than later everywhere. Thank you 🍻🍻
Don't know if I'll ever get into canning my beer but if I do this looks like a good consideration
I definitely understand that viewpoint. It's got further functionality. I believe it hasn't yet been specified publicly. I see it in the future making The filling process even easier to manage.
