I learned to drive in a series 3 (Army) in 1976. I’ve owned Landys ever since I left the army in 1987, and am currently the custodian of a 1992 200Tdi. I love them, i hate them, they make me grin, they make me cry….but I’ll never be without one until I die.
Question: my Siii 109 has locking hubs and I notice this Siii 88" does not. I ALWAYS get caught out in mud with diff locks unlocked - embarrassing. Would it be OK to just leave the diff-locks on permanently?
Recommend you get those rear defogger guards from jimny style
I have the same problem did you manage to find a soolution ??
What module did you put in the boot, replacing CD Changer?
Nice to have a thorough review from a UK user. I have an SZ5 with 57000 miles on it. No problems so far. Great little car.
Перед бампер дебильний, неровний в низу.
Great vid mate, question, the bonnet insulation does it require any drilling to fit, cheers 👍
Many year ago I had a Series 3 with a V8 engine fitted. Had it for eight years and went to Billing every year for off road fun, Really miss it and sorry I ever sold it but it was only used as a fun vehicle by me.Happy days.
Brilliant driver and that wonderful V8 engine - so tuneable 😍
I got a multitool that does everything these do except for lacking a scissors. (I've never needed scissors when I've been in a situation where the only thing I had to work with was a multitool.) It cost under $25, every tool is accessible without opening the pliers. It's from Wetols and the only penalty is it weighs more than I care to carry on my person, so I put it in my bag. BYW, any mutitool assembled with screws can be modified so individual locking blades don't lock using a rotary tool diamond burr to cut back the lock tab or the back notch of the blade..
The last Bibury is a leatherman surge clone. I have the "gold" version, the handle scales look different on mine and I dont have a coating. Mine works perfectly well. Everything locks, everythings sharp, no malfunctions. The pliers are only a little stiff, thats all.
Great review straight to the point. I miss the old juice lineup of leatherman, I carry the signal now due to it being a little lighter and smaller profile
Mr Pond was an PR dream, articulate, clever, hilariously dry, enormously likable and above all, a fantastic and spectacular driver in what ever he was driving at anytime. Sad loss and gone much to early.
Hardcore. When there's virtually nothing to break, and so simple to fix if anything does happen, I guess you can drive it as hard as that.
I have front and rear Ashcroft ATB's in my P38....it has eliminated the ABS and Traction Control system...is that normal??
With lifepo4, they do charge to 3.6v. But they immediately drop to around 3.35v after charging stops. Could this be what you’re seeing?
On paper alkaline may be 1.5-1.6v. But in reality they immediate drop to under 1.2v under this type of load. I don’t imagine this light will last long on 8 cells. I’m surprised it didn’t insta-flash. Must have some high resistance in the switch
Those bi-pin bulbs with adapter are also called t1.5. So you can look for that. The streamlight TL-3 bulb works in those and should work well with your seven eneloops. I’m running a custom bulb from a guy named Tad. But he’s been out of business for a few years. It’s about 30% brighter than the one you’re using. I currently have one in a 3C, running on 2 18650s, with an aluminum reflector and glass lens
I’m still running on my 3.7v kaidomain bulb from about 8 years ago. I have 3 backups but never needed them. Probably have at least 30H on mine
109,000 on the first clutch. had mine (a 2003) for 7 years and its cost more in tax than repairs over that time. No bad for a 21 year old car. It has been off road frequently and never let me down.
TBH though its mainly used on road as a response vehicle, due to the vast boot capacity. Occasionally it has been used to tow out morons.
Surefire seems to end up replacing MagLite in the UK.
I tried these same maneuvers in an MG Midget. Not quite as successful.
A good and honest review fitting for the little Jimny marvel. 🙌🏼
Bei House make one of the nicest rear bumpers if you can get your hands on one. Uses factory lights, has recovery points and a hitch receiver.
A poor man's Stratos - no?
Where exactly habe you mounted this? I'm considering doing this one on my van, but unsure if below the plate will be too low..
sft40 seems to be the most versatile led
Great vid, thanks, answered all my questions!
i have the 3Q2023 production AA Maglight, a little big, but up to date emitter and it offers a candle mode by swapping the head and tail around. The candle mode is great for gently lighting a tent or reading a map when you do not want to stand up. I use it to find things in my bedroom without waking the wife. It can handle swimming, but its not made for scuba or anything like that. This is a good review, just wanted to point out the latest features. Made in the USA and prices very reasonable in the USA. I personally will never buy made in China (PRC) again, and am quite happy with this flashlight. I am going to buy a second for my Go-Bag.
Great it just happened to me cos of flat battery thanks very much worked a treat

THANKS for the review! MagLites are dang tough and awesome! I guess they have improved them since yours was made because mine has 230 lumens...
RGB switch can be used for battery status, as well as the RGB aux lights.
I really like maglites. I have a few and they're well made. There are brighter torches but maglite are made to last. My 1st Maglite (2d incandescant) still going strong after 20 years on its original bulb. They're comfy to carry and durable. But most importantly? They look cool
I had a Freelander 1, but now drive a Freelander 2 at work. It’s got 218k miles on it, road tyres and is our work van - it will surprise you where we take it and it amazes me how ell it goes
Back in the day, I managed to use a 36 V 10 A projector lamp to build a flashlight with a backpack. The handheld projector was connected to a backpack made of three 12 Volt, 7 Ah gel batteries. The gizmo was able to run 30 minutes, and the light it made, was matter of legends...
I thought at the first service they would start welding the rusty bits😅

Looking at fitting one of these to my 4x4... helpful video, thankd👍 Ps, sounds like you have a slight Portsmouth accent???
small is good, but bad for long range. I have Maglite LED 2D, 3D and 4D. Exzellent...
Dommage pas démontable facilement
I must admire how well preserved you have your jimmy. I bought mine in march 2023 and it has been through the ringer and it has held up very nice. Is my daily driver and I love it. If you accessorize the interior it becomes even better.
Thanks for the video, I am impressed with the capability for what it is, the traction control seems to be pretty effective, such a pity it doesn't just have a low crawl gear like a VW syncro
I like maglite LED a lot.
Awesome!
