Echo SRM-210 Rebuild and Assembly
A follow up video to my previous one of breaking down the Echo SRM-210 weedeater/trimmer and cleaning it. In this video I reassemble the trimmer. I also perform some routine maintenance on it as I rebuild the Echo SRM-210 weed trimmer.
I did not show the process of rebuilding the Zama kb-75 carburetor. I will include that in another video. I used the Echo Red Armor lubricant on the gear box and cable inside the shaft. I purchased both the lubricant and Echo Grease Gun from www.propartsdirect.net/

Echo SRM-210 Weed Trimmer / Restoration / Breakdown and Cleaning
zhlédnutí 21KPřed 3 lety
I purchased a used Echo SRM-210 Weed Trimmer off my local classified ads. The previous owner had no recollection if the trimmer worked. I decided to do a complete rebuild and restoration of the weedeater. In this video I broke down the trimmer to the engine. I cleaned every part of the Echo SRM-210 and even rebuilt the original Zama carburetor with OEM kit. The kit included gaskets and diaphrag...

A video of unboxing the Petratools HD4000 backpack sprayer. This sprayer is battery operated. Rechargeable battery. It has a 4 gallon capacity. You can use it to spray fertilizers on your lawn, garden and flower beds. You can also use it for insecticides. Save your arm strength for something else besides pumping your sprayer. From a durable translucent tank, to its tough high-pressure hose, the...

theres 13 minutes of my life ill never get back
Cherrybomb unit there its apparently very slightly used and well maintained. Looks like its been sitting and probably has a clogged up carburetor due to ethanol exposure like all of em. Very inexpensive fix even with the head replacement. Good luck!
THIS is how it is done. Great video brother.
Well, my son and I have registered an LLC for a Lawn Care Company, we are planning to run in our neighborhood. My boy turns 16 next spring, he has a job now but we thought it would be fun to own and run our own business. We just bought 5 echo whips, 1 echo edger, and a Toro whip for a grand total of $60. Two of them run pretty well, you can imagine. LOL. I'll probably watch this video and plenty of others multiple times this winter.... I'm hoping the rebuild of the 6th one will go easier than the rebuild of my first. :). I love you tube, thanks for creating this content. Without it; these sorts of projects would be next to impossible for people like me with little to no experience.
That’s great to hear! I hope it helps!
hi; great job on rebuilding SRM210 question if you had to put a speed feed on that same weedeater how would you go about it. what would you take off then what would you end up using with the speed feed also did you happen to see the serial number and model number thank you
Did you find or deal with a lot of carbon build up on the inside of the muffler? What did you use to clean that out -- I see you avoided getting anything on the inside of the muffler. Mine happens to have a lot of both carbon build up and fuel/oil mix, so I am not sure I can soak it and if I do, in what?
Yeah, I avoided soaking or getting anything on the inside. I just sprayed some of that purple Super Clean degreaser on the outside. Let it soak for a bit, and then used a fine metal scrub pad and brush to clean off the build up.
Wow... This might be over my "paygrade", but I'm trying to clean/rebuild one that my father left me (bought in 2008, I think). LOTS of leaking fuel/oil all over -- so the plan is to replace the carburetor (RB-K75), spark plug, filters, fuel lines and thoroughly clean everything. I expect when I take the fan case off (and I have to -- it's gross under and around the flywheel), I assume I'll need to regap the coil with an ignition air gap gauge? What's the gap, please? Do I need to buy an Echo Ignition Air Gap Gauge P/N 91004 (#.014=.35mm)? Hope you see this! Thanks.
Hello! I actually used a generic coil air gap tool. I set it to 0.010”
The dramatic music was on point lol, I couldn't stop watching it.
Very helpful 😊
No after shots? No part number on a new bump head?
I have another video on my page of the reassembly.
Is that an air jet you keep pulling over your shoulder? So I would need a compressor to do the job?
It is a compressor. I only used it to quickly dry off the parts. You do not need it. You can simply let them air dry or wipe dry.
excellent vid, you really did a good job on that trimmer!
I have two srm 210’s a 225 and a 2620 and tbh I still use my 210s while my 225 and 2620 sit in the basement brand new lol with echo you never need a backup because they don’t break and if they do the first thing that goes after 25 years is the piston ring being worn down which is happening to one of my 210s so I’m excited to finally be able to tear down into and put this new ring I had stored for it in the basement for years
Thanks for the video, but with respect, taking it apart is easy. Putting it all back together is the tough part and where I need help.
I completely agree! Everything is easier to take apart. Haha! But I did another video after of reassembling it. Hope you found it!
Wished you would have slowed down taking the wheel/head off.
Really enjoyed this video I also have an echo srm210 and I love it but it was pre-owned so its partially worn out and I never got around to rebuilding the engine but it still works fine
Be ok without the music... couldn't get past the first 3 min of the video..
Really?! I find the music soothing and relaxing. Hopefully you learned something within the first 3 minutes. 🤙🏻
The Legendary Echo SRM-210 Is one of the Greatest Trimmers Ever Made because they are extremely reliable If you take care of them, I have one and it has lasted 17 Years and it starts first pull and runs like new, sadly today I fear the worst is yet to come because it was a little bit easier to pull today and I fear it’s time might be alone it and it might have low compression and might be ready to go to trimmer heaven soon Edit: I’m actually really sad because my family took such good care of it and maintained it well
That's a cap this thing refuses to start.
@@nathanaguiar7264 you didnt take care of it
Pretty sure you can still get parts for the SRM-210. It wouldn't be that hard to repair it & it would be a fun and rewarding project but when you factor in time spent repairing it and cost of parts it's likely more cost effective to chuck it and buy a new one.
I was really looking forward to seeing it being put back together and seeing the end result. My mind was spinning knowing if/when i do this to a SRM210 I just bought, that once I get half way broken down I’ll forget how to get it back together…
Thanks for checking it out. Watch my next video on the channel for how I put it back together.
Ok
violin going is so annoying
I know, right?!
Great video my friend , hope you learn spanish to make it on spanish . Just kidding
Best Trimmer Ever, those machines never fail, never broke down either, It was stored with gas for 8 years non ethanol and it still ran and it’s been with us for more than 13 years and it still runs perfect no problem great trimmef
Wow i have an old grey echo srm230 ive had for over 20 years and ive been offered $200 for it why are people offering top dollar for these old Trimmers and i also have a srm210 thats also over 20 years old ive been offered $125 they both still run great and they have been used commercially all this time you can't kill them as long as you use Echo oil
I think it’s because it’s grey lol when echo went back to orange I just missed the grey model and finally found one left in stock so I snagged it. I really liked the grey color better tbh
Oldie but goodie, I still have a Grey srm260t that really just needs a carb. Nice job brother #LETSGETIT
Lol I see you started to tighten the head on clockwise 😁, you got it though nice job brother. Counter clockwise to tighten so it won't spin off. #LETSGETIT
Haha! Yeah, it kept getting me every time. It goes against everything I’ve known. Appreciate it! 👊🏻
Great video! I am also restoring a echo 210 for the 1st time. However I'm at a stopping point because one of the hex screw on the housing assembly is stripped. I even used an extractor, unfortunately is didn't work because the area is to norrw. Any suggestions on how to get that one out? I seen you had a dewalt hex key set...the hex screws are so rusted and old on my echo srm 210.
Honestly, I was soaking a lot of the screws and bolts with WD40 before taking them off. There were some I would let sit for even a day or two, depending on how stubborn they were. Try something like that to help loosen up that rust.
The srm210 was a great trimmer but i feel the srm225 is a little more powerful.
Thanks for watching Victor! I agree the 225 is more powerful.
Way better than an AR-15 teardown; Almost....Thank You!
Haha! Thanks Rolly. I’m sure the AR-15 is much more enjoyable. But there’s just something about getting a piece of equipment running again!
Great video, Brian! Love watching videos like this! You did an amazing job. Looking forward to more videos.
Thanks Cody!
About time to be using that thing!
Great little project, and nice first video!
Glad you liked it
Great project, very detailed work. I wish I had more time to do this kind of stuff - it's super satisfying.
Thank you sir! I found several engine "restoration" videos here on CZcams and got hooked. They were very satisfying to watch. I appreciate you taking some time to watch this video and comment.
Bro.. the lighting is awesome. What are you using?
Lol I actually have a "ring light" that my wife got me for Christmas. I also upgraded the one light bulb in my garage to one of those multi-directional LED bulbs. Thanks!
@@Lawntism I have a couple of the multidirectional ones also.. love them. Nice video Brian!
Looks like, in addition to small engine repair, you also know lighting and editing. Good on you man! :)
Thank you! It's all new and a learning process for me. But it has been extremely fun and rewarding. I appreciate you noticing!
Looks brand new again!!! Great rebuild!
Thanks Vince!
These videos are timeless. They become go to’s for folks needing to do the same. 👍
Thank you for watching! I know I enjoy watching other people take things apart and then reassemble. I'm planning to do more of "how-to" videos on the other trimmers I have.
First!!! Great music and edit.
Thanks! Finding music is actually one of the harder parts of editing. I'm trying to get a grasp on this whole video story telling thing. Need to become more organized in my filming.
@@Lawntism the organized filming is the hardest part for me. Great job though!
Great video man!
Thank you! I really appreciate that. Thanks for watching and supporting my channel. 🤙🏻
Great video! Watching things get restored is so great and you did a great job.
Is first Striperman a thing :)
You can certainly make it a thing! 😎
@@Lawntism Haha. Looking forward to the completion. Great job on the breakdown and cleaning video.
Is second a thing?
Second is a thing, unless you're competing, then it isn't! Lol 🤙🏻
@@Lawntism haha you're either first or last.
First!
Vince holding that title strong! Thanks for always supporting me! 🤙🏻
Nice piece of gear there. Thought I was subbed to ya already but wasn't. Just hit ya up with one more. Keep up the good work! 👊
Thank you for the support! I guess I wasn't subbed to you either. But that's been fixed! 🤙🏻
@@Lawntism Thanks brother!
Looks good. Looking forward to it.
Oh yeah! Looking forward to it!👍
These Petra sprayers are legit! Good video review and unboxing 👊
Thank you! I appreciate you supporting me in this venture. I hope to use the sprayer more when the snow melts. 👍🏻
@@Lawntism yeah I just used mine to wash my car lol I couldn’t wait!
Looks like a great sprayer! Nice video, Brian!
Thank you very much for watching and subscribing! 🤙🏻
Great unboxing my man. Sprayer looks good. Want to see how it sprays. Let’s see what Petra is all about.
It does seem like a decent sprayer. Sadly I have to wait for all this snow to melt now to use it. Thanks for the support! 🤙🏻
Great video! Great little tutorial. Makes me want to do the same thing.
You can do it!
Good video.... keep the content coming!!!
Thanks buddy! I appreciate the support and encouragement! 🤙🏻
