I push ups and abs!! I can’t and most certainly did not hike 20 miles! You go!
Glass bottle Coke taste better!
Horsies and puppies what a great way to start the day! Pushups after 9 miles, not too bad but after 20+ mile days? I'll pass. 🤣
Another fit for the big screen. Thankyou 😊
Your filming has improved 💯 since the AT. I hope and pray that there’s no fires on trail
Congrats on finishing the Sierras. Enjoy your zero.
Well, end of the *High Sierra*... the Sierra Nevada continues past South Lake Tahoe also. For the PCT it's at mile 1331.3, Highway 36 at Chester. More mountains, more snow.... Then you enter the Cascades.
As a dedicated armchair commentator, I represent those accusations! 😊
That sunrise was both glorious, and gorgeous! Great that there's no mosquitoes . 🌅
Nice cabin!
There must be a lot of rock covered poop up there. Where do you dig a cat hole in the high rocky areas with no soil ?
Happy July 1st Canada Day! 🇨🇦 Keep pressing north. You can do it!
LOL You are NOT done with the Sierras. Not even close. You will be done with the Sierras when you get to Belden mile 1288.7.
You forgot to say "actually"😉
Yep, the mountain range does go that far north, but I think when PCT hikers talk about the sierra, they are talking about the sierra section (between the desert section and the norcal section).
@@memathews Haha, actually, hypothetically, theoretically, or any other way. It always amazes me to watch CZcamsrs celebrating the end of the Sierras at Kennedy Meadows North. It reminds me of one CZcamsr I watched last year. She was worried about the snow pack. So she wanted to skip to Truckee to be far enough North of the Sierras so she wouldn't have to worry about it. I had to tell her that Truckee is not North of the Sierras and if she tried to get back on the trail there she was going to be in deep snow. She thought Truckee would be way far North Sierras and the snow.
@@csteutterman Yes, they should be celebrating getting through the Southern Sierras, and planning for the Northern Sierras. But most seem to think that Kennedy Meadows North is the end, which it is not.
Awesome!
Fellow armchair commenter, please be advised I do not think it is ever safe to comment on the way ANYONE is holding an ax. It may be different where y’all was raised but in WV the reply could be a multitude of things… just sayin
Yes, that big lake is Owens Lake. It's fed by the Owens River, and the valley is Owens Valley between the Sierra and the Inyos and the Whites on the far side of the valley. The Owens Valley is the deepest valley in North America. Used to have family there. Spent a lot of my childhood in that valley and along the Eastern Escarpment of the Sierra. That view of the Owens Valley is one of the best views on the PCT.
The voice of the armchair commenter was hilarious 😂😂
Nice cabin to share. Lap of luxury right there!
No fricking skeeters up there.
The sunrise first shot was awesome. Thanks.
LETS GO!
Trail magic, equals a good day!
Oh you took me waaay back, turn,,turn, turn….the byrds!
Do you think where you grew up plays a role in your connection to the trail? I know you and Hollywood are from the Midwest/East Coast. As someone who was born and raised in the PNW I have a deep emotional connection to the wilderness and the trails here. Like, I’m rooted physically and spiritually to the land of the west coast. I don’t know, just a thought about why y’all might be having less of an emotional experience on the PCT.
That is a possibility.
Complain away about them mosquitoes my friend……..every single one of us would do the same for sure! You’re doing it despite this challenge…..just one of a thousand you have/will face on the trail. You got this! Don’t let those little buggers get you down!
LETS GO!
Freeze dried broccoli chunks, sounds like a bowel movement, LETS GO!
LETS GO!
Congrats on 1000!
Congratulations on 1000 miles! Hike on☮️
Congratulations on 1000 miles!
Congratulations on reaching 1000 miles. 👍
Congrats on a 1000 miles for you two . So nice to see you at the end of the day without the bug net. Sending beer and bug juice funds tomorrow. Your monthly allowance.
Thank you!
Hi guys congratulations on 1000 miles. My go to for the mosquitoes is TEE TREE OIL you have to put it on straight or mix with water and spray on. I have used it in your situation it’s has a aroma but the bugs mosquitoes don’t like it I have sat outside in heavy mosquitoes and not gotten one bite you have to put it on everywhere it works for me at home I just started using VANILLA MIXED WITH RUBBING ALCOHOL in a spray bottle on my bedding and around my bed room it works great sleep with or without a sheet no bites. I found this on CZcams. I hope you able to find something that works for you.
Therma Cell
I watched this on the big screen. Amazing journey that you've take so far. 😂
Thanks for watching!
Congratulations on 1000 miles! I wonder if the PCT has been your first long hike if you’d feel differently about reaching that significant mile marker. 🤔 Thanks for taking us along!
Brother, I know you’re a veteran hiker, but being an old dude I don’t even get out of bed to PeeUc KNIGHT’S. I just get me a flexible, Nalgene bottle and P and that not to be rude or anything but you skip them skeeters the cold and stumbling around in the dark just a suggestion, my friend Da Breeze You’re in your tent most of the time anyway just don’t mix it up for lemonade 😂
I feel your pain. When we went to Crater Lake NP, the mosquitoes were as big as cars and everywhere. It definitely took a lot of the fun out of seeing a gorgeous lake, to be so miserable with them. Hope you have less skeeters in N. CA.
Cedar essential oil, rosemary oil and lavender oil either one of those , get you a small spray bottle in town and put half water and several drops of the oil it has toxins to repel ticks mosquitoes, etc , also hope Hollywood gets better he needs to use his hiking sticks to help with weight bearing
👋🏻 DJ! WTG on 1000
😉
Congratulations on the 1000 miles . I’m sure the enormity of it will hit you later. Good luck to see DJ as I’m following him too.😊
Wow. Glad the day turned around. Looked bleak for a minute.
We just got done camping and we are watching your video. We are also covered in mosquito bites. We can commiserate. 😮😢 I hope things go better now.
What is your recipe for beans & rice?
About half minute rice and half dehydrated refried beans.
Congratulations on 1,000 🥳 Sorry y’all have to deal with the Mosquitoes nasty little things! And thank you for the Live Chat last night 😊 You guys are amazing!
You’re quoting from Ecclesiastes. Good job! You’ve been reading scripture!
Coincidence.
Congratulations on 1000 miles! Quite the achievement! I know the permit checks and bear cans are a pain, but trust me. They make a BIG difference! Yosemite is a VERY popular park in the most populated state in the country (there's around 40 million of us). So the wilderness can get very crowded and damaged without pacing all of us. And yes, there are still plenty of people who try to duck the permit system, so that means there's a need for more backcountry rangers. Bear cans have also made a big difference in bears becoming habituated to human food which means less problem bears. Problem bears almost always have to be put down 😞. So I know the cans are a pain, but they really do make a difference. So thank you for using them and keeping our bears wild.
1K!!! Another Washington good note: Huckleberries ripen mid August.
