I'm with you on the workouts. The pushups kind of make sense, arms don't get s big workout during a thru-hike, but abs get worked out every step you're wearing a pack. That's a competitive group even if they liked the puppies and ponys!
When I went to Alaska and camped, I had to spray the outside of my clothes with 40% Deep Woods OFF to keep the mosquitos away. I sprayed it on my hands and wiped on my exposed shin. Those mosquitos would bang their head on the car glass or tent until I open a window or tent and let them out. [ mosquitos are the Alaska state bird]
I know it's still early, but wanted to know your plan for the Northern Terminus. I live 2 hours from Manning Park and would be willing to come get you and Hollywood, and 2 others. I would drive you into Vancouver if you like. I would need a few days notice, but am more that happy to do this for you guys/gals, no charge at all.

I push ups and abs!! I can’t and most certainly did not hike 20 miles! You go!
