My son and I were living vicariously through you and hiking dancer. Not sure where you are now bc of the CZcams delay, but we just got to Quincy today after starting Monday. Safe hiking and see ya out here at some point!
Fireball is your mischievous sprite 🧚♂️. And your Peter Pan off on once-in-a-lifetime adventure. And VVR pirates have captured with their cunning and robbing you blind . The scenery is awesome . Be careful and safe!😅
Chap, I'm sorry to tell you that your so-called "Connected Footsteps" illusion is only a Pipe Dream. You should have taken the boat! Now THAT's an adventure worth having. I hope you're lucky, because I know another thru-hiker in 2022 who dreamed the same connected-footstep dream, and all it took was one wildfire in Oregon to dash her dream to bits. Just the same, "Hike Your Own Hike" is the real key to happiness, so you do you, but don't let it rob you of other experiences. BTW: I definitely love Fireball and her spunky spirit, so I hope she changes her mind and rejoins your tramily. Carry on, and I love your videos!
You're the 1st hiker I've seen mention the price of the Ferry or the price of food at VVR. Wow! Nothing like taking a platinum hike without the plantinum! AT seems cheap in comparison.
Hiker Math: You spent $100, but you saved $40 by hiking, so you saved almost half of what you spent (don't check the math, haha)! Yeah, sometimes a wrong turn earns you an adventure and sometimes it's just a slog, either way you guys have got this handled.
Don't you just love it when a plan....falls apart. It's not the destination, it's how you get there.....damn, wrong way. Yoose guys have been a lot of fun to watch. Crackerjack.
Given a mulligan, I have no doubt you'd take the ferry next time, especially after the hike back to the PCT. For context on costs, VVR is deep in the High Sierra, and the barely maintained, sometimes single-lane road to get there takes 3+ hours from any wholesale supplier.
The takeaway I have gotten from watching you thus far on this trail is that there is so much price gouging going on I think it’s horrible! People are charging way too much because they know they basically have got you. Not a fan. Glad you got some pizza anyway.
Hi there, perhaps a naiive question, to avoid perpetually wet feet would it be better to swap your hiking boots for the Tevas, then switch back after the crossing? This is not a gotcha question, I truly don't know. I assume it's just a pain to keep switching back and forth. The flip side is ur specialty insoles are getting wasted! Let us know so that we can all learn! Thanks for your videos! Paul
When i thru hiked in 2020 vvr was vrazy expensive and there math did not add up was told u only pay one way for boat ride but nope both ways all resupply was out of date. If i hike again would skip
very nice
Awwwwww the three of you are meant to be ( you, Hollywood & Fireball) ….😊
We loved our time at VVR. But yea, so expensive!

VVR is notorious for overcharging on services and goods. Back in the day they would resale items left in the hiker box as well.
New subscriber here : the way you take videos of the trail is amazing. I know it’s more majestic in real life. Thank you for sharing.

Connected footsteps or death!
Hahahahah
LMAO, At this point one of you just needs to adopt Fireball.🤣🤣🤣
Yeah, we would also donate for it 😁
Saving money by not taking the boat ride, means more money for pizza and beer. 🍺🍕🍺🍕🍺
Truth cannot be discussed
As I was working in my hay field today, I surmised the definition of a thru hiker. You guys are athletics.
VVR is expensive, but also great stop. Keep up the great videos and hike, Money Bags
LETS GO!
Great scenery! Thanks for the video!
Keep on north!
Looking good!

Holy crab, these prices are higher than in Switzerland...
Yeah for the Fireball update!! Glad to see her doing great. 😊 Thanks for sharing.

You are going to need to practice that Ric Flair “woo” 😂😂. Do the socks on top of your pack smell sweaty?

You won't get rid of Miss Crabs aka Identity Crisis until Canada ❤😅
Smelling like McDonald’s. 😂 that should be the name of your PCT full-length documentary.

Some of the crossings are too swift for Tevas. Ned the full foot protection.

Dumb question…what is a pass? What makes a pass a pass?
It some part of the trail that needs to be passed ;-)
Low spot on a ridge where the tail passes over..
