I am STRUGGLING to find the 6 stage version with one more item on top and can't find a clear way to see what tubes connect to what items! When I ordered new parts the Fed Ex label was created almost one week before it was finally shipped and I'm SO frustrated by the filter I had loved for 7 year.

So before starting replace, the tank is full of water and when replacing state 4 filter, after replacing the filter I have to drain the tank, fill it again drain it again before filling again to use???? That like a 5 hour procedure. Does thar sound right?

Lol you are saying to screw/unscrew the filters the wrong way because you’re looking down at the threads, not up at them. You should always be looking from behind whatever you are screwing, for reference

Avoid touching the membrane, touch it with your dirty pliers instead.

Elderly lady here. Stage 4 filter was a pain! I had done it before, so wasn't expecting it to be a problem. Back in the day, APEC had awesome customer service. The tech would stay on the phone with me until I resolved whatever issue I was having. Those days are gone. Today they emailed me a photo of how to remove the cap with a plastic wrench which was smaller than the one you use for Stages 1, 2 & 3 and did not come with my unit. The rep opened a ticket for me, said someone would call me back, but nope -- nothing yet. I eventually took the housing to a neighbor, who easily removed the end cap. After that, I had to deal with several leaks and lots of water everywhere. And again, leaks were not an issue last time, so I feel like the connections are wearing out or something. Phooey.

I can’t unscrew the cap of stage 4 filler. It’s a pain 🤮

I replaced the first three filters and now the flow rate of the RO system is down to a trickle and water is constantly draining from the unit via a separate tube. Any ideas? Should have been an easy 5 min swap of filters and now I’m thinking I’m going to have spend $$$ to pay someone to come look at it….

Purchased apec aotl tankless system and am surprised to jow loud it is when water is turned on! Have an email and call into apec with no reply after 2 days! Also plug does not work with my outlet but figure this is on my end

Agh, I remembered why I hate changing these filters today! Tips for future self: - Need to not just turn pin valve but bigger water valve under sink as well - 1st membrane is hardest to get off. Put on side, use grippy shelf liner on wrench for better leverage - Use large roasting pan when unscrewing to catch water that will spill out - canisters will need to be cleaned out - ***Important** Make sure filters are well screwed on (yes, this is why they are so tough to get off!) otherwise water will come squirting out the top edge!

Any guides for Bennet Read? We can’t seem to change the UF filter, the object seems to be jammed halfway into it and it’s impossible to get out…

I truned the water line off, and the tank. As soon as I started unscrewing the first stage, water started squirting out of the threads!!!! Its under pressure and plenty of water inside still!

Can I use my hands with latex gloves to install the new membrane instead of using my dirty plier?

My 3-stage RO filter unit is positioned within the laundry water tub. This is useful just in case the filtered water dispenser container accidentally overflows. No damage will result because any filtered water overflow goes down the laundry tub drain.

Long nose needle pliers will not remove the RO membrane from the plastic housing on my 3-stage filter unit. It takes a brute force manual pull method of steel wire attached to the membrane handle, and the other end to an outdoor pipe. It just happens that the membrane on my filter unit is too strongly stuck in place for simply using pliers.

So I replaced all 5 filters. When I was done, I turned on the ball valve on the tank. The faucet was still on and a bunch of black stuff came out....is that normal?

How in the world do I prevent water from gushing everywhere? Anything I try to take apart makes an absolute mess...I feel like it shouldn't be this hard.
