Hi, when you open the battery compartment of the Ultra L , do you find some water inside? Because I alwaws find some in mine and I suspect that it come in throught the front hinges.
Just a little , no real issue
Awesome tight turns. Great video. I've subscribed. What is Dale's body weight?

Nice! When prop touches water when you surfing , how bad it is ?
You really don’t feel it
Well done fellas ! What was Dale riding ? Love your stuff !

Brilliant footage and riding. How are you capturing that angle? Do you have a stick and 360 degree camera attached to the front? If so, please tell me how long the pole is and which camera you use. Thanks.
Thanks James and yes it’s the Insta X4 on a 600mm pole set at 45 degrees . I have foot strap mounts in the nose of my board and it bolts on .
@@Piros181 great. Thanks for the details. I’ll need to give that a try.
@@Piros181ok but how do you fix the pole on the foot straps screws ?? Thanks
@@fneyes yes
Awesome
My bike is but stuck on the p8 with a 0000 on the bottom everytime i turn it on off take out the battery i dont know what to do can you help me thank you
How much do you weight?
88 kg
Can always compensate weight by taking a smaller lighter board. Nice product! 👌🏼
Thanks Rob, I have played around with the mast position using the FD Gen2 on my Naish DW board. It feels more balanced foiling, however, there remains a slight bit of back foot pressure. I would move it more forward, except when I come off foil, the nose pearls. Alan Cadiz suggests (not using FD) to adjust mast placement such that foot placement does not need to change from taxiing to foiling. With the mast placed forward as you suggest, and it feels better to me, I need to adjust my feet back when on taxi. Curious to hear your thoughts. Thanks again!
Hey Red you can only go so far forward and if the board is still dropping down have a look at increasing your rear wing size . This will help greatly in balancing it up . Re the trying without a FD fitted will help a little but ultimately you need it fitted as the max battery sits partially in front of the mast changing the balance point . Try a bigger rear wing first if you don’t have one just put in a positive shim . See how that goes .
Awesome tip, thanks so much. I tried today with a slightly bigger tail, definitely more glidey and trimmed better on the taxiing. I went from from 362x50 to 350 x 63) and it made a big difference, I was able to pearl it a couple times on hot landings, but mostly it felt softer. Really appreciate the videos and feedback. I am wondering if I should try to move it more forward again as I am still experiencing back foot pressure. Thanks again!
Yes 100% keep nudging it forward as far as you can . Only thing stopping you is box length but if you go too far it makes the nose sink on the start . If that starts to happen come back an inch . Take a tool with you in the water so you can do it on the beach or shallow water .
🔥🙌 Hey Rob, Do you ever record your speed? Some of those high line runs look next level speed-wise.
Yes all the time generally around 32-35 Kph but get to high 30’s a lot and occasionally low 40’s
Piros Froth Grade! Love it ! 😂 🙌
My apologies….just read the descriptive
What are your board and foil dims here Rob….? Thank you for replying if able.
Thanks Rob for the video. What are the disadvantages of going with the non-integrated No-Limitz V2 versus the integrated besides taping and a small loss of power? Are the weights comparable?
You get cleaner water to the prop on the start as you have not wrecked the foil profile on the mast. So it accelerates much faster with more power. If you run bigger foils not such a big deal but for smaller foils it helps tremendously on the start & also extends battery time .The NL V2 with the motor is apx 800 grams lighter than the Axis Ultra without a motor , significant weight saving . Weight wise NLV2 intergraded or not apx the same weight as the wire is inside the mast . The mast itself is super light and would to be one of the lightest high modulus out there .
Hi Rob, does the mast base have the holes to screw the mast to the foil drive box, like the axis have it, for the aluminum mast. So we can have box and mast one piece?
Yes it does which is so handy swapping boards or breaking your kit down in the car
I got stiff just looking at that mast 😂
😂😂😂
Rob, I’ve been riding foildrive on the Axis 82cm aluminium 20cm motor. I’m exclusively using it to ride in surf northern rivers. I’m think I’ll drop to 15cm I Wonder if 78cm or 85cm is the way to go? Hmmm I don’t hit the bottom too much (sometimes in Ballina river at low tide) but not an issue really? I’m 95kgs - longer could be an issue there?
Hey Matt the NL mast generally are an inch longer compared to other mast . So the 78cm NL is the same as a Axis 80cm and 80cm is my magic number with a 15cm motor all day.
Great vibes;-)
Hey Rob coming up your way end of May would like to try or buy the 5:5 , do you know if any avaiable at DC or 2nd hand?
Yes I’ll set up a demo with Dale no 2nd hand sorry

Cool video. What's the setup?
Mines the 5-0 with Code 980s on Axis Utra mast . Mark the 5-5 & Lift 150 HA
I do miss those long soft point breaks since I moved south. I guess there is always the holidays :)
How do you find the 5’5” compared to the 5’ I have a 5’5” x 19.5 x 50l I bought of Mick thinking of ordering a 5’ 45l
Yeah 5-0 x 18-1/4 x 47 litre is perfect for me but honestly there is very little penalty for going a touch longer . I won’t go below 5-0 . I’m 88 kg . The only time you’ll notice longer is when you do tight turns in the pocket you can pick up the nose , other than that no drawback also for DW 5-5 would be better on cross swell days , just easier to ride .
Sick 🤙
gayyyyy
Just the way you like it.
@@davewestfoils hahahaha
Yeah awesome, how clear is that water.
I'd love to know what the layup is in that wing. I think some manufacturers are accidentally hacking hydrofoil design by pairing certain plan shapes with a lack of double bias fabrics. I'd experiment on that myself, but the results are rider weight dependent and I have another couple theories on it anyway.
Great video! You really did justice to the Operator. This foil stands out in the current landscape🤙
which spot is this? burleigh?
North Kirra
Looks good in action!. The plan form looks a lot like my latest wing model which is about an hour from 3D print completion. Definitely some differences in the front view and likely in the foil section but both thin, designed to shred. Mine should have a good low end though, It's 1230 sqcm area and I don't think it will go that fast without a wind wing.
How do you 3d print a wing. Laminate it afterwards?
@@powis-tv8ln I 3D print the model in pieces with dowel holes for joining designed in. I tidy it up and make a mould from it. I just assembled mine, 30mm skewar pieces for the dowels on this one.
As a fellow Omen Operator advocate you did a fantastic job capturing Lance shredding the 850. Love the idea of using the foil drive to do follow cam.
Yeah young nephew Lance does shred with less than 12 months of foiling under his belt and yeah the Foil drive follow cam is a great new angle...
All foil videos should be only done by drones- Nice job Omen & Rob
No drone footage I'm on a Foildrive but thanks for the props and Im just a punter posting for Omen
Haha. Classic
Hows the pump conpared to the code
I was going to send you this privately Chris . I think it would be super good for you with what you ride. The Omen 850 rides like a smaller foil but very good pump. It'll knock out the AFS and maybe the Code but all 3 have different values. If it was me it's a " Add to Cart " for sure..
Thanks for showing the Take Off's as well as a Foiler who doesn't have a Surf background I find it the most challenging part. That Foil looks like a Winner
Yeah the chip in is often the hardest part , Thanks for the props.
good to know, thanks

Chris was kind enough to take me out 3 times , he almost foils every day . He is living the dream .
Hi Rob, duo you have an idea of the top speed of the 980 S? You were using which stab? Thanks
Just back from Fiji constantly get high 30’s Kph I use the 158 with a negative shim , that’s my favourite combo
