Apes Like Us is the awareness and education outreach of nonprofit GLOBIO. Apes Like Us explores the places and issues we share with all great apes - gorillas, chimpanzees, orangutans and bonobos - and the people and organizations trying to save apes, and what makes us all more alike than different. GLOBIO's Apes Like Us channel is created to share factual and accurate information about what is happening with, to and for apes, primates and their habitats, in our targeted Focal Regions where we work and around the world. "You Are Safe Now" — Ape Action Africa: 30 Years of Saving Great Apes
Ape Action is home to the largest semi-wild population of rescued Endangered Western lowland gorillas in the world. For over 30 years they have been securing a future for over 300 rescued primates at Mefou Primate Sanctuary. From the dedicated staff to the incredible wild-like forest enclosures, Mefou Primate Sanctuary is a gift to be shared with the world, despite the dark predicaments for why it's so desperately needed. Please help us spread the word about their work with great apes, and the challenges they face: deforestation, poaching, illegal wildlife trafficking, palm oil, disease, and more - in hopes that someday their helping hands won't be needed.
Ape Action Africa is a project partner with GLOBIO, expanding awareness and understanding of the plight of Cameroon's great apes and primates in the local schools and villages, and to the global community. Learn more about how we work together: www.globio.org/globio-news/

The best part of human evolution..binding with the wild life! Both developing trust in each other.
In DRC they eat these young guys they call it bushmeat bbq 🍖. Apparently the younger ones have tender meat than the elderly

Looks Like This Baby Orangutan Is Really Enjoying That Mango!🦧🥭🌿
Absolutely <3
Very touching
I'm so glad to see a little of these "baby"apes, playing & looking so veryhappy& "normal". In the begining of this video there's a small baby chimp, that looks so very SAD. He(or she) looked as though tears would follow, in a second or two.😢😮😢
Yes - even though some of these poor babies have a horrible start, Ape Action Africa give them an amazing life :)
Thank you for these videos. I love the content but more so, I love the prompts for further research if the viewer is so inclined. Apes have always fascinated me and I've spent many an hour poring over raw footage of them that I've found. Thank you for creating content that the Cutesy crowd can enjoy but not forgetting about the scientifically minded folks as well. Cheers!
Thank you so much for this kind and encouraging comment. You may also enjoy our podcast Talking Apes (talkingapes.org) where we discuss the wide world of apes with scientists and conservationists. Cheers for watching!
She did so much and so sad she was murdered
a great loss for the primate conservation world - her legacy lives on always
Sweet baby ya ok they all grow into monsters.
Not monsters! Just wild animals :) Thanks for watching!
Awesome video
Too phuckin cute! 🥹
:D
There aren't three species of Orangutan, only one. Those are sub-species.
Hi there. Yes, these are 3 distinct species. There are further subspecies: Bornean orangutan (Pongo pygmaeus) --Pongo pygmaeus pygmaeus - northwest populations --Pongo pygmaeus morio - east populations --Pongo pygmaeus wurmbii - southwest populations Sumatran orangutan (Pongo abelii - Sumatra northwest of Lake Toba) Tapanuli orangutan (Pongo tapanuliensis - Sumatra south of Lake Toba)
@ApesLikeUs I wouldn't consider those distinct species. I would consider them sub-species. The reason why they're so isolated is because the populations of Orangutans are drastically decreasing. If they weren't dying out, there would be populations of Orangutans between each other, and they would be considered one species like the American Alligator.
Thank you so much for your work ❤
Thank you for watching!
Beautiful country, beautiful people, beautiful animals. I look forward to the moment when western people - like me - realize that this isn't only a local problem and it's not only local people's responsibilty to guard this unique ecosystem. Thank you for the video!
thank you so much for your kind comments
It's only through education that the beautiful young people will fall in love with the primates and other animals of Cameroon, and work to save them. This is wonderful.
Absolutely! Thank you for watching.
Way to go real superheroes 🎉🎉🎉
Totally! Thank you for your kind comments!
🙏🙏
YES! Educating the young people will help save them and the planet!!
Good news!
What a beautiful video. ❤
Le femmine si integreranno facilmente nei grandi gruppi in natura. Per i maschi la vedo dura. una parte verrà uccisa perché non accettata. Females will easily integrate into large groups in the wild. For males I see it hard. one party will be killed because it is not accepted.
"NO MORE CHAINS" BUT BACK IN A CAGE! WHERE'S THE RESCUE?
Hi. This little chimp was given top tier care at the sanctuary. The cage is a temporary measure and part of his rehabilitation process. He would die if released back into the wild on his own. You can read more about chimpanzee rescue and rehabilitation on Tacugama's website. Thanks for watching.
Some basic information on them would have been appreciated.
Thanks for the feedback! We're a tiny team but we're always working on improving our content :)
More information would have been appreciated
I'm 62 and if I could go back in time I'd in some country helping with these babies
Lots of sanctuaries have volunteer programs. Its never too late <3 :) Thanks for watching.
Save or chimpanzee, thank you all for your hard work ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
if this would be my pet, i would name it simply "Schrumpel"
It will now grow up and attack humans, ....real smart move by these stupid rescuers!!!
Stupid saving these awful animals
awful? HA! that’s literally just you
Apes together strong!
Thanks!
Thank you so much Shawna!
I love all these primates. What I hate is people are taking there homes there parents there life's . I'm so glad people take care of them . Why people over stupid money to survive hurts these animals or any . To the ones that hurt these animals. Don't worry God has your number. Ty to the people who take care of these beautiful animals God bless you.
Such beautiful videos! I love and share your videos. Subbed ❤
