We talked with a local nursery as it is rampant in our retaining wall planter. They said just leave it and mow it. So we did - it’s great cover and we don’t have to fight what wants to live there. And yes, nature handles the rest.

Spectricide makes a product sold at Lowes called Weed Stop that kills over 200 types of weeds, including nut sedge, without harming your lawn. I have used it with excellent results, and it will not break the bank - very reasonably priced.

Nutsedge and some viny looking trailing grass like stuff is 100% of my lawn. I don’t know if there’s any actual grass out there.

Wow, it is amazing how much money many people spend on trying to grow grass.

I don’t mind that weed I actually put it in thin areas and it fills my lawn and camouflages well with it lol. Just cut it short and no one will notice it.

I have nutsedge in landscape beds in addition to the grass. Is the empero/sedgehammer safe near trees, shrubs and perennials? I used Image last year and stunted the growth/disfigured several plants.

I bought a cheap Amazon jetter, and cleared a clog and a bunch of funky crap coating the pipes. A few years later we had another blockage I couldn't get. I hired a company to run a camera down, and they told me I had a collapsed pipe and quoted me 20k to tunnel under the house and replace it. It didn't add up, so I rented a camera from Home Depot. I found the blockage, and using my jetter I cleared it and made sure my pipes were spic and span. The clog was in the long bend of the pipe for the upstairs bathrooms. There was a V in the pipes I wouldn't have been able to navigate it without the camera. The camera plus the jetter are a lethal combo for blockages. The new flex shaft augers are camera safe as well, since the outer casing doesn't spin and is another option. I now have a Clog Hog jetter for small pipes, a Ridgid K9-12 (the easiest and lightest for most clogs), my original jetter and an old Ridgid K375 auger. I probably have less than $500 invested in all of it, excluding a good pressure washer, and it's saved me much much more over the years.

I followed your directions and they were so good. Just a couple of differences with my model 2014 Honda Pilot Touring. On the drivers side door panel I have 2 more electric plugs that have to be removed the automatic seat positioning switch and the door mirrors control switch. Besides that it's the same. I think that it is the weed that grows thru asphalt eventually destroying it. For my drive way I simply use roundup or the equivalent and after a couple of applications it finally dies . At least of awhile

I read you can pull them if they are young and small plants. They dont seem to have the tubers when you pull them under 12 inches or so.

Someone please tell me how to kill and stop crabgrass. I tried Scotts pre-emergence during winter and a lawn spray this summer, neither are worked. I only water once in morning, and early evenings when over 95deg.

Sedgehammer damaged my nutgrass (the weed appeared to 'die'), but it came right back next season. I despise this weed. This year I tried Image Nutsedge killer. It also has damaged the nutsedge. Like Sedgehammer, the damage takes a week or more to show. I will have to wait until next year to see if it actually killed it. Image does hurt the fescue. I was told to wait 6 weeks to aerate/seed after using Image.

Everybody needs to spray as many chemicals as you can. Get them in the air, on your food, and in our water supply. They’re completely harmless no matter what the label tells you. All in the name of a sterile lawn

You’re absolutely correct! I’ve enjoyed pulling the nutsedge from the yard. I hate them…so satisfying.

Just make sure that you don't have any dogs or other pets who walk on lawns where you use products like that with ingredients like halosulfuron methyl, since they are cytotoxic, genotoxic and generally carcinogenic to them.
