There is something I like to theorize. At the end of GOW 3. We all know that kratos basically killed himself to give humanity hope in order to survive. But I feel like kratos also gave up the title of God of war. Know for the Greek gods, they are concepts. They only attain the power they have once they have chosen a concept to rule over. And in 2018 GOW. Kratos only says he's a god, but not what he is the god of. So while he is stronger than his younger self, he is also weaker because he no longer rules over a concept, since he killed himself. So I think that in Valhalla, by choosing to be the God of Hope and sitting on his throne. He has finally attained a concept to rule over as a Greek god, and is actually much more powerful, now that he has a concept to represent. He has finally chosen his true concept, rather than being a temporary replacement for Ares

I think a really cool idea for a Atreus spin off game would be, he goes to Valhalla to look for some more answers after a while, and he stumbles upon a destroyed memory of Asgard like what happened to Kratos in the DLC, but it would be a way bigger memory because Atreus was there for longer than Kratos, and he would go to the great lodge, maybe seeing a vision of Odin or Thor, and he would find the realm crack… tear? I don’t know I just think that would be a really cool idea, and there would probably be a lot more to that but yeah that’s the main thing.

I think Athena has her own agenda in all of this. As the other Greek gods were infected by the evils of Pandora's Box, I suspect she was infected by Greed shortly before ascending to that higher plane of existence. When she realized what she found, she thought she could use her power of Hope to take it all for herself. Kratos took that away from her, and she still seems pretty bitter about it.

I may be mistaken but kratos is as powerful as his Shows in how he brutally ripped up the Gods in Greece but was more balanced and equal with the Norse. They just didn’t make him as angry especially after his mental training.

Man when this part started I was really hoping that Carson would've been there to voice Young Kratos again. I was hoping that this was going to be the final boss fight. Fight Young Kratos with him wielding all the Greek weapons. Maybe taunting Old Kratos for now being soft and not remembering his true self. They fight and Old Kratos reminds Young Kratos why they did what they did and the reasons they did it for. Reminding that it was for the sake of his family. That now he's doing what he can for his new family and making the right choices and trying to be better.
