Beautifully done. Would sheet music exist for this lament? Thank you for posting.
Beautifully done.
Любимая мелодия Уолтера Скотта, судя по Редгонтлет. Я перевёл эту лэ на русский, мелодию удалось передать в ИИ, но не очень точно. czcams.com/video/i_YFk2nsICc/video.html
Hauntingly beautiful!❤️❤️🙏
A gorgeous tune and beautifully played!
Well done you! Have long thought many BC numbers would lend themselves to a fiddle part being used instead of a guitar part
I always fancied trying a rotary quern. They found one of the oldest non-Roman ones near here, possibly stolen/copied from Romans at Trimontium about 250AD. Some folk in Uganda are still using saddle querns, and I think the introduction of rotary querns would make their lives easier, just as metal ploughs have. Though I'm not sure if owning high-value items like that would encourage theft/jealousy, or concentrate meal-grinding in the hands of a few and lead to social inequality. They're not nomadic, so they wouldn't be replacing a saddle quern at every camp with a heavy, portable quern. It would replace many hours of medium effort, with a few hours of high effort. I'm not sure how that would affect work patterns? It would maybe replace whole-grain soup with more flour consumption. I'm not sure whether that would lead to a more carbohydrate based diet, more inflammation and diabetes? But it would keep grain processing local, while reducing 'the daily grind'. And they have hard, granite type rock at the North East of their country, so producing them there wouldn't need to increased dependence on imported goods.
Lovely island, Lismore.
Brilliant.
Excellent.
Sheet music?
@surochurro don't think I've ever seen the music; picked it up by ear. The double stopping was more or less improvised.
Thanks for replying. I’ll try and listen and learn!
You geta really good sledge down the brae in the winter…when there is snow ❤
Absolutely beautiful man!
Great tune! And we’ll be visiting Stirling Castle in September-so excited to see the places that inspired wonderful fiddle tunes like this!
Loved it!! Thank you❤ love from South African fans..
very cool can you share some sheet music. Can you do the solo break from the original song
@ronniemooney7921 don't have music I'm afraid, I just picked it up by ear from memory.
❤️❤️⭐️ beautiful!
Music from Folio 4 gift box:)
❤️❤️
This looks like a lot of fun to play. You have a lovely room for the sound of these tunes!
Marvelous! I can imagine the Scottish dancers having a wonderful time with this amazing tune!
Thanks! 🙂🎻✌️😎
One of my favorites on your Land of the Standing Stones album!
Absolutely beautiful song! I want to learn it.
Everything Paul Anderson puts his musical hand to is musical perfection.
Lovedyour piece and the history. Is it possible that Robert Farquharson (saddler) may have occupied one of the cottages in 1851?
It's certainly possible as Farquharson was a common name in the district but I've no idea if Robert Farquharson did.
Beautiful!❤️❤️🙏
Beautiful. Probably my favourite Skinner tune. ❤😅
Hello, sorry its not a Skinner tune. It was written in Ireland by a Scotsman called Hugh McPeak. The melody is based on an old Scottish Song called "The Braes of Balquidder."
Superb! Great respect for you, min!
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
So nice. Thank you, Paul.
Beautifully played!
Sounds lovely Paul!

Thank you so much for your fiddle videos Paul, they are invaluable. I was wondering where I could order a copy of the Miller O'Hirn book? I'm in Canada and can't seem to find this online.
impressive!
Tremendous Paul
Very nice slow air.
beautiful
Both beautiful and lively! Thanks for sharing that!
That's a great tune Paul. Is it printed?
Wrote it yesterday so no, not yet although I've a copy written out.

OK, so I will await your next tunebook?
I absolutely love the tiny little fraction of time the bow leaves the string on 1:20 and 1:30, probably because it's a nice little technique theme that was set up earlier in the piece... it's made the experience watching you play :)
Great Paul, love a good strathspey man.
awesome Paul 🙂
Stunning Paul!
Thanks Verlon.
