Hawaii's Most Haunted - Waha‘ula Heiau
Arriving from the far-off land known to Hawaiians as Kahiki, the high priest, Pā‘ao, brought with him a new religion and had a heiau built on the highest ground available along this part of the Puna coast. Constructed around the 13th century, this heiau changed the way Hawai‘i’s ruling class worshipped. Once this ground was so sacred, so full of mana, that no commoner and no woman, regardless of rank, could approach the heiau. Man became the principal sacrifice while the kahuna and the ali‘i communed with the gods within its walls. On this episode of Hawai‘i’s Most Haunted, we learn about Waha‘ula Heiau on Hawai‘i Island.

When I lived at Nuuanu Pali (old pali road) I would always get sleep Paralysis now that I think of it, never really made the connection. But after planting Ti leaves, the sleep paralysis stopped.
Awesome channel!
It's about time this is talked about!!! Pure EVIL!!!!
My family and I traveled to the big island for my niece's graduation in 2015. We stayed in Kona and drove to Hilo on that road several times but we did not encounter or feel any unexplained events. The latest we drove that road was close to midnight to return to Kona and we never felt spooked:). Now the lava fields...I personally know two people and their friends who got lost on those fields at night (not intentionally) and came out alive by following a light. Explain that! (lol) Shaka!!!
🤩
Are there any haunted areas near Ewa Beach where I live?
Mahalo for your story telling.🤙😎
I live in Hawaii. More specifically the island of Oahu I have been to morgans corner, Manoa falls, and pail lookout I did not see anything supernatural in any of the places, but I am excited to go to Saddle Road as I am going in 2 weeks. Thanks for giving me something to do and another adventure!
travel Saddle plenty mostly early morning return evenings or night , only one time have i seen anything made me look twice , one early evening still a little light just past Mauna Loa access rd returning home to Keaukaha from Waikoloa standing on a large mound was a pure white HUGE Pua'a / Boar was Mauna Kea side just looking up Mauna Loa was Nov of 2022 i no this for sure because Nov 27 the Mauna started erupting ,, still get chicken skin when i think about that event ,, but nothing like da old road that buggah was scary all on its own day or night
They traded Aloha🌺 for Yokai👺 (ONI-licious) too ignorant to understand the witchcraft Japans foundation sits upon. All they saw (blinded by sorcery) was economic gains, sushi, and lifted Toyotas in the end, their inner demons tear them apart far more quickly than any haole or transplant (a lot of incest, poor genetics: look at their body shape) sitting inside dark homes, curtains drawn…wanting others to be afraid like them Majority don’t possess enough spirit to regulate the demons and so they run amuck: keeping them ignorant, emotional, angry and jealous. Like a demon is supposed to do Bless them and you will be blessed, curse them….and you will be cursed
Those fuckah is all reptilians I promise those fuckahs on that island ain’t real brah.
Many thanks for sharing the history. Mahalo. Aloha, Oahu June 23 2024
I work at Chief Sielu's Luau at the Wet n' Wild Park. I do wish he could do more during the Halloween season like telling ghost stories about the islands in his act.
Maybe I’m pilau all the haunted places I feel welcomed and the safest. I’m always drawn to heiaus I can feel them even when they aren’t marked no matter where I am when I get the feeling in my stomach I make hookupu even if it has to be out of ferns.
Lahaina can be rebuilt to how it was before the Americans took over. I pray.
Mahalo from a Hawaiian in Australia.
I must have driven over the kipapa gulch bridge probably over a thousand times. My family lived in what was waipio. Waipio was a Libby and McNeil pineapple plantation camp for the people and their families who worked for Libby. We had to drive through kipapa gulch to go to pearl city, Aiea, Honolulu. I never experienced any unusual experiences driving over the bridge. But when I was still in high school and had to go through kipapa gulch alone late at night my imagination got the best of me at times. Another spooky drive was driving through Schofield barracks over the kolekole pass to drive through the lualualei navy ammunition depot to get to nanakuli and Waianae. There were no lights going through the pass and down the mountain to the base. There were many twists and turns going down the mountain.
With Faoles
I drove saddle road during daylight many times, never encounter anything. Regardless, I would not allow any ghost to prevent the need to build a new road. Ghost will showed up to weak people, if you have strong faith in your religion, no one can penetrate your mental being and create fear.
The old road frm huihui ranch going dwn to the villiage to aneahoomalo was the spookiest alot of things happened on that road n even wen the new hiway was being built frm the airport to kawaihi harbor alot of iwi was found in the lava feilds n artifacts were uncoverd
I have walked a lot of saddle road at night hunting wild pigs i Neva uncountered any haunting situation, I've also hunted wild pigs up the pali n that's wen i heard n felt weird feelings n sounds that wasn't natural, also in the 79's out kaiwi point crossing to honkohau harbor we were fishing late at night on the beach called alulla bay which da haoles now call dogs beach which is disrespectful ,i escorted some Krishna cult group out in front the heeau n was chased by some unknown idk wat up the trail n wen i came back to the beach i was xhased again i ran screaming n my mom came running up the trail n she knew wat it was n she told me hawaiin guardians, this was the early 70's in 2000 unckle pater keka explained to me everything about allula bay n about the heeau that u have to cross in frnt to gat to the small bay, the history thier is so amazeing not much people know about it
Yep, my friend lived in Wahiawa while going to UH Manoa during the 80s, one night while coming home late (about 4:00am), he saw a white shape in the middle of the Kipapa bridge that he said looked like a feminine figure, he drove passed it but was too scared to look directly at it.
I was riding my bike pass this construction site and i heard ah voice said they buried me alive. So i got off my bike just to stand and feel the energy . Then out of no where the construction crew pulled up and i can tell they didn't want me their as if i was going find the body or something...
Any areas thats sacred healing and positive.
AI sucks
Brah , your beard is top notch now.. Thanks for all the great spooky stories..
The lack of education and critical thinking in America is astounding!
The only thing haunting about this road is the headache you get driving it from all those turns.
No more turns really. Its 4 lane hwy sized now
@nomad74777, Damon Rydell, yes, it is common knowledge that the purchase of Ni'ihau cost the Sinclairs $10,000. Negotiations for the island was initiated in September 1863, brokered by the Minister of the Interior, G.H. Robertson while Kamehameha IV was King. The Sinclair family initially offered the Hawaiian government $6,000. Because Kamehameha IV passed away that November, and the deal was completed and the island was sold in January 1894, it was approved by Kamehameha V. The purchase price of $10,000 is common knowledge, but we left that information out because, within the context of this video, it almost sounds as if the amount of money validates the treatment that the native Hawaiians received.
Unco where is the heiau located. I found kaunaoa at two different spots in kalapana. Is that where it is?
Brah I been waiting fo a new video to drop fo ekolu months. Hook me up already . All dis waiting I no can brah 😅
One day I'd like to go on your ghost tour.
In High School we’d sit at the picnic table next to the Cook statue and eat food. When the Robert’s tourist bus showed up, we’d say our food tasted good, just like Capt Cook lol.
Aloha! It reminds me of "The legend of old gregg" from the mighty boosh!
Wanna see my mangina?😂 ya know ya luv meh
I live in Hilo and often work in Waimea/Kona, so I take the road about a once week. I heard the rumors but funny enough it's the real people that scare me. People visit the island, take the 1.5 hour long drive and end up speeding down the mountain on either side, we're talking like 70+ mph.... Sucks because I work in traffic control and I can't stop people when they come barreling out of the fog that's only visible up to 50 feet. The best thing I do is place cones along my signs, place multiple cones on the shoulder/middle lane and line them up a good 200 feet from my job site. Sometimes that aint enough and people have died.
Exactly...numerous bad accidents up there. The drivers are the ones to be scared of
When I was 8 I lived in a house off Aukoi St near Kauai High. There was poltergeist type activity there. Objects moving/flying across the room and knocking sounds. All the bars on my sister’s crib were yanked out. My parents yelled at me like I did it but once they tried to put it back together and saw how difficult it was, they knew I couldn’t have muscled that. They tied ti leaves to it and I was so mad they put my sister back in the crib that night. I once woke up and saw a ghost of man in a military uniform at the foot of my bed. He was sitting (on nothing) almost like posing for a photo. I could make out his features but he was also transparent. There was no bottom of him. I just lifted my knees until I couldn’t see him anymore and eventually fell back asleep. There was a huge hole about the size of car and about 6” deep in the yard next to the house ever since we moved in. One day we were finally able to fill it in and then all paranormal activity stopped. We moved shortly after.
mahalo!

We WHITE MEN know NOTHING!!!! Db
Red yellow green and black also represent the 4 colors of the GOOD RED ROAD, the way of life in the SOUTH WEST INDIAN cultures. COINCIDENCE?, I doubt it is! Db
My brother worked in one of the older buildings in town (can't place name, memory's terrible) and pretty much the whole building knew of a ghost boy who dwelled in the basement. The employees would talk to him to get him to "stop" messing with printers and whatnot. There's even toys left around for him.
Wahiawa is a ghetto
why did i encounter this for, it tried to get hit by my vehicle
Where is that picture from?
I used to smoke joints with my friends there , even during the day with fog hugging the mountains that go straight up , when you are cooling off in the fresh water you can feel the Mana , like a Natural Mystic , at night it crazy dark, and the ghosts threw river rocks at us . around .
My mother Jean Ishikawa was born and raised in Mana. Her father, Kana worked as a foreman there on the plantation - he later moved the family to Oahu. Seventeen years ago, my family and I tried to locate Mana. It is now a military base. We did, however, feel a spiritual presence emanating from the area. It truly is a special place.
Wait wasn’t she handcuffed? How was she able to run on all fours
