On Costa lines, at least the ones doing Med runs over and over such as the Pacifica -- deck chair are "saved" from as early as 6 a.m.....young children (and babies, in diapers) are brought into the "adults only" jacuzzis and pool....pre-teens and teens are jammed into "adults only" jacuzzis and pools having parties, throwing drinks around in the pool/jacuzzi, running and pushing (literally) people out of the way, playing "knock and run" down the halls at 1 and 2 a.m.........they are brought into the "adults only" spa area....hand sanitizing at the buffet? Nope, the kids (under the seeing eyes of parents, friends and management alike) pick up food from the buffet, sniff it and put it back.......a little bit "rude" 😉😂

My 2 pennies... * Carnival is waaay cheaper. However, gotta be careful not to choose the cheapest ones or you'll get that type of crowd. But you can take 2 Carnival cruises for the price of 1 RC cruise * Carnival's has a wider variety of food and much better imo. I've heard a good amount of people claim RC has better food, I have not seen that in my experiences * Poolside food on Carnival is Guys burgers, Shaqs Big Chicken, or pizza. RC is hot dogs and pizza * Dinner and buffet food is also much better on Carnival * Carnival is much more lively. Not just the "party" atmosphere that people mention. But music is constantly being played throughout the ship. The director is much more prevalent on Carnival, you rarely hear from the director on RC cruises * Agree on the private island tho. Celebration Key is not yet open for Carnival, but RC's Coco Key is the best island and beach I've even been to. Not to mention great food on this island (and free)

AVOID the drink packages! Unless you drink like a fish (aka alcoholic). The packages range from $750 - $1000 PER PERSON, and you have to drink 8-10 alcoholic drinks DAILY, EVERYDAY you're on the ship, to get your money's worth. If you travel with a spouse, loved-one, companion, they'll be FORCED to buy the same package as you, even if they don't drink. TOTAL SCAM! AVOID their 'private island' activities if not included. The prices are OUTRAGEOUS! $170 PER PERSON to ride the water slides for a few hours. For a family of 4, you're looking at nearly $700. A ride to the beach with a chair and umbrella, $120 PER PERSON. Bottom line, PRICE GOUGING is rampant on RC! $5 for a can of coke, $7 for a can of beer, $9 for a bottle of beer, $10 for a mixed drink (rum and coke), $15 for a cocktail. It was DISGUSTING to see such highway robbery. It will be a LONG TIME before we go on another RC cruise!

Broke my tooth and permanent dental bridge on Rock Hard bread on Royal Caribbean the first 20 minutes on board, before the ship even departed . Had to exit the vessel and wait out the remainder of that Sunday and the following day Monday ( a holiday) and then was at my dentist chair at 0800 Tuesday for the close to $5K in dental work. $2500 of which was out of pocket. Royale Caribbean wound up doing nothing for me and said well you have the travel insurance. AON was a delay/deflect/deny nightmare that has paid me not one red penny. The $2500 in AON dental coverage is written in such a way that I wonder if AON has ever paid a penny in dental coverage in its history. The expense must have occurred "during your trip" so if a steel ship gurder falls and busts your teeth out and you cant return to the ship to resume pina coladas, your incurred "no COVERED dental damage" because the dental bill must have occurred after exiting the vessell and before returning to the same vessel. If the injury is too severe to return to the vessel its"Not Covered" I will never use Royal Caribbean nor any type of "travel scamsurance " ever again

Generally, you dont need to rig a claw game. An experienced ammusments opperator can set up the game so the skill level matches the prizes. I used to work at one of the largest tourist attractions in the usa. Our company had probably 30-40 claws set up all over. One of my responsibilities was to set the difficulty on the claws so they matched the prizes. A big plush needs the claw set differently than a small plush, and i would adjust them when new prizes came in. Occasionaly, a guest would throw a fit about the machines being rigged. I would usually get a call and instead of explaining to them how it worked, i would put in a dollar and win on the first or second try, then give their kid the prize. It usually shut them up. If i couldnt win within 4 tries, the game probably was too difficult and I would usually change it right then and there. (Keep in mind i had tens of thousands of plays for free, i was pretty good at it) We would carefully track the amount won vs. the money the games took in. That way we could adjust the skill level for an underperforming machine. And keep in mind, we WANTED people to win. When people would win, it would drive plays. If it payed out one out of every 10 tries, we were still making A LOT of money. A game played 100 times and won ten times makes more money than a game played 10 times with no wins. If the crane in this video costs five dollars per play, it just needs to be adjusted so people win about 1 out of every 25 games or so. (I assume those are $100 stacks). If it did that, it would be the loosest game in the casino AND theyd average a $1 per game profit. AND since people would be winning, people would be playing. It doesnt make sense to rig something that doesnt need to be rigged. (Kinda like how the casinos in vegas figured out that if they just go legit and get rid of the mob, they will make more moeny). Despite being at a tourist location with a revolving door of people playing, our games that had the most plays _were the games that people won the most at._ And those same games were our highest earners. (Amd remember, like a cruise ship, it was always new people, that wasnt the reason). Look, im not saying it isnt rigged. Its a casino, they can loosen and tighten the odds _if they want._ What im saying is that you generally make more money _when people win._ They can alteady control the variables. If it is rigged, and nobody EVER wins, yet people keep playing, that is just sad. And you make a rule that people can only win twice a day, or whatever. That in itself will drive play. Thanks for coming to my ted talk. Edit: And our claws were physically unable to be rigged. We had the gaming commission inspect our facility every year and if something was found that wasnt skill based, we had to get rid of it. (Which happened a few times with coin pushers). And the gaming commission didnt mess around. Because of treaties signed with the tribal communities, if gambling equipment was run outside of permissable areas, the casinos _would throw an absolute fit_ and likely sue the state (and win).

What’s the difference with carnival getting it paid onto your side and sell card, and having to go to the cashier to cash out versus a cruise line that uses a voucher, that you still have to take to cashier to cash out to me having on your sign until card means you can’t lose the voucher, therefore losing your winnings.

Nowadays I think specialty dining has become a rip-off, it used to be that when you paid for a restaurant on board the pricing felt like they took into consideration the fact that you had to pay to be on board to begin with. But now all cruise lines have drastically increased the cost per person for specialty dining which now feels to be on par with land Restaurant pricing so you no longer feel like you're getting a special experience at a special price.

I love Carnival cruises!! I started my first sailing with the company. I've sailed on other ships to see the difference, but my heart will always belong to Carnival. The people on board are much more friendly, not stuck up. The whole atmosphere is fun but not to much. More free restaurants and I love their CHEF TABLE dining.
