I know this video is 11 years old, but I gotta say I disagree. There are many ways to prove it could apply as socialist, as well as many ways to hold back the application of the whole definition, but in resume, it was ahead (in how 'socialistic') of any State Capitalism in many regards, to just put it as such.

You could cry. Look at where Lexit has stoked up for the working class? The fundamental question of any socialist (worthy of the name) is that does a policy elevate, enhance or improve the conditions of working class people? The results sadly are in. The longest cost of living crisis, a period of wage stagnation not seen since 1815, a productivity crisis that has seen the UK economy fall further and further behind our European counterparts. Is this what so-called socialists want? Of course not. Brexit has been an utter failure and disaster for UK workers and it is this type of position from Lexiters that damages the cause of working class politics and interests.

And so how did this 'Lexit' turn out. Thats right an annual loss of £100bn to the UK economy, cemented the largest fall of living standards on working people, has decimated the savings and investments of pensions and savings. You know, the money that workers rely on to avoid pensioner poverty. We have so-called socialists urging other socialists to stand shoulder to shoulder with racists in the ballot box, joining with the most reactionary groups that exist within the Country and of course, socialists - so called, forgetting that the point of socialism is the elevation, enhancement and improvement of the working class. Brexit & Lexit was a disaster fir the UK working class and many in the Labour movement who propogated this policy have done a huge disservice to the left in this Country. Breaks the heart to be honest....as we now have shit and sewerage in our rivers and waterways, poverty and destitution at its peak, we live in an economy that is now an ocean of debt and we have endured the longest fall in living standards since the battle of Waterloo. This was never thought through and the left was given an opportunity of displaying its 'internationalism' and totally fluffed it.
