Repair DOG BONE for MINING Truck using Zayer Bed Mill! | Machining & Bore Welding
Weâre fixing a critical component for a big mining truck and weâve got a different approach that might raise some eyebrows! Weâve got a dog bone linkage off a Caterpillar 785 haul truck; the bores are a little worse for wear and need to be reclaimed. We'll be setting the part up on our Zayer bed mill and using our shop made adapter with a Wohlhaupter boring head to machine out the worn bores. Then, to save some serious time, we're keeping the part right where it is and using our Zayer mill's head to setup the line boring mounts ready for welding. Now, here's where things might get interesting. We're using our Sir Meccanica WS2 portable bore welder to weld those bores vertically while they're still on the mill. Some folks might have a different approach, but we're all about efficiency! Once the welding is done, it's back to machining the bores to exact specifications and cutting in the snap ring grooves. We'll then drill in the grease ports, pop those snap rings in, and use our 150-tonne hydraulic press to press in the spherical bearings. Hit that subscribe button and join use to see our unique approach to bringing this part back to life!
In this video we are using:
- Zayer 3500BF Bed mill
- Sir Meccanica WS2 portable bore welder
- WIA 500i Weldmatic welder
- Metalmaster HPM-150T Hydraulic press

Do you take all your waste and scrap metal to a metal recycling centre?
JB WELD!
I like how he tightens his grinding discs. No need for the wrench. That's how I tighten all of mine.
I love your content, sense of humor, professionalism, and especially Karen's dialogues; she is an amazing videographer. Seeing the Homeless and the wildlife really is special; thanks for all you do.
I need an engineer who can teach me like this,am a machinist from Nigeria

Can you teach us the fastest way to center a piece on a 4 jaw chuck...
You Sir truly are a Master! Iâm glad I found your channel and seriously love watching you make things. I also received the hat I purchased today. Thank You!
Nothing like a broken tap to kill your day.
Just a question could you not just bore out the holes, then press a high carbon steel sleeve inside with a 0.005 press fit and maybe tacked weld the sleeve in place. Followed by cutting the snap room grove and drlling the grease hole?
Iâll tell you something mate you got some bloody good skills. Love the videos and the videoing is second to now đđȘđŹđ§đŹđ§đŹđ§
Gee your good. i enjoyed that. cheers to your camera and editer. I so held my breath when you went and did the Thread.. so make or break. cheers i do some lathe work, your fantasic.

"turn coolant off" "NO!!!!" "Why?" That had me rolling. I love workplace banter.
Love Karen's "MATRIX ADAPTATION" of Keanu Reeves moves.........
So you really think that did/had less potential for less damage than just workin the nut back and forth until it got past the sticking point? Never mind that's a stupid question of course you do. That's the way you did it! You're the professional You're the one that actually does this stuff I'm just a guy that cut some metal one time and now has a CZcams accountđ€Łđ€Ł sorry I forget which guy I am sometimes
My only complaint is that you donât post more
He's not kidding about it being noisy I worked in a boiler manufacturing shop for close to a year before I heard somebody gouging on a drum and that place was LOUD You really wanted to have earplugs in at all times because it really was that loud everywhere but when somebody started gouging it drowned out all of the other noise in the shop it was a noise that was shocking even in the presence of a dozen of other deafening noises
Such good content - between the expertise, camera work and editing, doggy interventions and bloopers 10/10 entertainment - cheers for creating
Mito profisionalđđđđđđ€đ€đ
If no F* words in the video, that will be great, because my 8 year-old and 10 year son like to watch video with me. I am worried about they will learn it.đ
Sounds like you got a bearing going bad
You have become one with video light saber.
Great base beat ... and the alto section was good too ,use it for the highlights reels ...đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
Everyone knows a rice rocket by its aftermarket suspension bits, so painting it bright blue with a big CEE logo might have made the other truckers jealous.
Do not trust that facing head to finish bore without an indicator and you need to block your work piece in better so you donât have to clamp so hard. But great work
In the next episode, Kurtis opens viewer mail of his new custom engraved snapring setting punch! Thanks for another great video!
Is that georges mate? What kind of birds are they? He tried to eat your finger.
My dogs love seeing Homeless on your videos lolđ
Brilliant video!
I have figured it out your wife is the foreman and your dog is the superintendentđđđ
Ă lavamos nos...đđđđ
Do the grease holes not need lining up when you pressed the joint in?
Amazing talent.
Man, this guy has all kinds of neat toys!

After all of the work that you did it doesn't even look like the bkade that was sent to you. Great work man.
Your to heavy handed, be easy next time đđđ
great video sounds like the head is off on that machine
So another shop made tool to mount the boring tool control box to the lathe bed may be on the way?
Hmmmm.... đ€ ...if you pulled the plug of the Zayer for the welding-process, does the Zayer kept the zero-positions or has the control-panel it's own and separated power??? Regards from Austria.... Cool stuff by the way đ€Ș
Hope you charged them your need it by Monday rate.
⊠another boring video from CEE.
Setting up the bearing mounts like that is the biggest "work smarter, not harder" moment I've seen in ages.
