Wonderful video as always. If you think the rain came in that window because of the force of the storm, then I would suspect all the windows and skylight are not sealed properly. Is there any way you could find out how they sealed them and how to check the rest of them for leakage potential?

I would keep the outhouse and use it for storage. The pool looks great. I agree with the other post that tiles along the top edge would look great. Isn’t Portugal well known for their tiles? Actually the price of the paint for the pool paint is pretty reasonable. That is a bit cheaper than we would pay here in Canada for cement paint. Also agree with the post about the window and siliconing it. You really want to get on top of that as water on wood can just destroy it. It looks like the dog wants to be with you. He is a lovely dog. He and kitty are forging a bond it looks like. The pool looks great. Hopefully the 2 days of rain filled it. Hi the spash pool came out beautiful. Some silicone around window will do the trick. And then all those planks/wood and stuff will fit into that drain /toilet shed thing. Hi Suzi, looking at the start of your post, again the subject of outhouse!!🙄 My suggestion is to perhaps knock down three walls to just below stone wall . Keeping wall adjacent to carport as is. That way you have your view!! You could put some troughs on top of low walls for sun loving plants! The door can be used as a tabletop/ workbench for garden chores, or seedlings or throw a cloth over for outdoor picnics! All is lovely! I have been selling soo much on Market place as my family have their own ideas... And my son has said, when i ask, what he is going to do with my loved pictures...I will hang them in a room and have a candle in the middle!!!!!😅 So dear Suzi, a membership with offers, i must decline, but hopefully can continue to watch your lifestyle in Portugal.🐈🦋🐝🌦️🇿🇦

Hi , I hope you don’t mind me commenting on the window leakage. Regardless of the rain coming down on the window with force. Wouldn’t proper insulation/water barrier membrane for window instillation work? I would think if water is coming in then the window insulation/barrier is not working. What do you think?

Hi Suzi, if you really hate that " outhouse" (eyesore at the mo) get a quote from handyman, who will take down both structures pronto! Then you have the other one for tools etc. If you plant anything out of a pot, the roots will eventually block your french drain. I'm sure you have pictured it all gone, repurposing the tiles and cement blocks as you did at previous house. I suppose the electrics are safely cut off and water connection to basin and loo. Two nice pots with trays on painted septic tank tops will be your immediate view. Or stick with the vintage look and beautify it! Ideal area to park two cars and have the usual 4 steel poles with tent awning over!

Have you thought about growing a climber on the front of the aepttank building - bougainvillea or plumbago would be lovely and provide a lovely thing to look at from the house.

Maybe after creatively painting the structure, you will decide to keep it. You could always use the walls for storage and holding some of your tools, etc. Once the door can be closed and locked it is an area where you can lock up things when you are out of town as well. Would it not be beneficial to use the other area as a carport and just repair the roof, rather than tearing it down? There is so much potential for outdoor entertaining in your courtyard too. Such a cute place.
