For all: read the "Kreuzer Sonata" (L.N.Tolstoy), the novel was written a long time before the modern world was established. I think, it would say a lot about relationsip between man&woman, parenthood and greed in the premodern society in wich our ancestors lived from standpoint of old father.

I think the author has gone too far into philosophy. I believe this can be explained much more simply and objectively using economics. After all, those managerial elites want to preserve their well-being, don’t they? Generally speaking, managerial elites, as you call them, propose social democracy as an economic state of the state. The main points of it are: Government management of the market. Social benefits for citizens like pensions, Medicare, free education, benefits for vulnerable groups, etc. I consider those ideas destructive. Firstly, the increased size of government responsibilities increases its size, which leads to increased corruption. Secondly, social benefits are viewed as God-given and, as such, are essentially not valued. For example, in my state, many people pursue higher education degrees primarily to avoid military service. They don't use the professional skills they acquire, pursuing careers that are hardly aligned with their degrees. As such, there is no need for education improvement, as education essentially becomes a method to avoid the army. So higher education degrades, becoming simpler and less demanding. On my bachelor’s journey, I had multiple courses that could be passed just by showing up. The grades were low, but still enough to pass. Meanwhile, contrary to the author’s point about the destructive nature of higher education, many titans of our modern world have benefited from it. Look at any founder of Big Tech-they all attended higher education institutions (though some of them dropped out). And notice-they all have two or more children. But what makes them different? Those titans actually invested in their futures, quite daringly and skillfully, I must add. As such, they enjoy the rewards that they achieved through their efforts, not as a birthright. Meanwhile, people in my country can simply enjoy a ride from birth to death "with no need to worry at all." They don't need to be creative, daring, or have leadership qualities. All they need is to live. So what is the value in living, really?

Regardless of the fact that these elites have planned all along or are in fact unable to manage the current demographic crisis, it is all too clear THEY NEED TO GO!

Most people here don't even think about the decline we're going through, as a society, while we might have it better here in the East as our living standard constantly improved over the years, but with this population colapse, I don't see us going to dominate anything. I think the reason modern psychology is an utter failure in its pursuit of mental wellness, especially compared to ancient philosophy and religion, is because it's a product of modern secular technique and the managerial class and its true purpose is to modify normal human thinking and behavior to tolerate an otherwise intolerable dystopia. They tell you that you have a "chemical imbalance," leave out the fact that this is caused by all of the toxic chemicals in our environment, the over-processed garbage we call food, and the system trying to over-socialize you into a mindless and soulless cog in the machine, then offer you more chemicals to fix the problem they caused.

It's not about rights, it is aboet technology. Hormonal birth control is brand new in human history, and interrupts relationship formation. This has taken time to fully manifest because there is an umportant second and third generation effect of this change: the broader social and political consequences of widespread use of hormonal birth control in the U.S. are now coming to fruition. At the same time there is a massive decline in male testosterone levels, and men are subjectively less attracted to the women they know (physically and emotionally). The thing to roll back is not rights, it's NORMS. Women want families, but our social norms discourage and inhibit it at every turn. If women were in a position to choose to have children, they would keep themselves better, attract men, and have those children.

If we want to foster higher birth rates, the state must accept modernity, make the populace aware of the demographic crisis, like we are aware of climate change. And also help with money. Kindergarten must be free, taxes must be reduces for parents and probably increased for the childless. Spain is being conquered by hispanoamericans; they are turning back the history XD Sometimes walking in Madrid I have to wonder myself if i'm not in Bogotá. Related to family policies; I'm not precisely a Franco's supporter, but it is true that many policies were destroyed by democracy. For example, there was a student's public saving that allowed my father studyng from his little village until ending university; the State payed housing and even clothing for the student. That money dissapeared in just two elections. Something that allowed my father to study more than 20 years was banished in less than 8 years of democracy. Maybe data says housing it is not related with birth rate, but at least my experience between friends and colleges is that housing + uncertain labour future makes impossible having children. We want, but we can't. Lastly, the religious population in countries like Spain, Italy or Portugal is a little bit fake. Many of us count as christians because we were baptized as a family tradition; but we don't practice or belive in any religion.

Improve inflation. If prices/income is like in 1960-1970, life will be easy and people won't be afraid of having families, because housing, food and transportation will be affordable to much more people.

Ive 4 chikdten all in their 30s and no grandchildren . Women think all men are untrustworthy and will cheat on them plus verbally abusive and aggressive or on the other side they are just soft complete mummy's boys who cant even boil an egg. Men think women will just divorce them and the family court judge will give everything to the women . Young people have even given up on sex and use Porn instead which is far more reliable for satisfaction without any complications .

I have said it many times. The only way to effectively incentivise people to have children is to make all childless lifestyles unattractive. No university entry without having children, no manager-level jobs without having children, no apartments in certain areas without having children, no car without children etc. Start with small nudges and ramp up the pressure until people start having/adopting kids. It's hard to predict how different societies react to a policy like this. In some countries, nudging might be sufficient, others might have to go full tyrannical, but it might be the only way to get theses countries off the road to extinction.

Ask South Koreans why they are not reproducing, and the answer is always economics. Many such examples exist - it’s ubiquitous. I don’t think the bureaucratic/technocratic management of post-Bretton Woods Western hegemony and neoliberal economics are the problem - it is the extractive and austerity abuses of Western economic imperialism and neoliberal economics themselves that are the problem. The defense of neoliberal capitalism has lost legitimacy - the solution requires system reform to egalitarian economics, and democratic socialism.
