The Basics of Erectile Dysfunction (ED) explained
Hi everyone, the following video is the first in a series explaining aspects related to erectile dysfunction. In this present video i will cover the basic physiology of how an erection develops and some of the conditions which can contribute to the development of the disease.
Ed is far more common than most men are aware of. it increases in frequency with increasing age. For the majority of men there are simple life style modifications which can help significantly in delaying the onset or preventing progression.
I hope this helps and good luck with your journey!

Thanks so much! I'm only reading about this method of surgery prep when do research, and I think this is the best presentation! I have PC in the family and I've been advised to prepare by simply picking a day per week to drink a lot of water and hold for 3 hours, as much as possible without 'thinking' about it (doing Kegels) and that this strengthens the interior/involuntary bladder neck - for example what is cut in your channel's bladder neck dissection video czcams.com/video/3i90ixAjKaA/video.html. I worked up from like 600ml before leaking to more than 1300 and being completely dry without needing to kegel. This has also been great for my job as a truck driver for obvious reasons. The question is, will this help post surgery recovery the same way? Also I've been told it's unhealthy but I never hold more then 3 or 4 hours (I just drink a lot first). I would ask the surgeon for a video too and see if the tissue is thick.

I had 7 implants and they don't work. Bleeding 6 months later. Had to have C.T. Scan and Bladder Scope. Urologist says to me he thinks he put one of the Implants in too close to my Bladder. He tells me Good News, he can fix it! He tells Bad News, is I would need to be put under in the hospital. My question is "Should I have to pay for this? Since he made the mistake. I had the Urolift thinking I could get off taking Tamsulosin. That didn't happen. If I don't take it, I cannot Urinate at all. If I forget to take it, just one day, I pay for it! My Conclusion! Urolift Was A Big Mistake!

That's a difficult one. I had my prostate removed in November 2021. In the UK you can check online to find the experience of the surgeon. Mine had done quite a few prostatectomy ops. The problem is if only very experienced surgeons perform these procedures then then eventually we will run out. I'm guessing there is adequate monitoring in the early stages.

I had a open simple prostatectomy after going into urinary retention. My prostate was 130gm. After the surgery I had a catheter in for 10 days. After the catheter was removed I was able to wean off of flowmax and able to urinate on my own in normal fashion. I had two occasions when I could not hold my urine which happened while I was asleep and both happened within two weeks of the catheter removal. When the removed prostate tissue was biopsied they discovered Gleason grade 3+3 cancer of which I am on AS. All in all I am very happy with the outcome and feel very grateful with my results.

Men who have their testicles removed don't develop BPH. If they are removed after a man gets BPH, the prostate begins to shrink back to it's original size and you'll feel like you are 10 again.

This is a highly informative and an extremely patient-friendly video. Dr. Chabert seems to have a extraordinary bedside manner, and he appears reassuring yet candid about the Rezum procedure. One quick question: My urologist in the U.S. recommends Rezum for pain and obstruction, although my prostate is relatively small. One complicating factor is that I also have prostate cancer; I am practicing active surveillance. Would I be a good candidate for the Rezum procedure? Thank you profoundly, and keep up the amazing work. You are a gift to urologic medicine, and mankind is grateful for your expertise, as well as for your pleasant demeanor. Cheers!

Best information on Green Light Laser I've seen, thank you for taking the time to post it. I had the procedure three days ago and was released immediately after recovery with a catheter and told to return next morning which I did. I wasn't asked to pee while in the doctor's office but told to return if I was not able to pee after I got home. There was quite a bit of blood each time I went for the first several times which includeded what appeared to be dark matter or thicker masses of blood. Now, after 3 days, urine is pink with some red toward the end, and every time I feel the urge to pee, I'm also feeling the urge to pass gas or have a BM, which has not been easy even after taking a stool softner. Is what I am experiencing fairly normal?
