This is what millions of people in history had to cross in order to begin new lives.

I so enjoyed your two videos. The MacPhails hail from Mull where my great grandfather, Dugald MacPhail, was the "Bard of Mull". The Indo-Greek kingdom emerged after Alexander attempt the Great's invasion of India in 326 BCE. Greek satraps established semi-independent kingdoms on the northwest edge of the Indian(Maurya) subcontinent. Some of the most famous Indo-Greek rulers include Demetrius I, Menander I, and Apollodotus II.Around 50 BCE, the Indo-Greek kingdoms were overthrown by the Scythian and Parthian invasions. The Indo-Greek period came to an end, but the cultural and artistic influences they left behind continued to shape both societies for centuries to come. 🇮🇳🇬🇷

A Swiss Heritage Mountain Man, & Transplanted Canadian Country Boy, I Am (Open letter, in response to an excellent CZcams video on Subtropical Highlands of the world) Wonderful video, thank you! And this is where i now live - my new favourite climate zone or social-ecological niche: the subtropical highlands, in the eternal spring of beautiful mountains - in Southern Mexico. For me, at present, it is highlands Chiapas, at 2,200 metres (7,000 feet) above sea level. But getting to know this cultural-ecological type of region, i now know i prefer, at this or a similar latitude, a quieter, more remote, rural village life, at an even higher elevation: 2,500 metres, minimum. The remote highlands of Chiapas or Oaxaca, Mexico, or the mountains of Northern El Salvador, are looking like magnificent places to live, for my tastes. I just want a simple, quiet life in nature, in the remote highlands, in the green mountains, with a small, quiet, friendly village nearby, and a town with good internet that is 20-60 minutes away by car, motorcycle or bus, that i can go to once a week, or better, once a month. Sounds like paradise to me. And being a country boy from birth, and with Swiss mountain man heritage, it suits me perfectly, to a T. Thank you again for the great video. Subscribed!
