I’ll admit, Kiera channeling Eco and having the potential to become an Eco Sage was probably the only thing worth of interest in this game. I mean this game is a very low bar so I’d say it was a “Meh. Okay.” moment but that is still a lot for this installment.

The uncharted games were all so boring to me, I tried, but for jak to be scrapped for that game franchise really escapes my understanding, I may differ from your most popular opinion, but walking around in a video game to find stuff and just climbing natures puzzles never tickled my fancy.

Oh my goddd thank you! I have been trying to find the second song on here for so long! I got Jak and Daxter collection for PSVita when I was like 12 years old and I’m 19 now so it it very nostalgic. That beautiful music every time you start up the game though💕

I remember my mom buying this game for me when I was 5 or 6 just because we had a dog named Daxter at the time. I got stuck at one part and never touched it again. Fun times but it did introduce me to a great franchise

It seems like they were trying to go back to their roots in the first game but still have it take place after jak 3. Hence why Kira is training to be a sage, something that was only hinted at the end of the first game. I give it points for trying to expand the world of Jak and Daxter outside of Haven City. It’s just that this doesn’t fit the world or tone the previous games set up.

Just want to state this; this game, no matter which way we look at it, is the worst in the series. But, that means nothing. It's less of a "just terrible, absolute trash tier game", and more of like how Mario Party 8 was compared to its brethren. Yes, it wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible. Think about it. What franchise is this game a part of? Jak & Daxter. What games does Jak & Daxter have? Oh, I dunno, maybe FOUR OF THE GREATEST PS2 GAMES OF ALL TIME!? Jak 1 to this day is one of the greatest platformer games of all time. Jak 2 was the PINNACLE of the term "Cerebus Syndrome", being such a good example, Cerebus Syndrome gained the nickname "Jak 2 Syndrome". It was THAT good! Jak 3 was an incredible finale to the trilogy, that expanded on everything Jak 2 had and added more. Jak X was a very great racing game with fun and exciting high speed combat, with an excusable plot for the sake of getting them to race. And Daxter was one of the greatest PSP games of all time. With this in mind, there is NO way The Lost Frontier could ever compete against the rest of the franchise. Literally four PlayStation Platinum games and one of the best PSP games. That's equivalent to Metroid Federation Force going up against Metroid Prime. How do you even compete? But, let's just look at it by itself, with its content and development time. The game started development in 2009, with a total development time of 7 months and 10 days, finishing that same year. It was developed by a company that had made two PSP games beforehand; Ratchet & Clank Size Matters, which isn't exactly that stellar a game all things considered, and Secret Agent Clank, which while cool, wasn't all that amazing. This game was also made at least a whole 2 years after the PS3 came out, and the PS3 had also dropped in price by that time. This meant the game was developed at least 2 years after the PS3 came out, meaning the game was made with the knowledge a far better gaming platform was available. With this in mind, and looking at its content… the game is actually above average in quality, just looking at it by itself. Decent enough story plot, good weapons, great challenge, interesting enough puzzles, and an admittedly really good flying system. Overall, the game is, for all intents and purposes, a pretty good game. Sure, it isn't amazing, even with only this, but it is nowhere close to bad just by itself. So, to reiterate. As a straight game by itself, it is a good to great game. Compared to the rest of its franchise, it's dogshit. But we have to understand what it had that held it back, and weigh it by that. Is it going to beat the rest of the franchise? Fuck no, not in a million years. Is it complete dogshit? Well, Ratchet & Clank Full Frontal Assault, Ratchet & Clank PS4, and some other rather poor games. I mean, let's be real here, Sonic Heroes wasn't all that great a game in the grand scheme of things, but it was fun so we played it. There's quite a lot of games Lost Frontier will beat, and a lot that it won't. Again, straight by itself, it's an above average game, and the worst of its franchise, by process of elimination.

I remember I got into an argument about Jak's goatee in this game being gone, but let's be real here; Jak's appearance in this game is just the no goatee secret code version of Jak X's Jak with a pilot coat on. I mean, he has the same exact hairstyle.
