Coup de foudre amoureux ❤️
We are a couple who live in Florida and fell in love with Paris after a magical trip in 2022. During that trip, we decided to move from the USA to Paris. We started this channel to document our journey.
Our plan was to spend the first year exploring different areas of France before settling in Paris. Since then, our journey has taken some dramatic twists and turns. We moved back to Florida, and now have a home-base in Vero Beach, Florida to have closer and more frequent access to family. All of which is documented in our videos.
We still love France (in particular, Paris) and have not given up on our plan to live there one day. For now, we are traveling back and forth between our home here in Florida and our home away from home in Paris, with its many magical places yet to explore and adventures we most certainly will continue to share.
Bonne journée,
KJ & Tony

Discovering France in Vero Beach, Florida | French Crepes at Maison Martinique
Today's video is the first time we feature a peek into our life here in Vero Beach, Florida. We mostly post videos about our move to and from France, our adventures in France, and our plans to continue moving forward with plans to live in France. Yet, there's a significant part of our lives that revolves around my parents and our other family members in the US. Today, we share with you one of our favorite family traditions - Sunday brunch! Now that we're back in the US and both of us (Tony and I) are back to working full-time, Sunday brunch and planning our trips back to France are some of the highlights of our week. Today's video is also one of the first that features my parents. You may also recognize our youngest son, Piers, who is featured in many of our France videos. Over time, I'm sure you'll be getting to know the entire family...at least those who agree to let me film them!
This channel is dedicated to documenting our journey to live in France. Until then, we are comfortably situated in Vero Beach, Florida, and will continue to travel around France, sharing our experiences along the way.

Omg, I can’t believe you haven’t had a crepe from one of the crepe shacks on the streets in Paris. You must have a jambon/fromage crepe. Delicieux!
I lost both of my parents in my early thirties. You’ll never regret the decision to spend more time with them. I would give anything to have just five minutes with my parents again. Looking foreword to your adventures in the future.
This was a great find. Lovely tradition for Sunday❤
Your plan makes sense. You will never regret being available to support your elderly parents. I am curious if those expensive Michelin Star French Restaurant dinners are really worth the splurge? Let us know if you find out.
Bonjour guys! Thank you again for a parfait video. A lovely tradition! I had not been able to watch all your videos and wasn't sure where you were living, Nice, Paris? But my husband and I are a little older and have settled on the fact that short term renting (not buying) a suitable (large) apt in Paris works for us. Our phrase is "twenty years younger" meaning buying, fixing, furnishing establishing in Paris vs. now would have been more feasible. We will do this as long as knees and hips hold up! Love watching how you walk through life.🥐🥐🥐
Do you have any family traditions?
I’ve been watching your videos. I enjoy them very much. I have a question.. when you filled out your visa application, did you already have a destination or accommodation booked in advance? My husband and I are planning ahead for 2025. If we start the application now, we don’t know yet where we will be renting long term. We have a trip planned for March 2025 and will explore several areas. Any information would be helpful. Thank you, Jacqueline
Hi Jacqueline - Yes, we already had a destination. Something that is important to keep in mind is that you will need to register your Visa at the local prefecteur when you arrive. They will schedule an interview appt, which can take anywhere from 3-6 months. You'll have to plan around that and the ability to be at that appt.
Hint to get a good room at hotel de Seine.. ask for a bath. The rooms with bath are on the front of the hotel with bigger windows and bigger bathroom and a window in the bathroom.
Great tip! I wish we knew that before we went, but would definitely stay there again. Such a great location.
The Jules Verne restaurant is not a tourist trap. It is an expensive restaurant, definitely not for everyone, not even for the locals, because of the cost. But the food, the service, the ambiance, and that spectacular 360 degree view above Paris is one of a kind. I have been there 4 times. If you can afford it , give it a try.
Hi KJ and Tony, its Gio and we finally live in Nice and love it! Find it a perfect base to explore. Last week rented a sailboat and explored some nearby coastal cities. It was amazing and the water was similar to the Caribbean! Our kids love it. The constant sun reminded of us of Florida. We will like to see if there is a chance for a nice smaller city close to the ocean and close to Nice. Hope to run into you in Nice at some point!
Congratulations, Gio! That sounds wonderful. I hope we run into you as well.
Congratulations Tony!!!
Were are the waterfalls ?
This has nothing to do with Real Estate, but in order to move to Paris for example, don’t you have to take a French language test? Thx
Only if you're applying for residency.
lol 😂
Glad you enjoyed it!
Have been traveling to Europe for business and pleasure since 1988, always take a change of clothes and sleepware on board plus wear one set of jewelry. My color wardrobe is black, white, beige, red, grey and pair of jeans. A beautiful scarf goes a long way. The French pharmacies have great cosmetics, perfumes and lotions.
Great suggestions, thank you. And yes, I've discovered how wonderful the pharmacies are and stock up every time we're there.
If you’re accustomed to Florida weather, don’t discount the possibility of seasonal affective disorder. It might be worth considering being French Snowbirds and head to southern France for the winter! :)
Love that idea ❤️
Notre Dame also represents the Christian Faith that once was France . After the French Revolution which thousands who held to the faith of this once Christian country lost their lives because of their faith. Today the great Lady of France even though restored will represent the disproportionate loss of faith that exists in France which was once its real beauty.
Haven't thought much about Notre Dame since the fire but truly happy it is being restored. Whether you were raised catholic like I was or not...there is a quiet adoration for this phenomenal monument..and always will be. Nice video...if Paris has anything in abundance...it is pastries!
Yes, love the pastries. Nothing like it in the US.
Why do you guys look so pale? Maybe you can head down to St. Tropez when you go back to France and get some fun in the sun.....the south in the summer is so much more fun than the city.....
We love the south of France and idealliy will go back and forth between Paris and the south.
Hello Happy Traveling Couple...don't know where you are at the moment...just basically found your channel, you remind me of Sharri Harmel of Extraordinary Women...also an American living in Paris who goes back and forth to the States, like you. I think Paris is great and also great to get away from when you have the time...the south is just a wonderful place to go, you can find some nice uncrowded beaches even this time of year and great antiques shopping too. I lived there a long time ago, but thinking of going back.....
The marché Maubert is open acouple of days a week (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, I think),😊 Maybe more depending on the season?
Thanks for the info!
Great edit. Thanks!!!
Glad you liked it! Thank you.
What a pity they did not mention which opera or the music. Some minimal research and effort would not have gone amiss.
It is mentioned. It's Don Pasquale.
SO Interesting, Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it
FYI - On December 8, the Catholic Church honors Mary. The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception is a Catholic feast celebrating Mary's conception without sin.
Thank you for the info. Did not know that.
I came across your channel and it was nice. I like your experiences. Going abroad scares me to death. If you guys would post what you have to do and go through to go abroad would be helpful. Or what is the best way to away safe ans be safe when being abroad. Plus your recovery in the US would be great to know about.
We will definitely be posting an update soon!
Yes, have gone to La Dame de Paris twice, had very good meals. It 5 min from the Hotel du Lavant in the 5th where I stayed. But that was pre Covid. I have found many restaurants not as good post Covid.
Thank you. Will have to definitely go when we're back in Paris in November.
I had dinner at Taillevent. Very nice and expensive. How do you like Vero Beach?
We love it!
I absolutely loved that music! Beautiful. It was exciting to see Tony's favorite area. I hope that you buy a place near there.
Thanks, Debby. We are looking forward to living somewhere in Paris one day but will most likely rent until we decide where in Paris we'll end up.
We are enjoying your videos!….have you ever been to Biarritz France?

Merci beaucoup!
Les croissants d'Isabelle sont vraiment délicieux. A côté, ceux de Kayser, sont bons aussi, un autre style, mais également dans l'excellence de moins en moins présente par ailleurs.
😋
This is soooo overhyped. How can people pay sooo much money for this?
Great tips, but beware when it comes to using converters! Most computers, phones, etc are made to convert electricity in a safe way, but appliances such as hair dryers and hair curlers are usually not made to simply use a plug converter, and can blow a fuse or cause a fire. Don't bother bringing these devices from the US!
Also, I was thinking, wow, that necklace looks so pretty on you 😄
Thanks for the info!
Bienvenue en France déjà dans ce superbe appartement. Belle vie chez nous
Merci, but we are back in the US temporarily due to family health issues 😔 We go back and forth for the time being.

Omg, it is tiring satires

I really don't like to be negative (and rarely am), but I ended up fast forwarding the intro, that's simply too slow and too long. As for the content, and please forgive me, I almost want to refer to this as Paris for Dummies. Your 10 aspects of what make a hotel great are what most people expect provided their budget permits. Aside from that, there's the matter of personal preference, and the fact that price doesn't always equate to quality. I'm with Tony as far as returning to the same hotel (if it's not broken don't fix it) and also to some of the same restaurants while still trying new ones, of course. .
Thank you for your feedback and suggestions. We realize most people know what makes a hotel great. Our purpose in sharing the 10 aspects (as stated in the video) was as our personal guide for our rating of the hotel 😊
I used to stay at hotel de Siene every time I went to Paris...and I loved that location so much that I purchased an apartment in the same physical block..20 years ago and still love the location as much as I did then..it is perfect. I am now selling it to move back to Australia to be closer to my children. So if any of your viewers want to buy the perfect apartment in the perfect area..comment..
Agreed, it is a perfect location. I would guess you won't have any trouble selling it.
My husband and I ate there 12 years ago, and it definitely is for the experience. At that time our meal was about 500 euros and we did each have a glass of wine. There was just one table that was close to us with just a couple, and they kept asking us how we were able to get a window table. Actually our travel agent made the reservation for us, so we didn't even know!! I remember going outside, for the view, but to be honest, I don't really remember specifics about our food.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I think it's interesting that you remember the cost over the food. I think this is common. My parents ate there many years ago as well and they have the same memory of their experience.
@kjandtonylovefrance it was remembered because my husband would always comment to everyone on how it was the most expensive place we had ever eaten!!😅
Travel light, carry money!
