Pursuit of Wonder
Registrace 12. 02. 2017
Fostering reflection through powerful ideas and stories.
Wonder is the feeling of curiosity and appreciation inspired by something beautiful, inexplicable, or unfamiliar. At Pursuit of Wonder, we create work with the aim of producing that feeling.
Through video essays, short stories, guided experiences, books, and more, we explore a wide range of topics related to philosophy, psychology, science, literature, well-being, and more. We believe in facing the challenges and complexities of life head-on, and in doing so, we strive to inspire a reconnection with child-like wonder and a comfort with the uncertainty and absurdity of existence.

There is no "number 65" in Roulette.... Makes me question the "experiment" hmmm
So he said my book...so does that mean that the nerrorator is robert planto..
Funny because if I had spun that roulette wheel and been asked that question... I said play what it said I have no idea.. that's funny that people think they have an answer to something that they don't know about
I love how you use those figures in the halo effect
This video doesn't make sense u think all the successful people didn't care didn't seek something 😂
"Discipline. Consistency. Deadlines. Creativity. Reflection. Repeat." --an award-winning author Study hard. Do your work. Get educated, trustworthy opinions about stuff. Make the best decisions you can. That's all you can do. YOU CANNOT POSSIBLY KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT EVERYTHING, but that doesn't mean you need to trust the first sign of information about something. Do the research, double-check things, and use logic! It's actually not that hard, but it does require efforts. You can't go on auto-pilot.
my culture has stories about the trixster, these stories are about these mind traps. We have stories about how we trick ourselves and ones about how others trick us.
Nice presentation. tu
4:46 this is why affairs happen at the office... Btw... Margret is a bit much.
That thumbnails goes hard.
Smadav
We'll never become the sole driver of our minds, of ourselves. But we can, perhaps, become a more observant passenger.
7:07 thought it was going to talk about the Dunning-Kruger effect. 😂 was able to guess the mere exposure and halo effect though
Great story tell. Hats off🎩
His book is great. Wonderful read
This might be personal 😅
great video!
Thank you!!🙏

How do i get your book in the uae plzzzz
Dorselessness...
Cant wait to get your new book, bought your previous ones and loved them
So he experienced the halo effect with his abusive girlfriend, then semi-consciously felt compelled to start seeing Margaret using the confirmation bias.. In the end his brain was indeed protecting him and helping him survive 🤔 While it may have been arguably cowardly, these biases potentially helped him to become a happier guy.
I like this channel but not because I'm biased
Your videos had helped me in my dark phase of my life. Currently, not so good happening but still i have recovered from where i was. Lots of love❤. Thank you 👍🏻😊
What is the goal of this channel? It occurs to me that as a long time sub I have yet to consider this…what are the tangible benefits to the individual? I’ll unsub while awaiting a response, the information presented is basic grade school, that said…I went to a Private School.
When you engage your thinking you’re F..ked!
Try engaging WITH your thinking, talk about the twilight zone 😅
"A more aware passenger." I like that.
You are an 1nc3l bias: Assume everything 1nc3ls say to be wrong because of social dogmatism telling us w0m3n must be seen as angels and cannot have their behaviors evaluated or studied. Here, existent facts, such as the hallo effect, hyp3rg4my, social desirability mediated by social dogmas and the inutility of surveys fail to exist, as some of these items are related to such "group". That is the case, but could only not be, if one is using such items to promote the idea that the supported group are actually victims: Ironically, many of these items, such as hallo effect and social dogmatism only become true if progressivist ""intellectuals"" are evaluating the supposed bad impact of them at wom3n, or speculate the impact. Then we have body positivity. In other words, or to conclude, such facts could only "come to exist", if it were to evidentialize the "victimhood" or moral or ethical superiority of the group that is being "supported" by them.
I wish there was something outside of ourselves that could bypass human bias, correct itself if followed, and lead to better outcomes for humanity....oh wait, it's the scientific method of thinking!
If you do something, _anything at all,_ and it doesn't kill you, then the brain will automatically give that same activity preference over any other similar, untried, activity.
0:13 The anchoring effect 2:17 the halo effect 3:48 the mere-exposure effect 5:14 confirmation bias 6:37 selective confirmation bias 6:49 bias blind spot
As always, top drawer!
What would a world without bias look like?
Why ia theis vid made in 125% speed? Like, Nietxsches ideas is not complicated enoght, that we have to speed them up to 130% to make them even more hard to understand. DO BETTER!
The anger and resistance in the comments section affirms the concept of the video😂
Welcome to life - this is modern content - rebranded philosophy into some pseudo intellectual think piece
I can't retain anything from your videos because you talk too fast and never pause. Maybe that's a feature for your audience
Mere exposure effect could explain family group bias.
Nothing new under the Sun.
This is why I try to form strong opinions on personal experiences only. I take what others think with a grain of salt. To understand that I may very well be wrong in all my assumptions, and to never try to convince others of my beliefs because of it. If I’m asked I will share my opinions with the reasons I hold them. They can then form their own conclusions with the information. Get ready to not be liked by many people. I’ve found most people don’t like it when they can’t put you in a box. They need to easily “understand” you or they won’t try. They need to make sure you are on “their side”. People love labels and boxes.
If I don't care what my mind thinks of me, why would I care what any other mind thinks of me?😂
